Nip runes. asiatic runes are wider spaced and look "cuter".
seeing latinoids trying to decipher oriental script is always amusing
I think you should too but for a mostly separate reason. Memes are by nature of being memes human programming tools. You see x meme so many time in familiar contexts it starts to effect the way you think. You build expectancy and when it's absent you mind reminds you of it's absence. Unless you're autistic or otherwise immune to these kinds of micro propaganda you're going to end up maladapted to modern life even if you were otherwise a functional person when you started coming here.
For me it's the randomness factor. Like gambling. Only 1 time out of 10 I find something actually worthy of my time and attention and the rest is shit, but the potential of finding something good at the bottom of the barrel just keeps me coming here. It's like a fear of missing out, despite the fact I know there's nothing of value I miss. There's also the problem of down time. For example it's easier to stop watching porn, because you usually have a designated X hour or minute time allocated for it, and you just start doing something else in that time frame. However IST is just the "default" thing I do between actual activities. Waiting for the microwave, taking a shit, waiting for the boring meeting to end and so on. It's much harder to find a meaningful replacement for these kinds of bad habits.
>For me it's the randomness factor.
random reward interval tends to be huge driver for a lot of people also leads to stuff like the above having more impact. Because their mind is searching for a concise pattern to meet reward criteria but often there isn't any. I use renshuu for idle moments because japanese is stupid hard and I know I'll probably never master it anyways.

Now that's an advice I can work with! Thanks! Is it better than Duolingo?
My idea was to follow multiple different mangas at the same time. A chapter usually fits into the 5-10 minutes time frame, but, as you can see from the fact I'm still posting here, it doesn't really work so far.
It's more of a flash card replacement. You can fiddle the with settings and customize lesson vocabulary. For instance if you have Genki volume one 2nd or 3rd edition you can find each chapters vocabulary and add it to an existing lesson or make the independent for focusing on mastery chapter by chapter. You can select whether you want it to be multiple choice or fill in the blank answers and within that hiragana or kanji compounds ect. Usually I use fill in the blank as much as possible because you'll remember the spelling and kanji better if you're actually using them.
I don't think it's a replacement for studying a language from a course book or class but it's a studying tool at will help you retain the information better.
