What's the deal with mouthrinse?

What's the deal with mouthrinse? Is it actually effective at keeping your teeth healthy or whitening your teeth or is it just some type of gimmick to make you FEEL like you're cleaning your teeth?
Or could it even be bad for your teeth and cause tooth erosion?

If you drink water constantly all day it's probably fine. But for most people they use to stop bad breathe and all it does is dry out their mouth, creating more bacteria and worse breathe. I smell people's disgusting listerine+halitosis breathe all the time.

      >I smell people's disgusting listerine+halitosis breathe all the time.
One of the best things about COVID is I forgot all about what it was like to smell someone else's breath.

Useful after flossing to get rid of any debris that you loosened but didn't fully fish out

Amazingly it was originally also used as aftershave. (Alcohol)

It's a scam. No benefit whatsoever. Floss, brush twice per day and scrape your tongue. If those don't help, go see a dentist

Or skip all that and just swish coconut oil in your mouth for 15 minutes
It restores the pH to 7
      It kills the bacteria
It whitens the teeth a shade or two

destroys bacteria in your mouth, both good and bad. similar to how a round of antibiotics kills the bacteria in your stomach and ruins the biome. best to avoid

It makes more sense to chew dental chewing gum: you get the benefits of fresher breath and you help clean your teeth somewhat in the process, while also exercising your jaw for those Mewing gains.

It's a finisher, the thing you really want to do is floss. You have no idea how much bacteria gets between your teeth.

Stops gingivitis. Good to use for a while but not every single day for years.

Quit that shit and swirl your mouth with coconut oil instead for 5mins

I use it once or twice a week after I floss to kind of blast anything out that got loosened up. Could just use water. If my breath really gets out of control I’ll gargle some peroxide after brushing and kill everything in my mouth.

Its not abt cleaning ur death dum dum, its germs and whatnot in ur mouth, the first thing you and everyone else on planet Earth needs to do upon rising from sleep is rinse ur mouth out with pic related
Tl;dr listen to your fricking Dentist for the love of God
    You want healthy gums? Floss
You want clean, bright teeth? Get ur teeth cleaned and brush once per day, with or without toothpaste
    PS
Toothpaste is wildly overrated, if you use too much or brush too often with it you can frick up your teeth
