Isn't that really shitty for you dopamine receptors, like fricking them up long term? I think I read something about this.

I get Methylphenidate since 2 Months. Really fricking changed my life. Wouldn't be on this board if I didn't get diagnosed. I wanted to do something else, than just taking drugs, so I got into boxing and fitness now. Pretty fricking great. Also Methylphenidate replaced every other drug I took before, even alcohol.
Maybe I switch to vyvanse some day but for now it's ok like this.

        Anonymous

No, it actually improves brain function long term. And if you like Methylphenidate, try Yvanse. It's practically the same but has even better results.

          Anonymous

Long term usage with increased dosage thanks to tolerance leads to some form of neurotoxicity which will raise the probability of nervous system diseases when you get older. Meth and Dexedrine are better than Adderall because of the lower dosage overall.

How should we think then? I spend about 5 hours every day sitting at a day studying abstract mathematics, just me and my tablet + some books. I go thru a frick ton of material each day but it does require a ton of discipline and a ton of caffeine.
Some days I do way more and some days I take vyvanse and I do even more.
I get very good results from this.

Evolution arguments are very weak. You can find meaning -and motivation- in the most mundane thing if you find a good reason for it.
If you are directionless then yes, witnessing the results of your work is more rewarding than not.

The online one I’m making way slower progress on and it’s fricking torture. I think it stems from the fact that you can’t actually witness the progress since it’s not tangible so it’s hard to get motivated.

The binding affinity is different, there is no exitory neuron death the metabolism is different. Amphetamine by itself is not confirmed to be neurotoxic unlike methamphetamine which by itself is neurotoxic. You can cause neurotoxicity trough other means wirh amphetamines but the molecule itself is not neurotoxic and the cardiovascular side effect profile is also very very different. Its not the same just cause it looks similar amd you shoulw know that

For example gabapentinoids are a good example they are all chemically seem very similar but have very different effects on fhe cns. You Argumentation is dumb and you most likely didn't get a degree in a proper country or just lied a real pharmacist should know this. I have a few more examples where chem structure and even somewhat similar binding affinities have somewhere or rarher different effects and side effect profiles

      Anonymous

Overlay the molecules. Very very similar.
Research the mechanism of action on the brain. Essentially identical.
Even the doses are pretty much the same.
They are prescribed for the same conditions.
Don't open your mouth if you haven't done your research.

        1) o2 is structurally similar to o3, try breathing the latter
        2) mechanisms on the brain are very different: one blows holes in your brain and the other one blows zero holes in your brain
        3) n/a because the compounds themselves are very different
        4) meth is extremely rarely ever prescribed for ADHD; to the point where most people have never even heard of this being a thing.
        5) you hate being wrong so you speak condescendingly

Of course they are, you fricking idiot. Adderall is composed of amphetamine salts which are a precursor to meth. Meth is more effective and far more addictive, but their basic mechanism is exactly the same.

I have no clue how some people could ever work out on this stuff either. You should definitely wait 8-10 hours after taking it before you want to work out again unless you want to feel like dying because your hearts racing like crazy

I had the exact same experience with Yvanse. I thought I was just imagining it. But apparently, low doses of amphetamine do improve brain function long term.

Its completely dogshit for working out and will absolutely frick your heart up if you exercise while youre on it, but if you ADHD you can use this stuff to permanently alter your brain in a positive way. Here are the changes that i noticed in my behaviour after 2 years on Vyvanse, even on days where i am off the meds
      >much more reserved and generally calmer
      >less forgetful
      >less impulsive
      >easier to think about complicated stuff, especially math
      >anxiety is now much weaker because i dont constantly frick everything up by doing careless mistakes or by forgetting important things
      >can now deal with frustration and anger without throwing autistic tantrums
      >much easier to do tasks that dont instantly give me a dopamin reward
Some people told me that my personality changed a lot during the last 2 years and while this might be a bad thing for some i personally am very happy about this, because i like myself much, much better the way i am now

Not Adderall but Yvanse, but yeah, that shit is magical.

What's the scientific difference between Adderall and crystal meth?

      Anonymous

Meth has an n-methyl group attached to the amine group. This increases its lipophilicity, allowing it to permeate the blood-brain barrier better. Amphetamine is often considered more jittery and has more physical side effects, meth is more cerebral. Meth is also more neurotoxic, but not by much.
