Why don't most normies care about lifting weights?
By care, I mean, actually care.
Going to the gym because its trending isn't caring.
I'm 36 and and back in 2003 when I started lifting 15-16 there was not a single other guy my age who was lifting at my school, everyone was skeleton-maxxing to fit into the tightest possible clothing and everything was about ultra slim fits
Do you think we will ever return to a point where lifting falls out of fashion again?
Normies find lifting unpleasant, and they don't like to do unpleasant things even in a minuscule amount. I joined my colleagues in the gym this week, and all they had been doing were crunches, planks, and bodyweight squats on a bosu ball. Afterward, they walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes and call it a day.
Idk about you but in my the where i live everyone is pretty fit, normies included, and i am just barely managing to not get constantly mogged, then again i may just be extremely insecure
You must live in a white country
The average american person has gotten so fat that a 1 year natty physique is called skinny by the general public. Back im 2003, that 1 year natty physique wpuls have been seen as swole
Except in those old bodybuilding circles that started everything, NatSoc Germany and people who wanted to go/be in profession that requires a strong body people generally really just don't care for it and not out of any principle they acted actively acted on (except for the strange "fat is beautiful" crowd), they just don't. Most people don't know the health benefits it brings you or aren't around people who have strong beautiful bodies they could see that plants the desire in them to attain for themselves
You know the reasons you started, and others just don't have that
>36 years old
>Still browsing IST and using words like normies
How do I avoid becoming this guy?
u can't it's fated
Have sex, fast
also using reddit frog
30 years here. String assumption to think you won't get bored in your 30's with a few minutes to kill.
Also, OP, why do you care if they only lift because it's trending? Anything that gets people exercise is good, even if it were a fad. Some of those people will exercise for their entire life because of it. Furthermore, if they slip back into mediocrity, you'll just be better by contrast even if you barely do anything. It's a win-win.
>20 years old
>wasting the prime years of his life browsing fit and using words like normies instead of going out having fun with friends, meeting girls etc
loser
>obsessed with brainless conformist standards of what people should be doing
Loser. People should do what makes them happy. Mindless pleasure rarely leaves people happy. Though for other anons who don’t need a pathetic ego boost out of putting people down he does have a bit of a point in that you will not have that sort of carefree naive pleasure later on in life no matter how good your life is. So do try to take advantage of those 18-22 years. But if you can’t for whatever reason don’t sweat it and keep striving
I don't care if it does or not as long as the gym doors stay open.
Being a hardcore gymcel has always been a niche even tho I think these days there are more than ever with influence from Sam Sulek
Sam Sulek is like 6 months old zoom zoom get some perspective
have a nice day
>Why don't most normies care about lifting weights?
They want to live comfortably and that means eating goyslop and keeping pain to a minimum
Yeah back then all the rockstars rappers etc other popular figures were all skinny. Being muscular wasn't trendy and social media wasn't massive like it is now pushing the gym trend
Zyzz and forums got a lot of nerds like me into lifting back around 2010. I was never into fitness in school but as an adult it fixed my life and gave me an invaluable form of meditation/stress relief that actually works
I don't think it will go out of style but I think we will have more people trying to be athletic/combat sports once they realise muscle without gas tank/skill can get you fricked up hard irl and peawienering isn't wise without stuff to back it up
You guys should come to Miami. Literally everyone lifts weights or does exercise to some degree.
Humans aren't meant to look "buff". We're supposed to be slim and tall. Something like ottermode, maybe a bit more buff but that's it.
Think of these African tribesmen that have six packs despite not having lifted or been in a gym their entire lives.
Hell, you can even see the six-year-old niglets running around the village with six packs too.
That's how a natural human being following *the natural human diet* with zero processed foods looks like.
It's not genetics. If you were placed in the exact same environment and fed on the same foods since childhood you'd look pretty much like that too.
Working out while young will stunt your growth and set you up for a lifelong vicious cycle of gymcelling and insecurity.

My GOD tripgay PLEASE STOP SHITTING ON YOUR KEYBOARD
>humans are meant to be ODDERMOWED
are you?
didnt think so, fats
You were a gay back then I went to HS in 04 I’m 35 and we all worked out hard. By senior year most of us were jacked. We also played sports and fricked the hottest girls. I was really popular and good at sports though so maybe you were just focused on buying weed and playing video games so my guess is not much has changed
Anyway why don’t most people care now? Because especially once you have kids and or work 60 hours it’s harder to make the time, not saying you can’t just less incentive, usually by mid 30s you are married so you have steady sex, you are a homeowner so you have physical DIY projects, and in 2023 you have food delivery at your fingertips, that combine with everyone on their fricking phones all day = sedentary fat people getting their dopamine from sugar and likes and Xbox achievements
same except I didn't lift and I smoked shitloads of weed and played video games all the time. It is not about playing sports or being jacked. I'm pretty glad I didn't waste my younger years in a gym even if I enjoy it as an actual adult. Stop being a gay
Both of you are homosexuals. have a nice day
cels get the rope
Wrong
Go look at pictures from the early-mid 2000s, even Zyzz was skeleton maxxxing at that stage. He started lifting in like 2007-2008 and thats when the first bull-run with lifting starting with normies, a very small bull-run, that eventually went parabolic in the 2010s
> peaked in high school
> reminiscing about the "glory days".
I peaked right now I just don’t see a difference with my attitude and my circle, I guess we’ve just always been successful so maybe it’s been different for terminally online folks
I don’t know who zizz is and do not go on the internet much just IST every so often and sometimes ar15.com
I was in the student union and counted 50 guys who passed and not a single one looked like he lifted
I'm 36 and when I was 15-16 everyone was still wearing baggy jeans and oversized shirts but maybe we are just years behind in Europe.
OP here I’m talking about Australia
Hence why I used Zyzz pre-lifting photos to prove my point, go see Zyzz photos from Sydney clubs in 2004-2005 it’s all skeleton maxed guys. Even Zyzz said he the first time he saw a jacked shredded guy at a club and that 1 guy mogged everyone at the club and that’s what inspired him to lift.
That’s how it was back then, very rare to see anyone with muscle back then
To be fair most people do not have a lot of time and energy to spare. If you have kids and a job only the ultra motivated are going to have what it takes to maintain a great physique on top of that. Also the sad reality is that most people will not have very good results, and that goes times 100 natty (but remains true for 70%+ of guys even if they do steroids). People have delusional expectations of what’s possible, severely underestimate how hard you have to work to see results, and naturally become disillusioned and stop when they don’t see the results they are looking for
