pork lard is usually also full of pufa bc they feed the pigs pufa rich onions/corn feed to fatten them
it also has a bunch of pesticides and phytoestrogens from the feed
beef tallow doesnt have the same problem bc the bacteria in their rumen saturate the fats they consume and filter out any toxins
so beef tallow or any ruminant animal fat is okay
lard is still marginally better than pure PUFA vegetable/sneed oil, but should still be avoided

butchers throw it directly into the trash can, because they cant sell it. after they take more than they can possibly use for themselves and their friends, they will gladly let you take whatever else they have.

hit them up on marrow as well. you might have to pay a bit for that, but still going to be the cheapest calories you've had since dollar store ramen.

avocado is a meme food. its fine and tasty as a fruit, but even there it aint worth spending what people are charging.

avocado oil is every bit as refined as all of the refined nutrients your pop diet science sources told you to avoid.

          Anonymous

The material being refined matters. It’s not all the same.

            Anonymous

yeah, if you have to pick a refined oil to eat raw, avocado oil is going to be healthier than seed oil. but you aren't going to eat it raw, you are going to use it for cooking, in which case avocado falls straight into the shit tier of options in a field where you have multiple A grade options available for dirt cheap.

most of your liquid at room temperature oils have a higher percentage PUFAs to their solid alternatives. so you are looking at oils that will go rancid from exposure to light, or just from sitting for a while. there's no intelligent point to using them.

honestly, the only time i eat coconut oil is spreading it on saltines like it's butter if i am just dead as frick lazy and willing to eat some shit carbs.

i just bought a pound of butter for $3 today, i bought a liter of extra virgin olive oil for like $7 a month ago. i keep my omega 3's up by eating beef and eggs daily, then i'll have a salmon filet every once in a while.

That's called clarifying butter. You boil off the small amount of water in it and also cook and filter out the small amount of milk solids.

It's not necessarily better overall. It does increase the smoking point, so you can sear meats at higher temps.
