Frick. Can’t argue with those digits. Any tips? I usually cook 7-10 at a time

french omelette, easiest way to cook 6-8 eggs. no you don't need that much butter either if you have a good non stick pan

        >Let the water boil first
        >then add eggs
        >wait 7 minutes at max
        >immediatelly put the eggs under the cold tap water to stop the cooking process
        >until the hot water is replaced with cold water
Thats how you propperly boil an egg, the white will be fully cooked and the yolk will be nice and creamy. If you want a solid yolk but not overcooked, do the same thing but boil for up to 9 minutes.

This is the way, 7 minutes is the perfect amount of time, I usually have a bowl of cool tap water I dump them in immediately after. The yolk is perfect every time

Hard boiled eggs are unappetizing unless made into devilled eggs. I suggest soft boiled.

I bought a Vobaga egg steamer because
          1. steaming is better than boiling
          2. using a steaming basket in a pot is a nuisance
          3. every other egg steamer is made from plastic

It's one of the best purchases I ever made. Pic related.

how much did it cost you I literally only eat soft boiled eggs so this looks nice. what's your method for cooking in one of these

              Anonymous

I got it from vobagaofficial.com where they are always 50% off and I found a coupon code (VOBAGA10OFF) for another 10% off. The ones on Amazon are majorly overpriced when I checked.

The cooking method is just add water and press button. The amount of water you add determines how cooked the eggs are. It comes with a guide. 40ml of water is soft boiled. I measure the water with a digital scale that is used for precise measurements (300g max scale with 0.01g precision).

You have to run the eggs under cold water after the cooker finishes or they continue cooking with their own heat.

I skip the step where you pierce the eggs with a hole. Most eggs don't crack when cooking so I prefer keeping the shell in tact so that ZOG water doesn't leech into the egg. Alternatively you could cook them with spring water since the water requirements are so low.

It's the only all stainless steel egg cooker I could find. Everything about it is perfect to me. I soft boil (steam) a dozen eggs a day in it. I clean it with citric acid. You could also clean it with vinegar but vinegar is smellier and you can't mix your own acid levels. I usually mix 10% citric acid for cleaning.

Using a regular steaming basket is not any more difficult.

              Anonymous

I used a steaming basket like that for a few months before buying the egg steamer.
              1. It's more difficult to clean
              2. It's more difficult to secure the eggs (they roll around)
              3. You have to place the eggs in the basket after the water is boiled for consistent results
              4. It takes longer and is more work (boil water first, add eggs, time eggs manually)

With how many eggs I eat I am very happy with buying a dedicated egg steamer. Absolutely worth it.

You can even just take a pot, put a bit of water on the bottom, wait until it boils and place your eggs in there and cover. Works the same.

Care to explain why steaming is better?

              Anonymous

It gets perfectly consistent results because there's no temperature differential caused by touching the bottom of the pot. They also don't get bounced around from boiling which increases chances of breaking. And in my experience the end result is easier to peel probably because they cook evenly from all sides.

If I do 7 minutes the shell sticks like a b***h, so I do 9 always

Those yolks are fine. Overcooked yolks would have a greenish layer on top. If you want the yolk to be softer you can cook less.

I hard boil eggs like this
        >put dozen eggs in a pot
        >fill pot with cold water until 1" (2.5 cm) above eggs
        >add tsp salt and tbsp vinegar to make them easier to peel
        >cover and bring to a boil on high
        >once you have a rolling boil remove from heat and let it stand
        >8 mins for soft orangy yolk
        >10 mins for fluffy yellow
        >12 mins for firmer yellow yolk
        >fill a bowl with cold water and some ice
        >when time's up move the eggs to the cold water and let them sit for a few minutes
        >enjoy

Depends on how you scramble them. Good scrambled eggs are still juicy. If you are overcooking them to the point where they feel dry you are doing it wrong. My favorite way is to let them cook a little without breaking the egg yolk like you would a sunny side up egg and after a while when the whites have cooked a little you mix it all together for like 30 sec max before you take it out of the pan.

7th week of eating 36 eggs a day, shit is magical, had a good cut with strength still increasing. Could be also because I was bed sick for months and and my 4 month absence had a quick relapse cause of muscle memory. Doing my blood work and composition test next Monday to see what has happened. If it’s good I’ll be continuing it cause it is easy as frick and saves me a lot of time.
4x9 of raw eggs and 3 bananas and 1 apple. In September doing a new blood test and then hopefully continuing but adding 200g of cheese and I’m ready for a bulk.

There are a couple of steps to make a good Poached egg.

        1. Get water to boiling
        2. Add table spoon of vinegar
        3. Whisk the water untill you get a whirpool then quickly add your egg into the center.
        4. Wait ~1-2 minutes. The eggwhites cook really fast.
        5. Fish out gently, let the water drip off and serve.

It helps to precrack your egg and put it into a small cup so the whisking and pouring occur faster.

What’s the healthiest way to eat eggs? Obviously raw is moronic because you don’t absorb most of the protein ignoring the small risk of salmonella. So when it comes to heating and cooking them, what’s healthiest? Taste isn’t relevant. Is boiling them or pan cooking better?

scrambled, the important part is to cook it on low heat and just enough to cure it if you're worried about salmonella.
