Because weightlifting is a sport, it requires speed, skill, coordination, balance, strength etc

Lifting is just strength, but snatches and cleans are just as much about explosiveness and timing as they are strength

bodybuilding is ultimately a feminine sport. It's not even a sport since there is no objective performance at display, it's more like a beauty contest. The old gen of bodybuilders at least had some personality and charisma, today they're are just genetic freaks with 0 knowledge whatsoever.

It's literally all drugs and nutrition and the training style doesn't really matter that much as long as you do it. A mass monster bodybuilder would not look any different if he changed his training style unless there were something seriously wrong with it.

It's all ego lifting which destroys your joints and nobody even cares or watches anything other than maybe World's Strongest Man and even that requires a bunch of gimmicky events to get people's attention.

If it's not ego lifting the alternative is even worse -- it means you actually think picking things up and putting them down over and over again is fun. That's full blown autism.

          Is sprinting "ego running?"
          Is playing sports "ego gaming?"
Bodybuilders are truly incapable of understanding any motivation beyond self hatred and body dysmorphia

            >Is sprinting "ego running?"
no, but there are much healthier forms of cardio.
            >Is playing sports "ego gaming?"
not necessarily, but sports are actually fun.

Yeah man you just don't get it
Clearly no competitive drive, no desire to find your own limits, content to stay in the shallow end with your little floaties on

Daily reminder the only reason you know Klokov's name is because he's aesthetic and handsome. Bodybuilders just have self-awareness.

Definitely just that, not his Olympic medal and world championship and massive volume of incredible training footage

His looks are the most important attribute by far. I literally can't name another weightlifter other than Klokov or Lu. Also, I like how nobody here is even disputing the fact that "strength athletes" are destroying their bodies. Cope harder, ego lifter.

He's right but there's absolutely nothing wrong with ego lifting. Of course the guys at the highest level are channeling their ego, they absolutely need to do so in combination with their will power and discipline. You don't go down such an extreme path without at least some degree of vanity and desire for glory.

sort of. ilya isn't handsome or aesthetic. everyone knows him. maybe not most americans but everyone else. same with salimi and reza and they're even uglier. same with lasha. klokov is probably a little more famous than all of them though so you're partially right. klokov also put the most effort into documenting everything for social media and marketing himself for life after olympic weightlifting.

It's the same for powerlifting, every regular weightlifter is familiar with the sports and know the main athletes meanwhile powerlifters act like weightlifting doesn't exist.

Powerlifters are just butthurt about weightlifting being in the Olympics (and weightlifting requiring actual athletic talent)
