I don't mind dumbells but I change things up and have been focusing on barbell and can safely from my enecdotal experience say that if you touch your chest every rep and pause it if possible that barbell has its own pros that dumbells lack. Moving more weight=more stimulus on my chest and I get just as good of a pump there if not better, it's just you miss out on some stabilizer stuff but that doesn't matter if you are like me and swap the two out for each other regularly.
