They're basically identical if they're 6 days a week routines. If anything your gay 'science' routine would ensure overtraining.
That's why as soon as these ppl 6 day routines became popular they went along with the ''just do low RPE sets only!''. So you end up with the same template as the original brosplit.
Would it still be overtraining if I did the same lifts/sets/reps but combined one of the two PPL cycles into one 3 hour long ass kicking full body session? PPLxFxx
I love bro split, best routine for just maintaining, PPL is good if you're bulking or a noobie
They're nerds that want to "outsmart" the good looking jocks.
That's why they force this "science" bullshit down your throat.
>'science'
>PPL
le reddit army has arrived
PPL is also a bro split and a moronic one I hate those holier than thou söyslurping fricks
imagine how fricking based onions could be if they just bumped the protein content by like 50%
This is basically what that is. They're pretty good, but I wouldn't feel great replacing an actual meal with one.

oh.. oh no... not the angry video game nerd... whyyyyyy
i thought he drank rolling rock and said racist shit on deleted livestreams... hes promoting THAT shit now
has anyone ever tried
Push
Legs
Arms
Pull
it's called a PLAP routine
Honestly what I've been doing for a while. Through a rest day in the middle and you're rocking
>ASSWR
checked
and yeah I do the PLAP routine with your mom quite often
same finally realized i need a arms day. mine goes push sunday legs tuesday back thursday or wed arms and abs friday rest days in between each workout
I'm an unironic PLAPer
>bro split
the issue with bro splits is that they're not defined properly.
>chest monday
>tricep thursday
this can mean "10 sets of bench press monday, 10 sets of close grip bench thursday" which would basically be two push days.
But it can also mean "I do 10 sets of chest flies monday, 10 sets of tricep pushdowns thursday"
Nobody, I repeat, nobody, is going to their gym to do a bicep or tricep exclusive day. Not even a low-info 16 year old boy.
A brosplit has always been chest/tris, back/bis, shoulders, and legs. Sometimes the latter two can be combined if you only want 3 days a week.
>A brosplit has always been chest/tris, back/bis, shoulders, and legs
the brosplit is chest/back/shoulders/arms/legs
>"arms"
>specific day for the thing you're already working by doing chest, back, and shoulders
Peak moronation unless you are somehow pic-related, in which case doing arms is kind of a moot point. Even the classic Zyzz brosplit circa 2010-2011 didn't have an arms day.
ask me how I know you have no fricking arm development
How?
because you're a POOP HEAD
most people won't get meaningful arm development from chest, back and shoulder exercises past the beginner/novice stages
>most people won't get meaningful arm development from chest, back and shoulder exercises past the beginner/novice stages
Obviously you don't ignore the arm-centric exercises, you just do them *on the same major day that complements them*
Dips are chest day, but also good for your triceps. Then you also do your tricep pulldowns.
Rows are back day, but also good for your biceps. Then you also do your preacher curls.
And so on and so on. Do more isolations if you like.
But setting aside a whole day where you target biceps, triceps, and forearms all at once when you already are hitting them weekly-- and in theory hitting one or more of these muscle groups too soon after their complementary day anyway-- is silly.
but that's garbage because you will pre-exhaust your tris and bis with push/pull exercises, then you will not be able to hit your arms properly, better combine shoulder/chest with bis and back with tris, or have a dedicated arm day
You are already hitting your arms, that's my whole point
13 years in but yes maybe someday
No
Arm day is a meme. Think Rich Piana when you think arm day on IST.
>13 years and still has baby arms
jesus christ man
My arms are huge
Nobody is posting arms and based on argument quality the other guy wins.
this is a first year of lifting thought process. you'll learn you were wrong over time.
yeah, post arms champ
I'm just telling you what's considered a "classic" brosplit
where do you think the arm day shit comes from?
Argue less, you're both right. I don't love brosplits but I must be honest with my critique - people don't do brosplits where they have an entire day for biceps and another for triceps. They have an arm day, or they do bis/tris when they do chest/back. Or, they train their arms when they do shoulders.
It is nerd cope. Love my bro splits.
Just work out. The simple truth is if you do any work out routine, no matter how stupid, you will get strong doing it as long as it has decent volume and weight.
>wide set push ups
>standard push ups
>narrow set push ups
>plank swivels
>plank crab walk
>russian twist
All the failure. .Every day. Takes like 30m.
frequency at 1x p/w will always suck but 2x p/w divided in 6 days is probably too much volume
agreed, but if you program a brosplit with the right lifts you can kinda hit multiple groups per week
like my tris get hit pretty hard 3 times a week on the routine I have going on now, and having a dedicated shoulder day will hit stuff both pushing and pulling
ah, yes, science based training, the so called PPL for roiders
no. thank you
full body 3x reporting in
Since when is PPL "science"
wtf are you homosexuals doing jesus CHRIST have a nice day NOW
Who the frick splits bis and tris? Also I personally split up back and chest from arms with legs, forces me to do it and I'm not worn out by arm day. Also Friday should be for any outside cardio, wether it's a jog around the neighborhood , running as many errands on foot as you can or a pleasant walk with a family member or your love then the weekend is rest. Shoulders can easily be fit in as a last workout on either chest or back, how much more are you really gonna do than lateral raises?
>training more than 3 times a week as a natty
do u Black folk not read menno henselmanns? the science says full body workout is the best
do you even lift?
Mon - Legs
Tue - Legs
Wed - Legs
Thu - Legs
Fri - Legs
Sat - Legs (every day is Caturday you troon)
Sun - Legs
Oldgay detected
for me, it's
legs
chest
back
arms
rest
repeat
I want to add lats to push day. Would that be weird considering I do back in pull day?
My routine ended up kinda lopsided and I do twice as many workouts on pull day so I really don't want to add more.
For me it's phat
Why they have to kill my homie lil phat
Brosplit forms naturally.
Train upper body a few day in a row and as you train what's recoverd and let what isnt rest you'll naturally be bro splitting
my bro split is LEGS-CHEST-BACK-ARMS x infinity no rest days
there’s no set days I do whatever comes next it’s chest today and tomorrow is back and the next is legs and so forth
You must be pretty weak and also a noob if you can sustain lifting everyday with no rest days. That or on gear and just dumb.
This shit theoretically can work if arms and legs are only isolation exersises. Your arms rest on leg day and legs rest during arm day.
I'd be more worried about fatiguing CNS honestly but like I said that's if someone is strong. A noob can get away with a lot but if I tried something like that I'd imagine my compound lifts would start slipping which would also increase risk of injury. I feel lack of rest fast.
For me, it's no leg bro split with just a break on Sundays. Back/Shoulders/Pecs/Arms and repeat
Right only works for beginners/intermediates. There's frequency but the muscles aren't damaged enough in a session before repair to see growth for advanced lifters. Although an entire day for biceps sounds moronic
>right
Free weights is the only way
>left
Machines are useful
I've used a few machines for compounds recently because of an injury and they stimulate the target muscles better than free weight compounds do. Have I been following reddit advice all this time?
That bro split example is a straw man argument, literally nobody does it that way with an entire day just for biceps. 'Arm day', with biceps and triceps, would be more like it. A big bro split one seems to be arms and shoulders, then you got chest and back etc
I try not to pay the anti bro splitters much mind, every dyel redditor who can't even bench 2pl8 thinks his shitty push pull skip legs routine is the ONLY way to train even though there's people training other ways mogging them
>t. just hit 315 on bench
I used to be a PPL gay but the way my arms were lacking was ridiculous. Switched to bro split and the gains were instantaneous
Go PLAP mode
Push
Legs
Arms
Pull
