Why do i get depressed at the gym?

Halfway through my routine i start feeling sorry for myself, like I know I'm compensating for being an ugly dyel the bigger part of my life, and this self inflicted pain is punishment for that, even though it wasn't my fault (mostly). That which should motivate me makes me wanna quit and leave early. How do i change this mindset?

        2pl8 is easy. I got a 2pl8 OHP before I got a 2pl8 bench. Just be strong and specialize in it.

          how? I've tried doing every set to failure and increase frequency to 5x a week with periodization week 1 2 sets every day, week 2 3 sets, week 3 4, week 4 5 sets every day and all i get is one or two more reps
          how would such a specialization program look like? i really only want big taipei pulls and ohp

    I unironically get depressed seeing other guys with their girlfriends at the gym. Their post workout is going home, having nice conversations, eating dinner, watching something together, and fricking before bed. My post workout is going home, talking to my cats, texting people who don't text back, eating alone, and crying before bed.

    It's not a mindset. You have deeper rooted problems that you need to adress. That does not make the gym a bad thing and you should stop seeing it as "self inflicting pain". The gym, if taken seriously, will only improve your life. Nobody ever got swole/in shape and regretted it later. It will also help with all other endeavors like getting a gf etc.
    Stop feeling sorry for yourself.

    Lifting will only improve your image by about 10% or so. You still need a good looking face, hair, money, social status, come from a good family, have a good personality and charisma.
    Lifting kind of becomes a drag once you realize it's sort of pointless. Most people do it because they have nothing else to do and also get socialize with others a little bit. The gym is full of incels, average people and wagies.

    Bro just don’t make it that deep you go to the gym to improve yourself. You need something besides the gym to give your life greater meanin. Something you put your energy into after or before your lift. Working out should just be a catalyst for you to improve your life.

    for me it's because of all the couples at the gym, seeing all the cute girls that aren't even into the gym but just go there because of their boyfriends and gleefully cling to them while following them around like a puppy, makes me wanna blow my brains out
