You're decieved by numbers. Potatoes are high quality energy and can be cooked with high quality fats. Fat soluble grease that makes the potato's micronutrients more bioavailable.

Milk is insanely expensive in my country, I'd go broke by doing gomad. The only food that is cheap is carbs like pasta and rice.

Americans do have cheaper food options, but it's because the legally enforced quality standards are dogshit. If you want to have the same quality as the cheapest crap you can get in the EU you have to pay way more.
