I am talking about over-gripping. It really does help your pullups become more of a pull-over motion in stead of a straight wide pull. Think about it. I attribute my fantastic strength throughout all of the ROM to that, I can pause at any point for days especially the top portion at chest/clavicle level, while I see everyone else desperately kipping their chins above the bar.
hey so when i was younger (17) i could do 20 strict form pull ups but of course i only weighed like 130lbs or some shit. I just started working out again 10 years later and i can do 7 pull ups but my fricking hands are hurt like frick.. Will my grip strength just get better the more i do them and the pain go away? Should i be actively trying to strengthen them aside from just doing pull ups?
I hurt my left deltoid doing two fingered pullups. 2 weeks later, still hurt, but pain almost gone. Was also sore from the day prior and didn't let my body properly rest.. anyways, idk the answer to this
Was watching a Juji vid where they had dudes doing dead hang from spinning handles.
Does full grip actually make spinning handle lifts and hangs harder?
For lifts in particular it seems like a lot of dudes go underneath and have their hand like a J-hook.
That seems to defeat the whole purpose of the handle.
But for hangs I'm wondering if maybe thumb underneath actually contributes to your hand rolling back and off.
>forearmlet detected. armwrestlers do it all the time
nah my forearms are fine, although depends more on the grip of the bar itself
but still, better cns acitvation using an actual grip, I hold my position firmly
yall homies aint even reppin a few plates
False grip is wrist over bar like picrel. To answer the question though I personally prefer thumb over bar for pull ups. I feel like it gives me a sturdier grip (since my thumb is involved) although the image claims otherwise.

This is what I am talking about, except I otherwise grip it normally. I don't even do muscle-ups, I just always did pullups this way because it feels much better.
Listen up >thumb around the bar = normal grip >thumb not around the bar = thumbless grip >wrists in flexion on top of the bar like in

This is the truth
You dumb moron, no one talks about a false grip because it's an extremely specialized movement. As I said, it's not the same as a thumbless/suicide grip AT ALL. Look at

, see how his wrists are in flexion and are on top of the bar? THAT is a false grip. You have no idea what you're talking about

I don't even grab the bar anymore, now I suspend my hands in the air just below the bar via figure 8 straps instead. Later dyels
so I don't even use any of these since I don't even grab the bar anymore lmao

"thumbless grip" isn't the term, moron. that's called suicide grip. now go do that grip irl

Dude I just told you, there's a huge difference between a thumbless/suicide grip and a false grip. Suicide grip is just a normal grip but you don't wrap your thumb around the bar. With a false grip your wrists are literally on top of the bar and they're in flexion instead of neutral. If you actually tried a false grip you would be much weaker at first since you actually need more forearm strength to hold your wrists in flexion the entire time. Seriously shut the frick up, you have no idea how any of this shit works.
And again, I don't give a shit because I don't use any of these since I don't even grab the bar anymore when I do pullups. Not my problem lmao
None, over-grip the bar, meaning hands more parallel with the floor/pronated.
"Full grip" can also be referred to as normal fricking grip. Use that unless you have some sort of very specific goal and stop thinking about it.
Like would make sense if your particular goal was a muscle up. Otherwise, it's just random bullshit for no reason, like "False Grip" in your picture.
As
said - the effect on muscles being used is absolutely minimal.
Nah, it gives you better leverages and also helps with the grip. Makes pulling in a semi-circle easier, and pausing at clavicle/chest level.
Just do what's comfortable, Jesus Christ
1 finger grip
explain how the false grips would work the lats more.
Takes some of the work off of your forearms
i do both often and can you tell its not even a noticeable difference, IT DOESNT FRICKIN MATTER

Towel pullups.
>towel pullups
That’s a great tip and easy to set up. Thanks m8
underhand grip
Depends on the bar. I'll go monke on a very wide one
i use falls grip to help with grip strength

stay on leddit and ask there homosexual
False grip is the only ”real” grip imo.
If you’re pulling yourself over a wall, that’s how you’re going to grip it
Except that climbing over a wall utilizes leg drive and dipping and differs vastly from pulling yourself up a bar lol
I don't have hands anon.
I can't tell you.
I'll call my brother, he has hands, he'll tell you.
thanks for asking your brother for us

Kek. Thanks frens
Hi, I'm the brother.
I have hands.
False grip is the best way to pull up.
whichever grip you like the most 🙂
Neutral grip.
I hurt my left deltoid doing two fingered pullups. 2 weeks later, still hurt, but pain almost gone. Was also sore from the day prior and didn't let my body properly rest.. anyways, idk the answer to this
>two fingered pullups
pullup while getting fingered ??
Yes.
Full grip to avoid elbow tendonitis. No good reason to use false grip, no benefits and a higher chance of injury.
Can't tell which is better, but I personally do full grip chin-ups, climbing grip for wide pull ups.

>doing any significant amount of weight
>using thumbless grip
pick one
if you lifted, you would know
>can cup entire hand underneath without thumb
>thumb forces harder grip on giant fricking BBC sized gripper
no shit
>he can’t false grip with added weight
forearmlet detected. armwrestlers do it all the time
this is not a false grip lmao

you first bozo
have a nice day
I agree with
have a nice day
Depends on the lift.
I switch between full/false for squat depending on how I'm feeling that day upper body wise.
Pull-ups with false grip makes them feel stronger, something about letting that pinky finger get in on the action.
I use false grip. In my experience full grip can give thumb / wrist / inner-elbow pain.
>ur a skelly haha frick u
Yes I'm aware thanks.
how tall are you
6'2"

>homosexual zoomers calling suicide grip "false grip"
"false grip" is a term from gymnastics, frogtard
Then go do your gaynastics routine. This is a weightlifting board. We call it suicide grip here.

It's odd but pullups seem easier and my form seems to be much better with the false grip.
You start with full and you end with false.
