Hard to tell if this kid's trolling or really this fricking stupid. Whenever zoomers millennials get zero results lifting they always use the steroid excuse.

Bad programming, not knowing how to push themselves physically, and not being lean enough to show the results well. Even a saw a video recently where people were challenged to go to actual failure and a dyel went to 16 reps when he said that at the weight he was using he'd normally stop at 8-10 reps

It’s mostly this. Greg doucette is a pretentious dickhead but he’s right about harder than last time. If you don’t make every workout harder than the last one your body will stop changing.

Either they lift on and off with a shit diet, or they've just lost motivation. I know a guy who used to look like a Men's Health cover model and after getting enough pussy he got bored and stopped caring as much. Nowadays he has softened up and he kinda looks like the guy in your pic, but with more muscle mass.

  8. 2 years ago

Shit consistency and shit effort. Muscular hypertrophy is a physiological adaptation to trauma that will not occur in homeostasis. Most people do not lift hard enough or enough period. What mechanical tension is there to even adapt to? Curling the 15's? Sets of 50 pounds on the chest press machine that are all like 10 reps shy of failure?
#1 reason people don't get results in anything is because they overestimate the efficacy of what they're doing.

    primarily high bodyfat.
see how good this guy looked at fricking 125lbs? the amount of lean muscle mass and strength you need to look good is ridiculously low. I mean literally, 125lbs.

i know so many people who look like fricking dogshit at 180lbs even though they are packing a lot more muscle. now im not saying that op's guy trains perfectly and he couldnt look bigger and builtfat after 4 years but the major reason why most people look bad is that they have too high bodyfat. they would pack enough muscle but just never cut. They go from like 28% to 20% at leanest then make a thread about how they cant get rid of stubborn bodyfat, gyno etc.

couldn't disagree more. the guys that look bad always have high bodyfat and soft physique = they eat too much. kinda like op but most are even worse. sure they dont train right either but if you have flab it means you are fat because you eat too much.

I kinda look like OP and it's 100% eating too little, and too little protein.
People saying it's working out with too low weights are both right and wrong as you can't lift heavy if you don't eat to build muscle.

NTA. A study showed that you are very likely to maintain BF% while you bulk. Meaning if you start fat you'll most likely stay fat as you gain muscle. Recomping is a meme.

Cut first then bulk for maximum efficiency. Any noob gains made while cutting are just a nice bonus.

          Anonymous

I'm not sure you know what recomping means.
If you are bulking you aren't recomping you are just bulking. Recomping means eating slightly below maintenance and that your study does not cover.

Recomping is short for recompositioning. Meaning you're trying to lose massive amounts of fat while also building massive amounts of muscle.

      Light weights
I started my fitness montage not by enrolling at a gym but by bulking, doing squats, push ups, chin ups at home. I started showing definition within 2 months.
Exercises are supposed to strain you. I understand not wanting to be an exhausted mess but eventually the weights must be increment

Also this. Newbies think "oh i want abs so I should eat less". They don't understand that bulking and cutting are two distinct processes. This is prime lack of research.
I fell into this trap and felt like absolute shit for the duration. I was working out and then coming home only to eat salad (it was the only "healthy" thing i knew) like a catwalk model. It was by the second week i searched on the internet and realised what a moron i had been

Don't bulk as a natty, it's a druggie meme. Eat enough that your lifts are increasing, and no more. Natties don't build muscle anywhere near fast enough to justify roider bulk calorie intakes. The people who shill for bulking are fatties with eating disorders who want others to validate their food addictions. After 2 years of slow and steady gains you will be in exactly the same place as the guy who did a bulk, except your skin will be in better shape.

Isn't bulking just eating anything above maintenance?

Once I'm done cutting, the plan is to just stop counting calories, keep lifting, watch my weight and go back to cutting once I'm at 18% again.

            Anonymous

            >Eat enough that your lifts are increasing
            So... bulk?

Eating a couple hundred calories excess isn't "bulking". Beginners don't even need any surplus whatsoever, the mere hormonal adaptations alone will yield good gains. A serious bodybuilding bulk will be at least 500 calories surplus usually more because when you're on gear your body partitions those excess calories much better. When I used to blast I could eat more than 1000 calories surplus and not even get fat.

It's pretty easy. Go to failure or near to it and stop resting a lot

  14. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

It's a combination of things. To be really successful in the gym, you have to be controlled about everything. Progressive overload, diet, sleep.
Most people severely underestimate the importance of diet especially. You can go in the gym and train your ass off, but if you're neglecting your protein intake, or overeating, you're going to make shit progress and end up looking like ass.

Plus yeah natty lifting is a meme. Who knows what this guy looked liked 4 years ago.

  15. 2 years ago

It would have ottermode going on which is all you really need to impress normies and women but he refuses to have an actual diet to get to the below 15% bodyfat that you need to look like you actual go to the gym.

inconsistency (diet and lifting). most dudes that look like this go twice a week and have months breaks inbetween because of "not feeling it" excuses etc.

Imo what really "transforms" you, even as a natty is being consistent, even if you aren't always giving it 100% it still adds up to a pretty fit body if you just GO

afaik AAS administration upregulates androgen receptors

        Anonymous

It doesn't change their sensitivity. That is basically set at birth.
That's why some people respond better to androgens than others.
Men with androgen receptor insensitivity syndrome get nothing out of any amount of testosterone or steroids. Their bodies remain in the female form despite their xy chromosomes.

          >That's why some people respond better to androgens than others.
          no objection

what i was trying to get at is, even if you are a low responder, AAS will give you more receptors and permanantly increase your natty potential
(if you decide to pct and go back to natty lifting, nowadays most people just BnC)

I though AAS increased muscle cell myonuclei.
The increased androgen receptors should go back to baseline after stopping, but you have more muscle cell nuclei than before to grow into new muscle cells, which should increase your natty muscular limit.
