Unironically goodwill. You can get name brand clothes like Nike and Adidas for 5 dollars when new it's 80 dollars. Got a pair of Nike joggers, Adidas track pants, bunch of above the knee shorts and even some new tank tops.
It's hard to find clothes my size since im a S or XS for tight fitting clothes but you can find all the way up to 3XL which I also like for pump covers

Even tucked in, there is a bunch of excess material bunched up in the back. Are there any brands which make decent clothing for men who don't have a pot belly or skinnyfat pear shape? Am I better off learning how to use grandma's old sewing machine and tailoring my own clothes?

Unironically don't buy from american brands as they are made by and for fatasses. Chinese sizes have a much better fit, or use "slim fit" as nowadays it just means normal fit.
Buy the correct sleeve length and neck size and take it to a tailor. Or get a sewing machine and learn how to do it yourself.
Off the shelf nothing is going to fit well, especially on IST or slim physiques. Everything is designed for the American fatass.
