Why aren't you fasting?

>improved insulin sensitivity
>increased autophagy
>reduced inflammation
>improved brain function
>increased growth hormone secretion
>enhanced cardiovascular health
And most importantly, you stay thin with no stupid restrictions or calorie calculations. Plus, you either save a lot of money or spend money on the highest quality food instead of eating garbage three times a day.

It was three years ago, I wasn't fasting back then. My shoulder is fine; I just don't see any reason to get back to the gym, pushups in the morning and cardio outside is sufficient.

You don't get knee and hip pain from walking and cycling.

                Anonymous

You do get knee and hip pain from having weak muscles that don't properly support your joints. Everybody lifts something sometimes.

                Anonymous

I don't have weak muscles; my average cycling ride is 80km. It's always extremes for you guys; you either lift and strong or dyel and weak, nothing in between, lmao.

                Anonymous

you're more likely to end up with shoulder and neck pain from doing cardio instead of ever lifting. unless you're a runner, then obviously you are fricking up your ankles and knees even faster than neglecting other muscle groups can do to their respective joints

                Anonymous

i mean lifting obviously can frick up your neck and shoulders too. in fact the reason people fail to get past a certain strength is almost always due to a combination of inadequate form, posture (throughout the day) and overall balance in the kinds of exercises they do

the real limit to building strength is your ability to continually evolve your muscle memory and continually increase scapular mobility and thoracic extension and flexion rather than getting into a rut and developing muscular imbalances and impingement and tendinitis and shit. its easy to improve your strength and muscle memory and then just take advantage of it in your daily life and hit a wall and even end up injuring yourself due to continually doing the same exercises the same ways instead of continuing to build more strength and better muscle memory

Yes, it does. It causes your body to burn fat reserves for up to 16 hours a day. By simply doing intermittent fasting, and nothing else you can lose weight easily. You’re a fricking well poisoning idiot.

          >It causes your body to burn fat reserves for up to 16 hours a day
What do you think glycogen is for you dumb homosexual. People lose weight on intermittent fasting because they decrease their caloric intake, but it does nothing for growth hormone levels, autophagy, apoptosis, immune regulation, or any of the other benefits you receive from long fasts. You get all your information from sensationalist trendy israelitetube meme "doctors", it's incredibly obvious.

        Anonymous

I disagree, 14 days is not that long, provided that minerals, electrolytes and vitamins are supplemented daily, which I do because I am not a moron. After 10 days I am in a steady state, in deep ketosis, not feeling hungry and I lose fat rapidly. What's not to love?

          Anonymous

It's still a bit extreme. But if you're young and you take your supplements, you'll of course be fine. But I doubt you'll gain any health side effects after a week.

I started at 123 kg and weighed in at 114.9 kg this morning. I account about 3.5 kg for depleted glycogen, bound water and bowel content, which means I should be 4.5 kg of pure fat down so far. I'll definitely complete 14 days and already plan to extend to 21 days, after which I switch to keto for two weeks before I start eating carbs again. I reckon I should be just over 110 kg before I carb up.

Btw meant to add that after the first week to couple months mark you’ll physically notice that it feels like your stomach shrank and that it’s much harder/impossible to eat as much as you did before.

I tried fasting but somehow it didn't help all that much, I felt like complete shit for the first 3 days then I felt basically nothing for the rest, no improvement, no significant weight loss. Then I gained 1-3 kg of weight after each fast when I went back to eating.
I now tried to cut out all sugar, most carbs except for some whole grains rarely and all vegetable/seed oils, and the results are miraculous. I feel amazing, go to the gym every day full of energy and enthusiasm, not like i'm about to attend a torture session, only really feel the need to eat 1-2 meals per day and my weight is plummeting while I feel satiated probably 90% of my awake time. It gets better when you go Carnivore. Intermittent Fasting becomes inadvertent fasting with Carnivore, because you generally only eat 1-2 meals a day within an 8 hour window, by only letting hunger be your guide.

Yup. Sneed oils and refined sugars/hfcs are poison basically. Fun fact, canola oil, one of the most commonly used food oils, wasn’t actually really a food oil until like the 70s when one of our universities GMO’d it enough to remove the unpleasant flavour and toxic acid compounds lol. Before that it was rapeseed oil and used for lamps and lube. They’re feeding us lamp oil.

problem is i'me having constipation issues.
standard dinner: chicken or steak with veggies. maybe some rice. Once in a while go out to shake shack or local chinnese take out: beef and broc with pork fried rice.

