low sodium has higher associated risks than high sodium. youve only been told one side of the story
          >Implicit in these guidelines is the assumption that there is no unsafe lower limit of sodium intake. However, sodium is known to play a critical role in normal human physiology, and activation of the renin–angiotensin-aldosterone system occurs when sodium intake falls below approximately 3.0 g per day.

Ketards and meat clowns agree that dietary cholesterol makes little difference to blood cholesterol. Its measured in microscopically tiny amounts that vary greatly based on time of day, fasting status, hydration status. And then the usual test is an averaged guess. Your body makes all the cholesterol you need. Want to live a long time? Dont eat too much of anything, carbs (AGEs, IGF-1, MetS) or animal protein (MTOR, cancer)

He's shitposting but "sustainable" when applied to food products implies they're harvested in such a way that they won't have a negative impact on the ecosystem they're harvested from. It's probably most relevant with fish, overfishing is devastating and has a whole host of negative consequences for both the ocean and us. Also relevant for coffee if only because non-sustainable coffee is almost certainly from some factory farm in a former rainforest valley as opposed to the high-elevation small farms that will give you quality beans.

Government nutritional guidance is based on post-hoc declaring healthy the foods that are currently being domestically produced and/or subsidised, not vice versa. If you want to be an individual rather than a statistic, make your own goddamn mind up, see how different foods make you feel, and lean into what works.

Reminder that the USDA is not "the United States Dietary Administration". It's the United States Department of Agriculture. Its role is to promote US farm profits. They literally don't care if the food is unhealthy, their job is to promote basedbeans and corn syrup.

Because, governments don't actually want their citizens to thrive, they want them fat, sick, and dependent on them for everything.
Precisely why I haven't believed anything the government has told me since I was a teenager.

what I really dislike about these sort of "discussions" is that getting a hold of real information becomes much more difficult when everyone else is pumping out shit to pander to people who just want to argue for the sake of it.

and this weeb website is filled to the brim with that exact problem. one of the worst echo chambers out there for any kind of discussion related to health and nutrition

IST being low IQ doesn't mean the whole site is as dumb, and even it has good shit in the sticky and lots of encouragement in the generals. IST's reading lists are excellent, /ic/ has every resource a budding artist could ever want, /m/ and /toy/ are probably the best collected model kit information sources on the planet, and IST will hook you up with the perfect shit you want in both hardware and software.
Just because you're incapable of discerning the wheat from the chaff without updoots doesn't mean everyone is.

There's no real reason to eat them, but people need to justify their addiction to junk foods like these

We weren't out there milking wild animals lmao

The only one on this list that we have been eating for longer than that is red meat.
Early man almost exclusively meat, fish, and plant foods (starchy tubers, leaves, berries, nuts)
