why do people on here shill kettlebell swings
that exercise does jackshit, you’re swinging it forwards so gravity kicks in way less. the only part of the exercise that does anything is the brief moment where you switch from going up to down and down. the rest is physics doing the work for you
clean and press, snatch and press, high pull, etc are all so much better
It’s because they’re so fat that it becomes a good exercise just from them flopping their blubber around
He doesn’t exert max force and use the swing time to get ready for the next rep
who gives a flying frick about max force when gravity is helping you do it? Why not clean and press with max force?
>moron arguing for more than 3 reps on the classics
Huh????
What you listed is definitely better for building strength. I treat swings more like cardio than an actual lift, you're not gonna clean and press for 5 min etc.
Also, they're much more accessible to an amateur who hasn't developed a stable core and probably doesn't have a bar.
You can clean and press with kettlebells though is what I mean. I’m saying there are infinitely more useful kettlebell exercises than the swing.
Define "more useful"
I wouldn't clean and press anything for more than 3-5 reps, and high load less reps is a very specific type of exercise focusing on maximizing force. That might be your definition of useful but not everyones.
Kettlebell clean and press is a cardio+explosive power+ endurance exercise you do with high reps like the swing. It’s not the same as a barbell clean and press
The difference is just the kettlebell goes high above in the air vertically rather than horizontally and to parallel
swings are great for training explosiveness in the hips(pretty fricking usefull in anything you do) and is good for mobility and strength in hammies/hips. clean and press doesnt do that, although it is a great exercise in its own right
yeah that’s a good point. Maybe I judged swings too harshly
What weight are we talking for a press? You can get pretty heavy with swings to really work your lower back. At least that where it hits me, but no way you're gonna throw that much weight around for time.
I do them for pleasure. Warming up or cooling down. Doesn't really add up fatigue. Just feels good as frick and hits the whole body a little bit. Treat it like jumping rope.
how 2 cop sweaty gymbunny gf? want to smell her
dont have to pay the gym fees and watch or wait for others
cheap if u stick with them for a longer than a gym fad meme
great for cardio=losing fat
god for general strength
you can go autist mode and do giryevik sport if u get tired of comrade meme style exercises
homey gym, can not stress that enough
Swings are based because the acceleration on the downswing means your body is absorbing a more weight than whats stamped on the bell (f=ma and all). So for a fraction of a second you get a level of stimulus much higher than just 24kg or whatever. Do that for 100 reps and its easy to see why swings help DL. The one handed version is also great for isometric rotator cuff strength.
For me C&P is the best kb lift followed by snatch and then TGU, but swings absolutely have their place.

I don't give a shit.
I would eat Chunners like a steamed bun.
