There's no natural leverage advantage to be had by being a manlet with stub legs like with the squat and deadlift. You're anchored to a bench and have to rely on nothing but sheer strength to get the bar back up.
It is to DYELs and caligays what pullups are to powershitters - a category of strength that is wholly incomparable with their bodytype, musculature and style of exercise. And instead of simply accepting they lack in one type of strength they b***h and seethe about it endlessly.

manlets have an advantage from lower ROM in all things. When I bench 245 but my long arms move the bar a foot and a half and some little stumpy manlet comes along and moves it 4 inches how can the two be compared?
This. I'm 6'1 with really fricking long arms, I move the bar almost twice the distance manlets would.

Bench, or even more specifically the Larsson press, is only a DYEL filter in the sense that it’s the heaviest press, and as such is a good indicator whether or not you take your training seriously. Dips don’t count since you can change the angle of your body to accomodate different parts of the movement.
i can bench 225 with my back on the bench and a pause at the bottom despite incompatible bodytype and will likely never bench much more than that and that's ok
