      Literally this simple

Boxing generally favors lankier body types and grappling favors stockier builds.

      Also this

boxing lasts longer too, which is why you don’t want to be overly bulky.

steroid testing is much more relaxed in wrestling

I think this is underrated. Boxing guys use but it’s pretty rare these days to see a roided to the gills type physique whereas in wrestling you see it all the time

For boxing they want some reach. For wrestling long limbs are easier to manipulate. Some dude who’s like 5’2 is basically like wrestling a medicine ball.

Because wrestling is shorter and relies on more strength/explosiveness.

meanwhile boxing is more about cardio and techinque.

Also this, short limbs(especially legs)/stocky builds are an advantage in wrestling. Meanwhile long limbs and lanky body types are favorable for boxing because of the reach advantage.

2 dudes can have the exact same height and muscle mass but one can look bigger/smaller depending on their frames.

Joshua's body is unusually muscular for a boxer.

Wrestling matches last up to 6 minutes of actual fighting (three 2-minute rounds)
Boxing matches last up to 36 minutes of actual fighting (twelve 3-minute rounds)

A lot of boxers don't look overly "buff" because having too much muscle requires more oxygen which can cause you to gas out quicker, which is a legitimate concern if you're spending over half an hour fighting

Also, they work different muscles. Most of your punching power comes from your legs and your core, which leaves boxer's upper bodies underdeveloped (usually). In contrast, wrestlers (especially greco-roman) need to use their upper bodies a lot more.

steroid testing is a shit excuse for any sport.

The vast majority of athletes in physically demanding sports are juicing. It's ridiculously easy to cheat tests.

Wrestlers can’t have any weak points in terms of strength, boxers pretty much just need the muscles used in striking to be strong

Pecs are also often "underdeveloped" in boxers because they're only used for hooks, so unless the guy in question relies on his hooks all the time, his pecs will be small.

Is it pointless for me to wait until I've hit my goal weight/lifting goals to start wrestling?

Weight classes in wrestling are more strict so they really want to max muscle weight and cut out bf. They just spend more time lifting iron compared to boxers who do a lot more cardio stuff.

Boxers often barely do any weight training if any at all. Many boxers, especially in lower weight classes are only doing bodyweight stuff in addition to their boxing training so they're basically dyel to IST standards

Wrestler on the right is taking vast amounts of steroids.

The boxer on the left is taking less steroids so he can pass the drug tests

Boxing is an endurance sport while wresli g is all about quick burst of power.

Joshua is huge for a boxer most look like twinks.

Look at nate diaz vs yoel romero. Nate is a skinny lanklet but can drop volume for 5 rounds easily, he is into triathlons etc. His style is mostly boxing.

Yoel is an olympic level wrestler, he is known to have a shit gas tank but insane power, usually just chills the whole fight and when he finds a moment to attack he goes full out.
