It goes beyond that. It displays a transcendental aesthetic that goes back to the ancient Greeks. The fact that people of the modern age cannot fathom as such due to debased intelligence does not negate the innate appreciation for beauty.

      >recently went to an art museum
      >saw an old Grecian torso in classical pose
      >curator had the audacity to label such as 'idealized

He's not wrong in his usage of the term though. Idealized wasn't used in the sense of "unachievable", it was in the sense of "this is the perfect male specimen" or something of that sort, in addition to being a work of the creator's imagination and not based off a particular model.
Good on you for making it though.

Understandable, and thanks. If anything, the feeling on my part is that such elements of the achieving of anesthetics is entirely within reach for most of us, and that is without the use of PEDs. I think the difficulty is the inability of the masses to break the bonds of insecurity that latch onto them from societal influences that aim to sabotage the human spirit, and that degradation transcends from spirit-mind-body. Thanks, and godspeed to you in this life.

That's not true though. The majority of classical sculpture was based off of live models; athletes taking the place of folk heroes. The sculptures that are exaggerated, like the Farnese Heracles, are pretty blatant, and are still based on the body of live models

How do I make my abs pop more? I'm definitely lean enough and especially if I'm exhaled and flexing they're fairly visible. Or is it just not really possible to have abs popping while you are unflexed. In pic I'm flexing but not exhaling... I do 4*10 ab rollers once a week but thats the only isolation work I do, otherwise just deadlifts etc which might work them a bit.

          Anonymous

The ab roller is good, you could add in some sit ups or hanging leg raises as well though if you want to get some more work in. 4 sets of just ab roller a week might not be enough, add another 4 sets of another variation and you'll be good to go.

This is my ab routine that I do everyday after gym, takes about 10-20 mins (Depending on rest, how fatigued my arms are etc.). Still no abs bros... am I missing an excersise that I need to do, or is it just genetics/skinnyfat?

Ab wheel and planks are great for “core” as in stabilising, resisting moving, trans versus/internals, learning to brace better. But for hypertrophy you want something with contraction and ideally a loaded stretched portion, reverse crunches on a slanted bench are probably the best for this, for being able to progress, keep high time under tension, and isolate abs without hips/back compensating. Hanging leg raises are easier to set up.

Different people/genetics can both look pretty good with different physiques, lean, little bit more bf% and strong look so I think you are going in the right direction. Anyway, smaller chest muscles are better for overall aesthetics. I mean not like plank flat chest, just some definition without it looking like you basically have breasts.

Hanging straight leg raises every 2 days, 5-6 sets until failure

      Anonymous

I have no idea how many compounds that hit abs he does per week and how hard etc.
The other thing is he could just not be crunching his core, if you stand as tall as possible, even if you flex your abs they will just make a solid wall, if you want them to pop, you have to crunch your abdominal wall, not keep it straight. That usually compresses the individual ab muscles and they are more visible. So in short, learn to flex?

Why are people so upset by the idea of isolating abs once or twice a week. It's like 20 minutes a week.

Because 95% of the people issue with abs is that they are hidden by the body fat and getting leaner is THE solution that will get results.
Unless you get rid of the fat sitting on top of your abs, it doesn't matter.
Telling people to do more isolations when they should be getting leaner is a dick move.

He's not, happened to me too. I cut down and was still pretty flat there overall, and I was squatting 295 for reps.

Added ab wheel and hanging leg raise twice a week and now abs are popping even after meals.

      >and I was squatting 295 for reps.
      that's not enough compounds

        Anonymous

It's common sense you can't see your abs if you're fat. But telling people to only do compounds for them is dumb. Just isolate them a couple times a week and you're good.

Best ab exercises? Currently just do weighted decline sit ups

      Anonymous

Those are pretty good, hanging leg raises are classic, also see how far you get progressing the weighted crunch machine, like the one that uses pl8s, you'll probably be surprised how much weight you can get on there

Unfortunately my gym doesn't have one that uses plates, there's a cable one that uses a stack, but i can max it out, and i never really feel it in my abs that much, I've tried lowering the weight and going real slow but i never quite feel it like i do weighted sit ups, will try hanging leg raises, need to work on my flexibility as i struggle to bring them up straight, always want to bend my knees which then makes it easier

For everyone in this thread talking about the lean pill. Leanness is not a sufficient condition for abs. Compound lifts are not enough. You have to isolate the abs hard multiple times per week. Otherwise you'll get lean and there's still nothing there.

He's not, happened to me too. I cut down and was still pretty flat there overall, and I was squatting 295 for reps.

Added ab wheel and hanging leg raise twice a week and now abs are popping even after meals.

Why are people so upset by the idea of isolating abs once or twice a week. It's like 20 minutes a week.

    >have naturally low body fat
    >abs don't take long to be visible without flexing, very visible with flexing
    >find out most women care more about big arms and the V over abs
    >ot one chick I've slept with has mentioned my abs, even while touching and licking them they'd rather talk about the V
    >my v isn't even impressive

How can you tell if your abs are developed enough that it's time to cut?

But cutting first until you can see them, even if only a bit, then building them. Then work from there.

ita a sign that you work out and eat enough to get big but also have the self control to not stuff your face.

To be honest I don't dare to cut. I was below 60 kilos when I reached my max height at 189 cm. Absolute skeleton, no abs unless flexing, although I wasn't lifting. Then my weight plateaued at 66 years later. I started lifting and made it to 80 kilos, first time in my life in my ideal bmi. Now I definitely only see my abs, when I'm flexing or laying on my back. I do ab workouts regularly. It'd be nice to have them constantly visible but I don't want to be a skeleton anymore either. I'm torn...

Big chest, tris, and shoulders are mandatory for a fit appeal. Abs just make you more rare and sexually appealing. It's something not many people see or have unless they're Twink mode. I've never had them and been fine, but I am working hard to get them because I'm bored and wanna see myself with them

At what point should I cut? I am 6'0 tall and have bulked from 160 lbs to 180 lbs this year. I don't really feel like I look that different though.
I am considering bulking up to 190 lbs, and then start cutting. I can cut now but I don't really see any point, my arms are still skinny, my chest is still small and I don't look like I lift in t-shirt.

At what weight should I cut?

    >Cut down 15 kg since Jan 1st, from 95 to 80 now
    >at peak did 1.5/2.5/3.5/4.5 for 1RM and 1/2/3/4 for reps
    >Still have ~6-8 kilos to go
    >Religiously hit abs 3 times a week now since April

Fellow not-naturally-lean bros, does the loose skin tighten and suck itself in, or do I need to like, supplement collagen and do sauna every day?