Personally, I need lots of protein and carbs. So,I eat lots of them.
I sight shop, if that makes any sense. I walk into the supermarket and grab what I think I want to eat.yesterday i bought a reasonable sized rump (around $9/kg because it was in special) and ended up with over 20 reasonable sized rump steaks at just about 3.50 per serve
I then blew another 30 bucks on veggies because they looked all right amd ate maybe 10 bucks of them. Because I thought I needed to
I what like a fricking champion this morning amd that, my friend, is the Hal,mark of a good meal. When you try tomtake a dump and it just falls out

you *should* eat what you want, but what if you dont? theres an underlying mechanism we have not yet conceptualized that occurs. forcing yourself to bust out of your routine. somehing happens, biologically, spiritually. its too complicated to even properly reiterate. i dont know if its got to do with the dual natures theory of the two hemispheres of your brain competing or your body and mind competing. but it produces tangible effects, as i said, syncronicities in the world itself, as if the creators are rewarding you for engaging in this philosophy/engaging the mindset. its one of the very few ways to perceive divine machinations, or if you prefer, interventions.

I was just gonna do black coffee in the morning, ear some carrots at work, and then two chicken breasts with veggies while slamming water all day. Should I just do that to avoid killing my organs with fasting

carbs from veggies, while seemingly healthy overall, will frick with your ketosis. Consider combining (intermittent) fasting with (low calorie) keto. Eliminate carbs completely and enjoy more satiating meals consisting of proteins and fats. You can still eat reasonable amounts of keto friendly veg like spinach or cauliflower, but don't overdo it (up to 200 g per meal).

Do supplement vitamins every day and add electrolytes (snake juice) on days of fasting. You could do OMAD, or eat (in keto fashion) every other day. With a bit of low effort exercise (walking outdoors/treadmill) you will see and feel the results very soon.

Okay thanks. I want to do OMAD because I think I can stick to that. You say no more than 200g of veggies? Is 2-3 chicken breasts or steak and eggs good? How much am I supposed to eat?

          Anonymous

not just any veggies, keto-friendly veggies. You want to limit your carbs intake to remain in ketosis. 200 g of cauliflower/spinach/asparagus/tomato is ok; 200 g of anything starchy is not.

Chicken breasts are too lean, you'll need to add more fats into the diet. Marbled steak is fine, eggs as well, you can use mayo, butter, bacon, quality sausage (with no added starch), olives, fish, nuts (macadams, peanuts, ...) etc, as long as you maintain a caloric deficit. Protein and fat is filling so you should keep the portions modest. For OMAD you may want to aim at 1200-1500 Cal for the daily meal, depending on your needs.

Both are real. You aren’t a mutted up Black person are you? People are talking about intermittent fasting. For example you only eat for four hours a day. During that window, you can eat whatever you want. This stabilizes your metabolism and lets your body focus on other mechanisms outside of digesting food constantly throughout the day because you eat all the time. Most obese people like yourself are metabolically broken because they eat constantly throughout the day. This is what causes diabetes and obesity. Eating constantly throughout the day. Even if you restrict your calories, you’re breaking your metabolism.

During a fast, the goal is typically to abstain from consuming any calories or substances that could raise insulin levels and disrupt the fasting state. Studies suggest that artificial sweeteners, despite being low in calories, may still trigger an insulin response in the body. This insulin response could potentially break the fast by signaling the body to use glucose for energy instead of relying on stored fat. Sorry no Diet Coke for you fatty.

Here’s the thing. Obviously small amounts of carbs, sugars, or sweeteners only momentarily break a fast due to exhausted, glycogen stores. Under the assumption that you’re not constantly pounding diet, sodas. I think the point was some fatties in the thread think it’s ok to consume artificial sweeteners like water during a fast and it’s ok.

Even so, say they do pound artificial sweeteners. If they’re eating under maintenance levels through “fasting” they’re still going to lose weight. Just because their insulin spikes doesn’t magically produce calories out of thin air like a human fusion reactor

That’s not true if they’re constant, drinking artificial sweeteners, they’re constantly switching off the fat burning mechanisms of intermittent fasting. Causing a yo-yo effect to their metabolism

So if someone ate just a few celery sticks for dinner and pounded artificial sweeteners every day for a month they would lose no weight over the course because the insulin keeps spiking even though they’re really had close to 0 calories to burn in their body the entire time?
If so, this is definitely an interesting subject, haven’t read much about insulin responses and such

I mean my example was pretty extreme but I have also seen opposite from my own experimentation while using artificial sweetener drinks like Fresca and fasting.

