Was recently recommended to replace my occasional soda entirely with sparkling water. About four days into it and frick man, I guess sugar addiction is real, splitting headaches all the way. Not even avoiding the sparkling water helped so its not them. Didn't realize they were fricking me up that hard.

I did it gradually over 1 month from 2l to 1l to 20oz and now I'm down to a can every other day. I've tried cold turkey or even 2l to 20oz before, never worked for me.

I only bought it when it was on sale, now 2L are $2 and 12-packs are $7 or more.
some day in early 2017 while having lunch at granny's and drinking some fanta, after finishing that glass, i said "frick this shit, i'm quitting all soda", and since that day, i've had a total of like 5 sips of soda, 3 of them to test if it got me hooked again, and the other 2 was one time some dude who made homemade soda asked me to try it
but other than that, I essentially quit 6 years ago, I cannot fricking believe how disciplined i was during my late teens, nowadays if I were to say "frick this shit, i'm quitting x", i would go on a binge within 3 days

soda gives me stomach aches and bloating so I am instantly disgusted when I see a can. Beer gets you drunk at least and doesn't give me the urge to scrub it off my teeth 5 minutes after drinking it.
I stopped drinking it a while ago. Never looked back. You basically have no temptation once you quit. It’s really a bizarre thing. It’s basically candy but people drink it with their dinner.
I was a fat frick drinking a lot so I had a pretty crazy sugar withdrawal when I quit

I very occasionally drink a Gini. Haven’t bought it in months. Cold water tastes great.
I switched to Zevia. It's more expensive but at least there's no artificial sweeteners or sugar.
