Blood sugar spike. Boil them instead of baking them. You probably won't get lethargic after

Carbs frick your hormones. If you want stable energy all day try zerocarb carnivore.

      January is world carnivore month.

I've been limiting my starches and replacing more of my carbs with fruit and the brain fog and lethargy has drastically improved. I think starches are just too hard for our bodies to process.

      More for me

If you are routinely tired after eating this is indicative of type 2 diabetes. If potatoes are the only thing doing it, then it's a factor intrinsic to potatoes, maybe solanine, although potato poisoning is almost unheard of these days since the modern cultivars are selectively bred to reduce the content of such toxins

All of you shut the frick up. If you aren’t eating exclusively blue potatoes you’re wasting your meals. Look up the nutritional benefit. They have NEGATIVE glycemic index. More antioxidants than blue berries. Taste like Russets and perform like golds.

I can’t believe I’m seemingly the only person aware of this.

Pic related, my chorizo hash with blue potatoes.

Never seen chorizo before? Yankees should self delete. 1/2 lb beef chorizo, 5 eggs and about 10 potatoes is god tier

Just another excuse for "cuisine" from fine cooking's arch nemesis - the british. Yeah let's just mash all this shit together until it appears and holds the texture of someone else's loose, messy stool. Pic related, britain's most famous dessert. Cream and fruit haphazardly tossed on a dish.

GI index doesn't really mean shit when it comes to starches. White rice has the highest GI index but most people feel lighter eating it than potatoes.

you can feel lighter but you'll get diabetes regardless from eating too much white rice if mexico and india is anything to go by.
of course it's fine if you eat in moderation like japan

moronic post. absolutely brainrotted. you need a well rounded diet. there are substances in many foods which interfere with the absorption of vitamans in other foods. that doesnt mean you shouldnt eat them. But if 50% of your diet or more is one thing, its going to cause nutritional imbalances. there were diseases associated with nobility in japan because only rich people had access to large amounts of white rice. and eating too much white rice interferes with the absorbtion of certain things giving you disorders. it doesnt make rice useless, but you have to be educated to build a proper diet. this is only an analogy. you can use rice as a meal filler to ensure youre getting enough of certain things in your diet. The japanese today eat a shit load of rice and are fine. but they supplment their diet with a lot more than just rice. any group that just eats one or two things are going to get fricked up. its just a question of it it happens earlier or later in life.

They do not have negative GI. GI accounts for shit like the temperature of the food and we know cold starches are resistant. Cardboard is low GI. A raw potato is low GI.

Also, only diabetics need to worry about this shit so when people start spouting this bullshit you kind of expose yourself.
        >bu-but it's the high GI that gives you diabetes
Nope, sugar is moderate GI. Complex carbohydrates are higher. Another youtube chiropractor lie

You could just go for a walk, you know. like healthy people. instead of sitting on your ass all day. If you allow digestion to regulate your energy levels it's a primary indicator that you are a low energy loser.

      >If you are routinely tired after eating this is indicative of type 2 diabetes.

So I'm not diabetic right now but I am genetically predisposed to it. I get the same lethargic feeling from all starches, but potatoes and bread are BY FAR the worst when it comes to this. I know that gluten is shit for 90% of the population's gut. The best starch for me is white rice. Fruits don't give me lethargy at all, even if I eat 500+ calories of them in one sitting.

      >although potato poisoning is almost unheard of these days
Maybe we don't get the actual poisoning symptoms from solanine, but our resistances trigger inflammatory signals to our brain.

  7. 6 months ago

do you cook them in oil? What oil do you use? that could be the entire answer of you pick the wrong shittier ones. slicing them up in a pan you can cook the slices or chunks in avacado oil or high quality olive oil at a slightly lower temperature and probably be fine. if you use shitty vegetable oil or something its bad for you.
