well you don't need to be bulk to strike and run around in the cage. It's only needed when they start holding onto you and showing you that victim weight is very real.
Lol takes an outlier in a division of small people. Said outlier is my height, except he has longer arms than me. All this advantage is somehow supposed to disprove the iron rule that muscle is the most important thing that you can control in all sports not just mma, after of course the sport specific skill training. Nevermind the fact that he also wants to disprove tapping into more skills than just striking, when clear refutations can be found in a ton of other divisions, most notably Jon Jones or even the fricking OP picture. What a clown.
>He is super bulked, though. He was literally bigger than Dricus.
That's mostly because he stands up straight and has wide shoulders. Dricus has a really fricking thick back and arms and all.
its hilarious that almost since GSP retired, there have been no legit champions. its like only anderson silva and gsp that were champions for like 5 years. every other ufc fighter just cant seem to last longer than 2 matches.
oh yeah, but hes more like Floyd Mayweather. not really much of a fighter or good, but wins. mostly a style win type of guy.
Also, why are the ufc girls so ugly now? its gonna be hiliarous when they have to hire new ones cause these ones are getting old. Do they hire fresh 19 year olds for legit attractiveness? or do they hire post 30 females for DEi quotas and not to scare away female ufc fans??
his hardest fights were people his actual size
his boxing is literal dogshit
height reach and gear literally saves him from being a complete and total trash can. on his way to losing against a no legged thiago
lost to reyes who got nuked by jan jiri and Black person jab
jones only takes the most favorable fights and schedule and gets his balls slathered by homosexuals like you and the ufc desperate for their cash cow. go find his old test results back when they released one or two of them. he had the testosterone of an elderly asian woman way back since 2013 or so and been like that ever since
He’s an MMA fighter, not a boxer.

Plus the other dude had a lot of energy and wasn't being looked at as much you never really know. He'd have gotten shitstomped by prime anderson.
>bad takedown defense
Comes with being a stand up specialist, that's why he was a black belt in bjj and never got submitted he was probably the most dominant champ they ever had.
Weidman beats every version of Silva. Silva just can't wrestle and the double jab shuts him down. He's supposed to be a legendary coutnerstriker and unhittable and he's literally just neither unless he's fighting math teachers.
Prime for Prime:
Strickland would also jab his face off.
Du Plessis would obliterate him on the ground.

Wrong.
>Wrong.
What about Mighty Mouse?
Demetrious Johnson was champion in flywheight from 2012 to 2018.
And there's more examples we can give you.
Connor McGregor brought the sport of MMA into the mainstream.
One of the most iconic fighters of all time, let alone this generation.
Khabib ended is career undefeated, having destroyed his competition every single time.
There's Amanda Nunes, the greatest female fighter of all time.
Currently we have Zhang Weili that is dominating the female strawweight division.
Silva and GSP are great champions but sayng there's no similar champions since then.
Well, yeah, everyone wants to be a double-champ because it's the most prestigious thing you can do in combat sports like MMA.
Even since McGregor did it, everyone else wants to do it too.
You have to consider the "Climbing the mountain" paradox.
People like this need a mountain to climb, otherwise they become depressed really quickly.
Once they've ascended atop the mountain, they become world champion for their weight class, they want to keep climbing upwards.
If they don't keep climbing, they fall into depression. This happens more often than people think.
They don't always want to become a "double champ", sometimes they just go up a weight class as it means increased difficulty. Or they want to have held the belt in multiple weight classes, to prove themselves.
It's all psychological.
People who want to be a the top, always need to be climbing higher.
If they stop climbing, their life becomes meaningless.

