are you fricking moronic? ohp is a compound, you don't bench and ohp on the same day, just like you wouldn't deadlift and squat on the same day.
I also run 531 , I am :

60kg for 12 or more
90kg for 1
I do ohp 531 and the ohp Bbb sets on the same day, and same for the other lifts … longer recovery in between , so I’m only ohp every 8 days, and same for all other lifts
I haven't worked on OHP in a long time, I used to do it 3x a week and it was my best lift comparatively. My 1rm was 180lbs.
I guess I'll do it when I life later. It's been a while.
I do right now, but not so sure about how good of a lift it actually is apart from just chasing numbers. >train OHP actively, stall out and fail 55kg for a single >ditch it entirely to just bench more >get bench to 2pl8+ relatively fast, also do a bunch of front/lateral raises and triceps work >return to OHP'ing a few months later as I switch up my routine slightly >smoke 55kg for a set of 5, do an easy 60kg single after
I made more OHP strength gains when I wasn't OHP'ing at all, all I did was spam front/lateral raises, skull crushers and bench.
Now my front delts don't even get sore from barbell OHP, I will keep doing it once a week because ooga booga press big weight overhead but do upright rows and front/lateral raises on the other days (U/L 5 day split)
most people have overdeveloped front delts from all the pushing exercises like bench. most would benefit from going ham on their side and rear delts but for some reason not many do even though side delts make up most of the shoulder aesthetic.
I do, I can do 1pl8 for 8
i'm dumbellpilled
Dumb bell OHP seems to make more sense to me, because of the added stability gains
Am I doing it right?
I do. It’s my favorite lift
because my chest is lagging and my bench was much weaker after doing ohp first

How am I supposed to do a full body workout routine if I can't do more than 1 compound a day?
simply count all of the compounds as one compound, that's what I do.
I do max effort squat followed by accessory deadlifts and vice versa.
Same for OHP & Bench.
Doing 5/3/1 and Wendler endorses the above multiple times.

you wouldn't download a car etc
Shoulders >>>>> ch*st
It's unfortunately my best lift. Current max is 210x2, usually do sets of 185x5.

>tfw taken my behind the neck press to 45kg for 10 reps
I wonder what my regular OHP is now. Last i trained ohp was before corona and my 1RM ohp was 65kg
I went full OHP autism for a few years and I really love it, its my favorite lift by far.
But I tried out Dumbbell Seated Shoulder Press, and I noticed way better contraction, way better pump, and way better muscle gains.
OHP is still my baby though
Why are we doing ohp standing and dumbell ohp seated, again? Just asking for a friend
Standing barbell ohp feels just feels right
Seated dumbbell shoulder press just feels right
Do you have the back of the bench straight up or slight angle?
I do regularly and everyone looks at me weird at the gym
My ac joint is fricked atm, not as stable as it should be when doing pressing movements

If you really want to smash a plateau in ohp, run smolov jr for a month
I thought about this and at my level it doesn't make sense to run these kinds of peaking programs vs just bodybuilding slowly to higher numbers

Depends if you’re lifting for aesthetically perfectly proportioned delts or lifting for a different reason.
If just aesthetics then ohp is arguably not even necessary,
But if you’re lifting to get a big ohp number, then you need to ohp a lot and proportions don’t matter
because im too tall and my gym ceiling is too low for me to do it 🙁
but I do
monday & friday are for 3x12 behind the neck press @ 55lbs
