No, he talks in his book about crazy volume in weights and riding his stationary bike whenever he was home and studying for his military tests. The muscle retention is likely a higher dose of test but the energy to keep up at the pace he claims at the caloric deficit it took to get him military ready in three months(I think, been awhile since I read the book might have been five) screams an amphetamine of some kind.
Him, Cam Haynes, Jocko, all these guys generally have a good message but are all just working through personal inner demons due to their fricked up childhoods. I'm not even shitting on them, I use them for motivational tools but I really just think these guys are all just bad fathers and figured out how to monetize their psychopathy. Not even saying they're not motivational every so often but its like dude I have 3 kids in fricking diapers, work 40 hours a week, cook, clean, do earrands and workout every day don't make me feel like I need to "work harder" I'm barely keeping it together you guys can go run a fricking marathon and do a push up record I have shit to do
He is the embodiment of IST, running from the voices in his own head
>just working through personal inner demons due to their fricked up childhoods.
This is what makes goggins so epic to me. He's like an anime character.
Read Cam Haynes. Just finished his book "Endure". Had a good message and he told his story but it was quite shallow. Dude runs long distance races like 100 miles and lifts weights and bowhunts. Hes been on Rogan. He seems like a cool dude but I'm like man, stop saying everyone has 'excuses' you didn't do this shit if you had little kids and he even wrote in his book his number one thing is wondering if he was a bad father because he basically ignores his family, housework, all that shit and goes on runs and lifts weights and shoots his bow. I don't know who the frick he is married to but what a pushover. Same with Goggins. This man is like 40 and single and lives in a fricking apartment in Vegas. Like okay man you are a crazy internationally known fitness freak and former military man but you can't just say stay hard and push yourself to the brink. Normal, well rounded people have meals, interests, hobbies. I enjoy working out too but I'm not about to run my ass around Forest Gump style because I can't. I have responibilities & shit.
real redpill is women and children will tolerate it if you ignore them for absurd fitness goals. it fits into our evolutionary psychology.
however if you have absurd career goals you are a bad absent father.
i theorize there might be some kinda hormonal shift in men that do absurd fitness goals that produce pheremones that "pacify" women and children.
for eg you never see roasties and lgbt fatties pick fights with these kinds of people - even beyond the rational "he will kill me if i frick with him" they seem to instinctively know not to mess with them.
I think the goal for you should just be full body 3x a week and maintenance until your kids are older and more independent. What I see happen is guys let their bodies deteriorate so badly in their 30s that they can’t recover. Involve your kids in fitness, especially in a way you can participate, even if for you it’s just a mild calorie burner. My father is obese now but he easily would’ve been morbidly obese if he hadn’t made every effort to take us surfing and hiking with him growing up. Basically if you have 5 hours a week to bond with your kids then make the bond over at least something like that that will raise your maintenance and keep you from ballooning, plus you’ll raise better kids that way.
Likewise, 3 kids under 7, full time job, cook all meals at home for everyone (sometimes my wife cooks). Help with housework, do all yard work, home repairs, have a rental property, consult on the side, get professional certifications, CPEs.. it’s insane.

I have two kids going to (pre)school, do most of the chores of cleaning and cooking and work 30 hours a week and life's a bliss.

My wife works as well. Life is great don't get me wrong but its definitely chaotic and scheduled up to wazoo. I just can't frick off for 3 hours a day running as much as I'd like to, in addition to lifting. I think these guys are awesome. But at least wait until the kids are in school or something. Its just not realistic for most people. Its not an excuse. Its just that these guys married giga-trad women or are on the brink of divorce lol. Or they just eat like 13th century peasants in a filthy ass house. I honestly wanna talk to their kids and see if their kids are doing okay.