Once they started to push multi weight class champs is when I tuned out from MMA.
It's bad enough they were already dropping one or two weight classes to fight.
Weight cutting is its own separate issue.
I think the UFC should change their rules / weight classes to include a hydration test.
This hydration test would prevent the extreme weight cutting that thse athletes put hemselves through.
ONE FC does this, and it works out great for them.
The UFC is a great promotion, but they need to change some of those old archaic rules.
I hope Dana White eventually sees the light and changes this dumb system.
Weight cutting has almost become more important than talent or skill.
Terrible take. The level of competition naturally increases. GSP was great, but others are better than GSP because they have grown up w far more resources and training available.
I've come to find that punching power is mainly in the swing and your wrist/hands ability to absorb the blow without injury. Of course you don't need to be bloated to fight. You do realize that anyone who's very big just trains to bloat their muscles full of blood and glycogen right? Look at their training methods, that doesn't help with sports performance it actually hinders it. True strength training will only get you up to a certain peak size, and you'll be stronger at that size than a guy who only trains for bloat.
Personally I understood the bat analogy when it comes to kicks, but the yo yo with the hands since it’s a straight out with a fast snap back. The best description of a hook I heard was pretend you’re holding a beer mug and smashing it into his face.
These were just the explanations my coach gave that helped me really piece it together and I wanted to share.
I hadn't heard the yo-yo one before, will be stealing it. Definitely agree with of those. The dudes who've hit me the hardest all try to describe their striking as starting with the hips in some fashion or another. I think as long as you give new people some insight into the hips as the base, and working outwards depending on the strike, they'll find more success. As opposed to generic, "pivot your feet on a hook" etc that describe a downstream effect of good technique. I'm just an anon though
For a real hard roundhouse: >jump sideways into and past the opponent >throw your head shoulders and arms down while twisting hard at the hips and abs >try and put your ankle through their stomach right as your body is falling with it
Kinda gotta jump into it while falling but if you don't fully commit to a kick a good kickboxing is gonna put their weight onto their feet and box you down, ain't no boxing after you threw a kick without a change of stance.
The real skill is in the exact timing. If you are really good you can stuff a kick or move back enough so you get hit where there's no power, that's why among good kickboxers unless one person is extremely dominant with their feet boxing usually wins the fight.
But nobody really practices enough or has very high level traditional karate to do damage with a body kick and is scared to throw it because they always panic and go back to the forward boxing stance and get hit in the face. That being said if ibsee someone coming at me with a boxing/mt stance I'm throwing a 100% side kick easy money.

>leg kick/front kick is quicker
Your body goes back and is a natural block to kicks if you are fast enough to kick and is longer range than a front kick. In fact a back kick is a dodge to a side kick like a side kick stance is a block to a front kick. Gotta know when to plant and send it vs use the wider stance to move faster in and out than a squared stance. Amd if you wanna box out ofba karate stance you can only move past their front foot then square up off a jab or cross, and you can only move in one direction with you facing them and its easy to get a cross to the face or body hook doing so.
Kind of a weird way to describe it, I wouldn’t call it a jump but a step off center to open your hips. I would call the rotation of the hip swinging a bat, as in your leg is the bat.
I also wouldn’t say throw your head and arms down, but would call it leaning into the kick.
And the last part of just say you want to drop your weight into it.
The real skill is in the exact timing. If you are really good you can stuff a kick or move back enough so you get hit where there's no power, that's why among good kickboxers unless one person is extremely dominant with their feet boxing usually wins the fight.

I disagree that nobody throws a good mid level body kick, I have gotten kicked in the liver a few times, and I have kicked a few livers. I’ve also never done karate and have landed body kicks on karate guys.
I’ve found over loading them with a combo of 3-4 punches and then throwing a fast front kick usually works.
Jabs are usually done without putting mass behind them, but you can also KO people with a jab (like Kliyshko,,or Foreman).
But if you want to hook, fat and strong arms are great. You can twist all yoir body momentum into a hook.
For uppercut and 1-2 again like the jab youd want more muscle around your shoulder and chest than forearm.
For frappling you want really strong back and abs and be able to twist.
A fighter eventually will have to find out what type of muscles and body he has and do best with it. E.g. look at Foreman, who had thick dense bones, he used his mass for all attacks, while in his youth he never tried to use his twisting momentum, he just clubbed people. Mayweather jr uses a lot of twisting momentum rather than mass so he has great core miscles.
Manny pacquiao relies on forwards momentum, so his main muscles are legs and shoulder
What's the point of climbing a mountain? Or capturing a beautiful landscape in paint? Or training for your favorite sport? Or cultivating any hobby? Why ever try to better yourself when you'll just work and die?
Anyone feel like mma bjj boxing and etc doesnt have that much exceptional atheletes? It seems all the best atheletes in america go to "real sports" not combat sports
I think it’s just different kinds of athletes. Most athletes are only professional level at one sport. I don’t think lance armstrong would make a good baseball player and I don’t think kobe bryant would make a good wrestler.
Why would a top tier athlete with legitimate chances are a major professional league go into a sport that turns them into CTE scrambled egg brains by 35?
And I understand this argument can be used for the NFL, too. Honestly I agree, I think the whole league should be scrapped. But at the moment, the money pulls people to the nfl and the risk of CTE is greater in combat sports. Not to mention you're beating up your face and bones more in combat sports.
It's called "Cauliflower Ear"; it's a common sign of someone being experienced in fighting-sports (along with Boxer's Nose). You see someone with those kinds of ears then chances are they know a thing or two about fighting at least.
It happens when the cartilage gets broken and the space gets filled with blood which then clots. Typically happens when you're hit really hard or your ear gets crushed during grappling
It's reversible if treated within a few hours of the injury occurring, if the blood isn't yet clotted the doctors can just drain it and unfrick the cartilage.
Some people don't get it fixed because they either don't care or because it's generally recognized as a mark of a "tough guy"

