>Only failed runners run ultra. That's a fact.
what's a failed runner?
Not like 99,9% of runners ever turn pro. Some people just do it for themselves. I've just discovered it and I think it's a very novel concept. Wasn't Lance Armstrong a failed Triathlete?
>It requires sidelining most of your life roon. Unless you're sponsored ain't no way to live.
not true. Maybe it's true if you want to do it professionally, but the anon Romania managed to do it
Because you can go to the gym and frick around and still be considered a lifter, you can run for fun a few times a week and still be a runner, but unless you have proof of running for 10 hours at a time nobody will consider you an ultra runner
>I ran a point to point 100 miler. It was cool, but it sucked and when I finished, I couldn't walk for like 3 days.
damn anon, was it a race or did you do it by yourself, where are you from?
It was the Lighthouse 100 race in MI, the last year that they did it. Had never run more than 30 miles before that race, said frick it and went all in with very little training. There's no way I could have done it in a reasonable amount of time by myself without the pressure of a race and having other runners to keep up with. It was one of those experiences I was happy to check off the list, but wouldn't do again, kek.
That requires effort and discipline
>That requires effort and discipline
so does lifting
O.O
lol.

Ultra runners don't run for 10 hours at a time. For most participants an ultra-run is basically an all day hike with some light jogging thrown in.
because my knees are completely fricked from running a half marathon in my mid 30's

did you do it without training first?

did you ever post the garmin badge on /misc/?
ultra runners love attention and have friends
why don't they post on an anonymous imageboard?
