Those are overcooked
Frick. Can’t argue with those digits. Any tips? I usually cook 7-10 at a time
french omelette, easiest way to cook 6-8 eggs. no you don't need that much butter either if you have a good non stick pan
can't put a french omelette into a ziplock and snack on them trough the day
>Let the water boil first
>then add eggs
>wait 7 minutes at max
>immediatelly put the eggs under the cold tap water to stop the cooking process
>until the hot water is replaced with cold water
Thats how you propperly boil an egg, the white will be fully cooked and the yolk will be nice and creamy. If you want a solid yolk but not overcooked, do the same thing but boil for up to 9 minutes.
This is the way, 7 minutes is the perfect amount of time, I usually have a bowl of cool tap water I dump them in immediately after. The yolk is perfect every time
Hard boiled eggs are unappetizing unless made into devilled eggs. I suggest soft boiled.
I bought a Vobaga egg steamer because
1. steaming is better than boiling
2. using a steaming basket in a pot is a nuisance
3. every other egg steamer is made from plastic
It's one of the best purchases I ever made. Pic related.
how much did it cost you I literally only eat soft boiled eggs so this looks nice. what's your method for cooking in one of these
I got it from vobagaofficial.com where they are always 50% off and I found a coupon code (VOBAGA10OFF) for another 10% off. The ones on Amazon are majorly overpriced when I checked.
The cooking method is just add water and press button. The amount of water you add determines how cooked the eggs are. It comes with a guide. 40ml of water is soft boiled. I measure the water with a digital scale that is used for precise measurements (300g max scale with 0.01g precision).
You have to run the eggs under cold water after the cooker finishes or they continue cooking with their own heat.
I skip the step where you pierce the eggs with a hole. Most eggs don't crack when cooking so I prefer keeping the shell in tact so that ZOG water doesn't leech into the egg. Alternatively you could cook them with spring water since the water requirements are so low.
It's the only all stainless steel egg cooker I could find. Everything about it is perfect to me. I soft boil (steam) a dozen eggs a day in it. I clean it with citric acid. You could also clean it with vinegar but vinegar is smellier and you can't mix your own acid levels. I usually mix 10% citric acid for cleaning.
thank you based vobago salesanon. I think I will get one of these.
based. I have a plastic one, and it makes a fire alarm sound when it's done. what sound does the vobaga make?
A very gentle clicking sound. I've never missed the sound when I am in the same room as it but I have considered using Apple's sound recognition accessibility feature to recognize the click and send an iOS notification.
Using a regular steaming basket is not any more difficult.
I used a steaming basket like that for a few months before buying the egg steamer.
1. It's more difficult to clean
2. It's more difficult to secure the eggs (they roll around)
3. You have to place the eggs in the basket after the water is boiled for consistent results
4. It takes longer and is more work (boil water first, add eggs, time eggs manually)
With how many eggs I eat I am very happy with buying a dedicated egg steamer. Absolutely worth it.
I see. I don't clean mine besides rinsing it, since the shells never break.
Water leaves water deposits. Needs to be cleaned with acid (e.g. vinegar, citric acid).
You can even just take a pot, put a bit of water on the bottom, wait until it boils and place your eggs in there and cover. Works the same.
Care to explain why steaming is better?
It gets perfectly consistent results because there's no temperature differential caused by touching the bottom of the pot. They also don't get bounced around from boiling which increases chances of breaking. And in my experience the end result is easier to peel probably because they cook evenly from all sides.
If I do 7 minutes the shell sticks like a b***h, so I do 9 always
I'm using cold water after, what else can I do
Those yolks are fine. Overcooked yolks would have a greenish layer on top. If you want the yolk to be softer you can cook less.
I hard boil eggs like this
>put dozen eggs in a pot
>fill pot with cold water until 1" (2.5 cm) above eggs
>add tsp salt and tbsp vinegar to make them easier to peel
>cover and bring to a boil on high
>once you have a rolling boil remove from heat and let it stand
>8 mins for soft orangy yolk
>10 mins for fluffy yellow
>12 mins for firmer yellow yolk
>fill a bowl with cold water and some ice
>when time's up move the eggs to the cold water and let them sit for a few minutes
>enjoy
thanks brosky
hve been having a hard time with the damn yolks. I want them fluffy/soft and the white solid, but I always frick up
>so called free thinkers when they see the product of any single digit number and 111
Schizo
>Those are overcooked
Came here to say this. 7 mins is a perfect jammy egg, 9 mins if you must have hardboiled.
should be soft-boiled or raw yolks or else you've destroyed the nutrition which is the reason to eat eggs
does that mean scrambled enjoyers are fricked
Depends on how you scramble them. Good scrambled eggs are still juicy. If you are overcooking them to the point where they feel dry you are doing it wrong. My favorite way is to let them cook a little without breaking the egg yolk like you would a sunny side up egg and after a while when the whites have cooked a little you mix it all together for like 30 sec max before you take it out of the pan.
4 raw eggs in my morning shake
4 cooked eggs in my evening snack
Erry day
Simple as
You have 25 more eggs to go
Still need to 28 more eggs
You still need to eat 30 more eggs
That only fits 7 eggs. You're need a bigger cooker
No. Those are 6 eggs in total. They're cut in half.
Don't worry bro I use my egg cooker multiple times a day.
Not affiliated with Vobaga and I gain no benefit from shilling their egg cooker. Just helping my bros out.
I love this egg cooker so much I bought a second one for my cottage because I was travelling back and forth with my egg cooker.
it doesn't matter. now they are 12.
No, I am not feeding her a bowl of eggs
You don't have to ask her what happened
but you do have to feed her these eggs
Six eggs on the stove right now and not disgustingly overcooked like yours but nice and soft, just a little runny. Delicious.
