Atherosclerosis is mainly caused by heightened blood pressure, which is why atherosclerotic plaques only form at the highest pressure areas of the circulatory system (the arteries). If they were caused by some other factor in the blood, they would appear elsewhere. Obviously not everyone has elevated blood pressure or plaques, so there is a factor in the blood that when presented with high pressure, can cause damage. We know of a factor of the blood that can do that, LDL cholesterol. No, not just any LDL cholesterol, oxidized LDL cholesterol. What oxidizes LDL cholesterol? Plant sterols and seed oils, exclusively plant-based toxins. The body has a protection against this, it's the endothelial cells that thinly coat those arteries. Unfortunately, high blood glucose, when consistent, shaves away that endothelial and exposes the arterial walls to the high pressure damage of oxidized LDL. Another fun side effect of high blood glucose? High insulin, which causes the kidneys to retain water, increasing blood pressure. Simply forgoing carbs for 3 days is typically enough to lower blood pressure dramatically for this very reason, as hyperinsulinemia (almost always caused by diabetes and caused by consistently excessive sugar intake with fat intake in the case of type 2 diabetes) as a current state fades back to less elevated levels. This is only exacerbated by the effects of diabetes and carbohydrate addiction on the body.
Formulating a plant-based diet knowing these facts, eliminating seed oils and limiting plant sterols by consuming starchy vegetables and limiting fat intake altogether has proven nutritionally unsound, yet in the short-term, therapeutic in reversing atherosclerosis.

TLDR: Plant-based diets also cause atherosclerotic plaques in the first place and only very specific plant-based diets can reverse atherosclerosis.

I'm not going to argue with you, I've presented some things I believe I know, as a non-expert, and I will need to see evidence to counter my pre-existing beliefs in order for me to have any crisis of faith. You beliefs on the subject matter mean nothing to me. I merely infodumped.

Except seed oils tend to have a protective effect on cardiovascular health.

      >replacement of saturated fats with other macronutrients, such as polyunsaturated fats, was associated with reduced cardiovascular disease occurrence.

I'm vegan and I only use coconut oil, olive oil, or avocado oil since I'm still suspicious of seed oils insane processing. Just the fact that it's mostly agricultural waste product and has to be highly processed to get rid of its rancid smell. I think seed oils are gross. Cold pressed oils are better.

        >Another meta-analysis using food frequency questionnaires ("The quality of evidence was low to very-low.")

Please don't respond to me, vegan. I value health and you value morals I do not share.

Whether or not you believe me is not something I would concern myself with. This thread is supposed to convince non-vegans to follow a vegan lifestyle without using moral arguments, no?
I need to see your evidence that these known oxidizing factors don't oxidize LDL on your vegan lifestyle.

Because we all see the thousand yard vegan stare. We all see your disgusting scrawny muscles that look weird from lack of animal protein. We know it rots the brain and every single cults first action is to put new members on a vegan diet. Make 2/3rds of your protein intake an animal source to avoid brain damage. All your beans you eat to replace a protein source frick you up and block absorption of certain trace nutrients. You can only stop it with a 2/3rds animal source protein diet.

I plan on becoming vegetarian if society collapses because i can't bear to kill something. But I still plan to eat a frick ton of eggs to have something and not get the vegan brain rot. I even compared different birds and found jumbo Quail have even more nutrition and protein than chicken eggs if anyone else wants a plan for when the WEF nuggets take out meat.

Underrated. Veganism is *the* diet of choice for exploitative institutions, large and small, that gain with people beneath them are weak and stupid. I simply don't need to know anything else about it to make up my mind.

If I were to go vegan it would be for ethical reasons only. I think the health argument is a cope. I would still include milk and eggs though, with milk and eggs you would be neither worse nor better off if you gave up all other animal foods, that is what I believe.

If you have atherlsclerosis then you should be vegan for a year or two. It isn't healthy to stay on the diet forever though.