>implying Sean doesn't also carry
I've come to find that punching power is mainly in the swing and your wrist/hands ability to absorb the blow without injury. Of course you don't need to be bloated to fight. Punch power comes from your hips and legs anon. You’re basically using your hips to throw your hands like a yo yo.
t. grappling and boxing gay
Swinging a baseball bat is another analogy, but this is very accurate. Striking (like everything) is all in the hips.

Punching power comes from genetics+technique. Of course muscles help but main source of power is genetics like everything else in life.
is that Liston? perfect example though. wide shoulders, long arms, big fist, robust bones.
Max Baer is another perfect example, a guy that was pretty much skinny. but natural genetics for punching power

Hahaha Racist moron BTFO by African god
>boer
>not racist (with good reason)
The REAL African champion.
He's middleweight not heavyweight.
He needs to make sure he doesn't go over.
>peak male performance
>manlet
No one cares if you’re in shape or can fight as a manlet. Big deal you can fight other manlets in the manlet pit, you’re like betting on two spastics having a fight you’re a joke. have a nice day if you’re under 5’11
Someone washed like Conor who is 5'6 could probably kill 99,999% of this planets human population including 6'5 gymbros
BAHAHAHAHAHA OH NOOOO YOU MANLETS SERIOUSLY DONT BELIEVE THIS RIGHT? Holy fricking shit take your meds manlet chud, any 5’11 fat alcoholic could rape the 5’6 pro fighters effortlessly. They have like 100lbs on these little chuds you honestly think Mchomosexual can overpower them? Sad
100lbs of fat only hinders you.
Gotta find the Shawn Ryan podcast with this old ass navy seal, small dude, real small frame, telling a story about fist fighting this 7 foot tall dude outside of the bar and winning.
Long story short, you're delusionally moronic and someone shorter than you clearly molested you as a child
>lemme find a podcast of some guy larping
anon you are moronic as frick go back to lurking or /heem/
Navy seal bar fight stories have a 90% lie rate.
>lanklets think they have 100lbs on anyone except a 9yo girl
Since when was 6'1" manlet? What's the new cutoff?
People are just trolling lol. Everyone on the internet claims 6
irl manlet is under 5’10. on the internet, under 6’0
nou sean weet wat ons weet nie
>peak male performance
>lost
lmao
well he did kick his ass.
Turns out that when all other things are equal, size and strength are the deciding factor.
More people admire 200lb football players.
>Amerifats admire fat handeggers
ftfy
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
will we get another mental breakdown after his L against DriBVLL?
Go back to getting a pearl necklace from your dog, gynosanya
why dont you show GSP?
>what is the point of doing something israelites don't approve of?
You fell for it
There is no point. It's useless. You'd think someone who works out all the time would be good at fight or flight. But bodybuilders are shit at both
>Peak male performance
>Lost to the GOAT Dircus Du Plessis
Why do ppl even like Sean?
He beat Pisreal lasagne
So? Who cares Sean is a cry baby saying men should cry and then cries head butt when he loses. Glad he got beaten by his dad tbh lol
>Verification not required
I'm kinda glad he lost, he's getting kinda annoying and people pretend he's some psychopath fighter while his whole game is parrying and jabs. This also felt like a Apex fight
Surprisingly lack of muslim rats shitting up the mma chat with khabib talk, very rare online
Shut up b***h
