Whats a systematic approach to stop binge eating/cheating on your diet?

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s gonna be impossible to live a life where I eat 100% clean every single day. But, on the occasion that I go out with family on a meal etc, how do I limit myself to eating let’s say 1-1.5k over maintenance instead of binging 4-5k+? For context I’m not even fat, I’m 150lb & 5’10 but just trying to cut down a bit before I go on a lean bull etc.

Don’t you think it’s better to cut down to 10-12% bf before bulking up?

How tall are you? 150lbs is light as frick, doesn't seem like you need to cut and could just eat in a small surplus unless you are like 4'1. Maybe you don't have that much muscle and think you need to cut to look more muscular but you just don't have that much muscle in the first place and eating in a surplus is going to help with that and it won't get you fat except after a long time of doing it

Eating 5k over maintenance is not even a big deal if your diet is otherwise good and obviously don't do it often.
I would have a day where i eat like 1kg of candy, a bag of cookies, a bag of chips and 1 full b&j ice cream tub later in the day after i had my regular meals earlier on in the day and nothing really happens. You feel bloated and shit but after a couple days all the water weight and shit you gained is gone and you're back to normal
Obviously it's better to not eat a crazy amount but better to just not stress about it

You should probably just start lifting hard enough to justify your diet.

As someone who tackled their BED it takes eating consistently to get your mind in the right place to begin to tackle your triggers and other compounding factors. You need 3 meals and 3 snacks; meals should consist of 1 carb, 1 protein, 1 dairy and 1 fruit/veg and 1 fat, snacks should be a veg/fruit with 1 fat, 1 dairy or 1 protein. Have a fun food with lunch and dinner to not feel restricted

The truth will set you free

Unironically though research on alcoholics found out if they will say to themselves how much are they gonna drink truthfuly instead of "gonna be one beer for sure" over time they decreased the amount by like 3 times

I’m 5’10 & 150lb. I wanted to cut down to 10-12% before bulking up. My end goal is to maintain a low bf because I think my face slims out. But I realised I can’t be eating 2.1-2.2k for the rest of my life. So would u guys recommend eating at maintenance or a prank bull of 2-300 calories?

Don’t listen to these guys, cut down to 10-12% bf first and then bulk.

You are anorexic. I am 5`10 and when I was that weight, I was extremely anorexic with eyes that looked like sockets of a skull.

What did you do/recommend doing then? Should I be in a surplus of 2-300 calories or maintain for a while? I dropped 12xbw from December & can see more of my abs/ribs now. I’ve been in a calorie deficit for like 2-3 months since though

You're overthinking, do maintenance for a month while lifting, if you are hungry at the end of the day, finish with something with protein like hard boiled eggs and carrots, afterwards consider your progress and either increase by 300-500 or decrease slightly.

Just avoid foods your great grandma wouldn't recognize and you're golden

I have issues with binge eating when I do intermittent fasting where I consume 4k calories in 2 hours. What helped was not eating my one 1200 calorie meal until 7 (I go to bed at 9:30) followed by Metamucil and immediately brushing my teeth after. For whatever reason my appetite disappears as soon as I taste toothpaste.

Same bro, I’ve literally consumed 5-6k calories within a hour or 2. I’m considering starting to go away from fasting and starting to eat 2-3 800’calorie meals. Breakfast lunch dinner etc
