Where did this meme about coming back stronger from a deload come from? I always come back drastically weaker despite eating the same and only doing active recovery like walking

de loads are usually less than a week, not taking 2 months off and eating Goyslop like you do

how long were your deloads bro?
for me, my deloads is when i am sick, so after a week of sickness when i come back my nervous system feels fresh, and apart from 1 or 2 first workouts after week off feel meh later on i feel like i can push myself more
7 days I skipped 3 workouts I feel and look better but I am not pushing around close to the same weight after a week back in it
>only doing active recovery like walking
Huh? Maybe I'm the moron but for me deloading is just reducing the weight I'm lifting by like 30% and not going to complete failure at the gym. I still lift.
Am I doing this wrong?
No, you are doing it right
To be fair I've come back from deloads stronger before
It's when you're going super intense all the time, never skipping days, really pushing yourself every workout. You end up never truly rested and recovered, burned out. Then when you take it easy for a week or two, just half arse it, no more PRs, go through the motions, it's like you return refreshed
It took that for me to finally hit 315 on bench. Most people don't need them, if you're benching less than 2pl8 there's absolutely no point. They're only necessary if you're really pushing yourself and hitting big numbers, it's nice just to give your body some rest
the part about benching less than 2pl8 is true, yet I always see the dyels still benching 1pl8 doing de-loads
you only need them if you're actually going heavy
If you never lift heavy a deload isnt going to help at all
It’s a meme. It’s meant for elite powerlifters- all of whom are on steroids. If youre benching 500 and squatting 700 giving your nervous system time to recover can be beneficial and the gear will prevent muscle loss. Deloading as a natty benching sub 350 is moronic. Not necessary and you will likely lose muscle. If you need a few days off then take them. If you’re hurt then rest obviously. But you do not need to deload as an intermediate and below natty
What's a deload? Is that like the time you spend natty after your roid cycles?
>deload after going balls to the wall for a while on gear
Wow, can’t believe I’m stronger even after like 2 weeks since the last time I hit this muscle hard
>deload after doing normal/low volume as a natty
Wow, now I’m weaker and smaller. That was moronic.
>be consistently lifting heavy, not (you)
>muscles barely recover, tendons, smaller muscles and bones are lagging and gradually building up injuries
>its crippling your potential strength
>deload and let them heal
>come back up to see you can lift more
How hard of a concept was it to grasp?
Damn you really typed all that out and thought that sounded smart didn't you?
I’ve had the exact opposite experience. Everytime I deload, I come back stronger. Only thing that sucks is losing my pump.
Did you eat a plenty of carbs and protein while you deloaded? Cause the point of a deload is to back off of tearing your muscles for a small period and allow them time to rebuild themselves. It defeats the purpose if you don’t fuel your body with what is needed to repair your muscles.
From fatigue to fitness ratio. You build up fatigue from a constrant progressive overload. Fitness increases, but because of enormoust fatigue your performance doesn't increase. You do deload. Fitness stays the same. Fatigue is gone. Performance shoots into space.
No need to deload. I just sometimes take two off days instead of one, or if I have a short vacation like five days then that's my deload which is basically skipping two or three training sessions.
You must not be very strong if you're not stronger after a deload.