There we go, six perfectly cooked eggs. I egg mog all of you posers and egglets, never use a timer just going by feeling cooking them perfect every time.
Still overcooked
anon, those are 12
Did you remove the shells with your teeth?
If you add salt while boiling them it helps peel the shells smoothly
those look like shit you fricking gay lmao imagine telling people on the internet you "cook eggs just going by feeling" okay egg whisperer
They look creamy good
>be poor student
>buy cheapest pack of 10 eggs due to this war economy
>boil them
>always 1-3 pop their shells due to the pressure and messes up the kettle
Hmm if only there was a way to prevent the pressure build up.
zoomer do you seriously not know what an egg piercer is?
Steam them instead. They're much better that way.
homie, you about to eat ALL them eggs???
That negga about to eggsplose frfr
Just bought a tennie.
add mustard and we are talking
Me
obviously not, a lot of chickens have to do die for this shit, don't you feel bad for them
No not at all.
why are you a psychopath
life begins at birth not when a chicken cums
Gtfo homie. They are unfertilized eggs. It's like eating a period.
When I was a child, I lived next to a farmer who had chicken. One day I was trying to pick up anf pet one of them, like I usually did, and it pecked me in the nose leaving an ugly scar that made me forever unloved my women.
So no, I shall have my vengeance. 1 roasted chicken a day, 2 eggs a day that I eat while the chick roasts pretending that they're her children.
And a multivitamin.
Ate 3 eggs over easy with barley toast and a punch of choloula. I est around 10. Will have a can of tuna or sardines for an afternoon snack and that will take me to dinner
7th week of eating 36 eggs a day, shit is magical, had a good cut with strength still increasing. Could be also because I was bed sick for months and and my 4 month absence had a quick relapse cause of muscle memory. Doing my blood work and composition test next Monday to see what has happened. If it’s good I’ll be continuing it cause it is easy as frick and saves me a lot of time.
4x9 of raw eggs and 3 bananas and 1 apple. In September doing a new blood test and then hopefully continuing but adding 200g of cheese and I’m ready for a bulk.
Picrelated is my breakfast
>10 egg carton
What nightmarish hellscape of a country does this?
not him, but every country on earth?
It's 6, 12 or 24
do an update when the bloodwork comes in. i'm interested.
how are the farts?
I will, I’ve written down everything from my exercises and lift numbers and all that.
After the second week they only got bad when I had carbs other than fruits.
Anon here's a tip to easily remove shells:
>ice bath after cooking
>roll eggs on your counter to break the shell
>put the eggs in the ice water and remove the shell or run them under cold water
>make sure the water gets underneath the shell
>getting tap water on your eggs
The way to peel eggs is to get your finger under the membrane. Don't pull the shell off the surface of the egg, push your finger around under the membrane.
lovely raw yolk on a warm day, can't beat it
Fried eggs or boiled eggs? Which is better?
I soft boil (steam) my eggs just because there is less mess and it's way easier. Dietary fat is good for you but I get enough from cheese and meats, plus the fats in the yolk.
Every single day.
My preferred method is poached. I love the juicy runny yolk but fricking hate peeling and fricking with eating soft-boiled eggs, so poaching is a life-saver.
i'm a cooklet so i can never manage to get these right. tried asking on IST but they're all unironically tubbies obsessed with fast food. I don't think anyone actually cooks over there
There are a couple of steps to make a good Poached egg.
1. Get water to boiling
2. Add table spoon of vinegar
3. Whisk the water untill you get a whirpool then quickly add your egg into the center.
4. Wait ~1-2 minutes. The eggwhites cook really fast.
5. Fish out gently, let the water drip off and serve.
It helps to precrack your egg and put it into a small cup so the whisking and pouring occur faster.
Do you have any source on nutrition lost with properly cooking the egg?
Because that half cooked yolk bullshit seems disgusting. I'd lose all the nutrition do to not being able to eat that nasty shit.
Boil > Ice bath
What's the shelf life of hardboiled eggs in the fridge? I have some from 8-9 days ago and had one this morning and it seemed ok. I haven't shit myself so I'm guessing it's fine.
look at those american yolks lmao
that's just how they look if you boil them, then let them sit in the fridge for a day
that only happens with shitty eggs
good eggs stay orange and never go that blue/green colour
Anyone here tried duck eggs? How do they compare to chicken eggs?
The duck eggs I've eaten had a tougher white after cooking. I found the texture unappealing.
quail eggs are good though. they taste just like chicken eggs but are tiny. beautiful little shells too. me and my girl have been wanting to raise quail, for the eggs and well, for fun too.
What’s the healthiest way to eat eggs? Obviously raw is moronic because you don’t absorb most of the protein ignoring the small risk of salmonella. So when it comes to heating and cooking them, what’s healthiest? Taste isn’t relevant. Is boiling them or pan cooking better?
Soft boiled. Cooked whites and raw yolk.
Interesting, how long would you boil to get that effect? I haven’t hard boiled an egg in a while so I’m guessing it would just be a few minutes less?
scrambled, the important part is to cook it on low heat and just enough to cure it if you're worried about salmonella.
OP here
took a lot of advice in this thread and did a whole new routine this morning. came out much softer and tastier, but I think I could still take them out a minute or two earlier.
thanks frens
Eggbros what the frick do we do if they pulled a double switcheroo and cholesterol turns out to be actually bad.
>still trusting the same israelites who helped poison billions with processed "heart healthy" goyslop
Egg taste good and feel good simple as
You shouldn't be eating eggs in excess anyway. What is excess though? I think that up to 6-8 eggs a day is perfectly fine and my bloods are always great. Cholesterol is bad if you stay on your ass all day and don't move.
Kneel
Me.