If someone were to primarily consume celery sticks (low-calorie and high-fiber) and artificial sweeteners, their overall calorie intake would likely be very low, leading to a caloric deficit. In theory, this could contribute to weight loss over time but sustained low-calorie intake combined with frequent artificial sweetener consumption may have negative effects on metabolism, hunger hormones, and overall health. It really depends on the person. This might not affect someone who is in peak health for their age however, someone who is obese might further deteriorate their metabolic state with this type of strategy. I imagine the hunger cravings would be unbelievable resulting in a catastrophic failure of the fast.

This would make sense and in no way would this ever be a good thing to do. Which is why I always laugh when people try these insane 3day+ fast “challenges” for themselves but always will just rebound harder than before because their body is coping. Going slow and steady will always be the best.
As for the artificial sweetener part, I’m not sure if I’m 100% on board as I’ve tried it myself, granted I don’t pound them and only drink 1 max a day. I can see where it would spike the insulin but I can’t see where it would yo-yo forever on a less extreme example of fasting that I gave above such as just doing regular OMAD. It just seems physically impossible as long as one is under deficit for extended periods of time. But I could see it being the case for a day or two.

Maybe do a strict low-carb OMAD fast for a week then on day 8 drink artificial sweeteners every hour during the fast period and test your blood sugar and keto-sis levels.

Will have to try this… I don’t do keto regardless but seems like it’s worth it.

I think you’ll find day 8 would inhibit ketosis (weight loss) and cause metabolic dysfunction. It’ll probably make you extremely hungry and lethargic.

The points I’ve been trying to stress likely won’t affect someone who is a peak athlete on an intermittent fasting schedule. It’s more so for morbidly obese people consuming artificial sweeteners throughout the day on a fast then complaining intermittent fasting doesn’t work for them.

Or exclaiming, that it’s impossible to do an intermittent fast because of hunger cravings, kek

I get ya, still want to try regardless now just for fun. I’ve already bottomed out on how low I want to go weight wise it’ll be a nice experiment for next cut.

I hate that shit so much and it’s the biggest cope. So many people cope that they NEED three meals a day cause tv lady said so to cover up the fact they have no self control to get their bodies into the habit of changing it to only once a day.

Intermittent fasting only hard for about 48 hours. Then it becomes extremely easy. You consume less food, have less food prep and clean up etc. Easier in my opinion than any other method to drop weight and keep it off.

Exactly bro, I’m so fricking lazy so why would I want to eat more it’s beyond me.
During my 5 years of OMAD I drink the first 4 and my results were okay but not fantastic. I cut out alcohol completely last year and weight just vanished over the course of like 2 months. The israelite juice/poison is real. Now that I’m trying to bulk it’s getting really hard to get in the caps doing OMAD but I’m so used to it at this point I don’t want to stop, especially for having to start it back up when I eventually have to cut again.

I’ve always said that. You’ve been framing the argument from a professional weightlifting point of view, and I’ve been advancing it from the morbidly obese perspective from the start of the conversation.

from the start i have said i have plenty of anecdotal experience with people using artificial sweeteners while fasting and still getting all the benefits, like fat loss and autophagy.

Been only eating dinner for about a month now. Down 7 pounds. Focus is way up. Don't get hungry until about 4pm. I do, however, get real shitty with everyone around me around 5.

Glowies are pushing this to see how people respond. After a while on here, they'll put it on national media and start to tell people it's good.
This is to get people used to starving.

I respect your paranoia, but that's not accurate. Nonetheless, it's true that in the event of a collapse, being accustomed to hunger could be advantageous.

I fast once a week from Thursday evening until Saturday morning/evening depending if I have anything to do. Usually OMAD weekdays and eat a bit more on weekend, weight stays within the same 10 pound range for the past year with this diet and lifestyle. I try to do a 72 hour fast once a month and delay eating until Sunday but I usually get bad headaches Sunday morning and need to eat, probably could make it if I added salts or something to my water. Mainly do it because of a high risk of skin cancer due to being a redhead and I've read that autophagy is one of the best ways to deal with cancer so hopefully doing these fast prevent cancer entirely. Has so far at least in my 30 years on this hellscape.

    >Why aren't you fasting?

Cuz I'm running Black person. Eventually I'm gonna run right off the edge of the world.
Away from Black folk like you, from batshit crazy women and from my countrymen who can barely even read anymore these days.

i usually do, i did keto and omad for a couple years and dropped almost 200lbs. now im used to it and i eat my main meal around 5-6 some day i graze around 9 but usually not a lot. Decouple yourself from your need for food, you really dont need it as often as we eat especially if youre a fat.
