Why do fasting and keto so often go together?

It seems like people who try one are highly likely to try the other simultaneously.
What is the connection?

You stupid morons should all read what none other than Hippokrates of Kos advised when it comes to fasting. Fasting is natural, especially if you're I'll or want to detox your body. A dog which is ill doesn't eat as it nourishes the illness as well.

Pythagoras made 40 day fasting a requirement for entering his secret religion, as only then you could even have the mental capacity to grasp high IQ knowledge without an ill riddled mind or body.

Your ancestors hunted mammuts for days in a fasted state, there were no refrigerators. Evolution is slow.

And by the way, it was John Kellog who said breakfast is the most important meal, and israelites have been pushing that message to hinder the white man.

If you're not at least living an intermittent fasting lifestyle you're doing something very wrong to your bodies.

You are moronic. How are you going to "detox your body" while trying to kill your liver by eliminating any kind of fuel it can use to function properly
I swear you people are braindead

Study autophagy, which translates into 'the body eats itself' - it basically recycles the bad parts of your cells. A guy in 2016 got the Nobel prize for that proof, but it was kept silent as fasting makes no money for israelites and israelites also don't want the white men to flourish.

Also, nobody knows your body better than your body. If you do extended fasting the fat breaks down into exactly what your body needs and wants, you're basically fueling it with the perfectly adapted food based on your genetics.

And yes, there is not a single person living on this earth who could even come close to the knowledge of Hippokrates when it comes to the human body. It's not even a debate, extended fasting from time to time has only benefits. You can find all texts on archive.org for free, it's very enlightening.

For one, many people who try keto are trying to lose weight, and one of the best ways to lose weight is not eating (fasting). Aside from that, people who are running off of fat based metabolisms find it a lot easier to skip meals or go longer periods without eating than someone on a super carb heavy diet. That isn't to say you can't eat carbs or that there aren't plenty of people who do omad with carbs in their diet though, plenty of people fast and eat carbs too. It just makes it easier since your body is closer to a fasting state already if you are eating low carb.

I was overweight from 7yrs old, combining these 2 was the first thing I've tried that has actually made my abs show.

all smart people realize immediatey there is something horribly wrong about these fuds. every moron is trying them, yet 95% of these people fail to lose weight long term.

how about then vegans are always thin? how about billion asians were always thin eating only white rice? hmmm,,,, ! no glucose bad, fat good! it must be!?

none on these people of masses who fail to lose weight can put 1+1 together they keep avoiding carbs and eating fat. fat is only way humans can gain weight as laboratory tests prove this, carbs are burnt as heat even in larger daily caloric excess

        >You're right, insofar as the shitty processed "keto" foods popping up in the past few years.

Yeah, it's the same shit that happened to veganism. Fat vegans were virtually non-existent when vegans had to cook EVERYTHING themselves and usually from scratch. Even if it was theoretically possible to stay a fat frick by eating a frickton of pasta, in practice it didn't happen.
Same thing with ketogays: it *is* possible to stay yuge eating 3 lbs of porterhouse per day Yet when keto was niche and people were deprived from the temptations of slop, forcing them to actually think about their nutrition... they magically lost weight.

I lost most of my weight eating nearly no fat and high carbs. Rice. Potato. Bread. Lentils. Here's the thing. You will eventually reach a point where you realize you can very much gain weight on nothing but carbs. It's not magic. Eating too much will lead to weight gain. That said, most people would easily lose weight eating all the carbs they wanted to if they avoided fat.

This is serious eating disorder type behavior. You could literally just eat a potato an an apple but nooo gotta be in ketosis

Ive probably also developed an eating disorder, cause I am pretty addicted to seeing the weight just fall off.
Once I hit my goal though I am never doing this shit again, 2000cal from there on out.

fresh meat has enough vitamin C. excess vit C can convert to oxalate and cause problems

They both have some similar effects. Fasting can cause ketosis because your body will start burning its fat when you run out of glucose.

if you "ran out of glucose" youd be dead. your body is constantly using and making glucose

My obese roommate tried keto for about 3 days and before he started eating fast-food burgers again. Fats want a cheat code, when they just need discipline.