I like goggins, but he's not the hardest guy on earth by any shot
I have a friend who went to the olympics for their sport (in fact they were ranked #1 in their sport for a time in their weight class)
They decided they wanted to dedicate themselves to their sport before they even entered highschool, in fact they specifically went to a far away highschool and stayed in their dormitories full time because it was famous for their sport
During their highschool years they would attend classes 9am to 3pm, then immediately after go to their sports club and train until 2am.
That was while they were 15 to 18 and nobody, just imagine how hard they trained when they were competing at national and international levels.
That kind of dedication shits all over goggins and 100% of SEALS.
My friend is a bigger badass than any SEAL to live
A female child literally worked as hard as he did during hellweek, but for 3 years instead of 1 week
And then harder when she graduated, for over 10 years
Going to the Olympics makes you a bigger badass than most SEALs, yes.
A female child literally worked as hard as he did during hellweek, but for 3 years instead of 1 week
And then harder when she graduated, for over 10 years
Hellweek isn't even that bad. Hundreds of people become SEALS every year. How many become olympians? I'm so sick of all these Army and Navy and Air Force dudes pretending they're giga-badasses for doing routines I do for fun. Its like no on in the military ever played sports growing up or something. Only reason I never joined and mogged them is because I hate the US government too much to every work for them #Don'tTreadOnMe
You don’t get to choose they just throw you somewhere. Nothing alluring about having a family and being a military dad who has to move every 3 years to do random dumbass waste of tax dollar shit
>Only reason I never joined and mogged them is because I hate the US government too much to every work for them #Don'tTreadOnMe
Nah, you’re just afraid of hard work
I work 65 hours a week I own my own business and I’m currently double dipping since I WFH at my current job and figured out if I sign into teams in my personal computer and have mousejiggle and caffeine.exe going I show up green in teams. I also workout every day and run every day. Why can people just not accept military people aren’t gods. It’s the fricking government the bar for being successful isn’t that high. I wish I knew some seals so I could mog them
>How many become olympians?
look up the requirements for being an olympian and the absurd cutoffs by age/performance etc.
olympics are just corporate events now - you can predict who's gonna win the next 2 olympics today just based on what the current records are and who's training where.
the current olympians can usually point out which kid is gonna win the next olympics.
Getting into the Olympics as a US athlete takes more than a decade of hard, focused work. Usually they are pushing themselves 5 or 6 hours a day. You can do all of that shit and still only have a like .0001% chance of making it. A lot of guys can work hard and make it through whatever SF selection process in 3 or 4 years tops. Yeah it's hard but it's not the same as becoming the best in the world at something.
>Yeah it's hard but it's not the same as becoming the best in the world at something.
best in the world at doing one particular thing with the best equipment science can create is somehow comparable to a soldier being trained to literally outlast other soldiers on a battlefield in hellish conditions with equipment from the lowest bidder
>best in the world at doing one particular thing with the best equipment science can create is somehow comparable to a soldier being trained to literally outlast other soldiers on a battlefield in hellish conditions with equipment from the lowest bidder
Yeah. It's not. That's what I said moron.
Reread my comment where it says >it's not the same as becoming the best in the world at something.
Does it sound like I'm saying they're comparable? Read a book you dumb Black person.
Checked, he talks about how his first wife’s dad told her in high school that Black folk aren’t good partners, which made him pursue her even harder only to prove the dad right.
I have no problem with people like goggins and jocko, i only have contempt with the morons that give these dudes money for saying GET AFTER IT in 500 different ways.
his epic struggle to "turn his life around" was when he was 20 or something, still a kid. THEN he was in the marines and did everything else.
he talks like he did some radical change when it would've been hard, e.g. at an older age or after a severe injury. but no, he just recovered from being bulky as a teenager.
I don't think about him at all.
Liar and a cheater who brags about it as a motivational strategy. Even his supposed fat loss was likely assisted by peds as a former power shitter.
more likely he had his stomach tied
No, he talks in his book about crazy volume in weights and riding his stationary bike whenever he was home and studying for his military tests. sorry youre just gullible, you arent losing 100lbs+ in a couple months without having your stomach tied
Ok fatty

I do exactly this. Lift full body 3x then take my small kids hiking, walking, biking, etc
Likewise, 3 kids under 7, full time job, cook all meals at home for everyone (sometimes my wife cooks). Help with housework, do all yard work, home repairs, have a rental property, consult on the side, get professional certifications, CPEs.. it’s insane.

(Single set to failure 60 minutes of exercise in 2 weeks? Nah that's for nerds)

This
Also jocko is a hyper nt chad who preaches muh self improvement. Literally unrelatae
I've seen approximately 2 minutes of his content and it was such generic motivational drivel I felt like I'd already seen it all.
His voice is kind of hilarious for what he looks like and all the shit he does. Its like Elmer Fudd and Mike Tyson or something
Who? Don't care. Not reading thread. Hidden, downvoted, and blocked.
Can’t read or write.
But it’s okay, sometimes you need to believe in some bullshit to do great things.
I've got mad respect for all the insane shit he's done, but you have to admit that this dude is basically a masochist.
I don't like people who make fitness a "lifestyle" and spew "motivational quotes". It should be part of your life not your entire life.

yeahhhh duuuude you're soooo badass, I bet you wouldn't last a minute in basic training because you'd knock the drill sergeant out

girls are not welcome on IST unless they post body
I have a simple philosophy, it's as follows:
>All blacks are Black folk
He's a nutcase and not in a good way. He abuses his body to the point of surgery. It is not healthy to emulate him.
Bunch of poopypants b***hes, that's why.
Mentally ill grifter
goggins is based, I love him
cause hes a fricking moron who prob had multiple heart attacks already
>walks out in his child
>stay hard
>muh inner demons
These guys are uptight turbo homosexuals who appeal to insecure men about muh masculinity and army discipline or whatever.
