When I started doing real sports. Pretty much immediately. As a low body fat, high musculature alpha male, you get outperformed by seemingly skinnyfat middle aged boomers so easily it's not even funny.
The gym is a a safe space for people who are afraid of competition and performance, pretty much.

When I saw my first athlete.
I'd go as far as saying pure sports training will never make you aesthetic - if you want to look good, you NEED to do 3x10 high volume bodybuilding routines.
Also, bodybuilding will 100% reduce your performance so at some point you will have to choose between looking good and being good,
