>acidifies your teeth to nothing >full of dyes and additives >gives money to coca-cola, an unironically evil corporation >doesn’t hydrate you
you need more?
your teeth to nothing
dentistry is a scam >>full of dyes and additives
Like everything else >inb4 I only eat what my mommy grows in her garden
sure, whatever
money to coca-cola, an unironically evil corporation
It is what it is
’t hydrate you
bullshit >inb4 but muh FDA sodium guidelines
We don’t really understand the causal mechanism yet, but the science is stacking up that ultraprocessed foods like diet sodas are really, really bad for the human body. Just Google / Google Scholar around for “ultra-processed foods” and read some of the literature and journalism — it’s kind of turning upside down how I think about food.
I also think the sticky on this board might eventually need to get updated re nutrition — though I understand if IST wants to wait until the science is better established. I don’t care what you losers do
acids dissolve your teeth
brushing your teeth cleans and strengthens them, it doesn't make them grow back and doesn't do anything if you have no teeth to clean
honestly this....
I can't understand people who drink this as a"hydration source (lets phrase it like that)" , like buying 20 bottles and shit type of....
t. maybe a glass of coke with some snack once in a month
We don’t really know why. But toxicology can often establish that a substance is harmful long before it can figure out the exact mechanisms. You just need to learn to live with more uncertainty, anon.
My boyfriend fricked me up the ass and made me suck his wiener and it tasted like artificial sweetener. If it comes out you the same way it came in I don’t trust.
>loads of phosphoric acid that fricks your bones
Probs other garbage too, that one was just off the top of my head. Soft drinks are frick-y too when it comes to studying them and their health effects. There's a pile of flavouring agents in that can, then the can has a BPA based plastic coating inside the can which could interact with the compounds in the drink, especially over a long time on store shelves.
There was a study conducted looking at energy drinks effects on the heart (red bull iirc). We know energy drinks slow down a very tiny rhythm in the heart and if it's slowed sufficiently a person's heart rhythm just stops. The researchers tested every single individual ingredient in the energy drink in people and not a single one accounted for the observed effects on the heart, even the caffeine or taurine. So there's something about the mixture of the ingredients, how they're consumed, or some step in digestion, that causes that effect.
Science is best for looking at one cause and one effect. A lot of artificial sweetener research looks at just that compound given to rodents rather than the concert of compounds that are in a diet coke, because trying to figure out what caused health effect 1, 2, or 3, in lab rats when you give the rats A, B, C, D, E, F... etc. compounds is really, really, really fricking hard, tedious, or impossible given funding/equipment. So there may be plenty of papers not finding any ill health effects of giving aspartame, sorbitol, or other artificial sweeteners to rats but that doesn't actually look at the whole picture of what you're drinking in one of those beverages.
because brainlets don't know about amino acids
Terribly high number of redox potential. Like +300 or so.
Aim for drinks with negative redox potential

it’s cool, man. lots of tards go on to live real kick-ass lives!

what are you, some kind of Nazi?
because its not coke zero
Aspartame is terrible for you
this is literally mom-science, and i’m pretty anti diet sodas

>rots your teeth
>gives you kidney stones
>nukes your gut biome
>might give you cancer
but hey, at least it doesnt have sugar
pepsi/cola with real sugar rots your teeth
literally just don’t drink soda, it’s pretty easy
or you could brush your teeth after eating like a normal person
that doesn’t negate the fact you are consuming empty calories for literally no reason.
acids dissolve your teeth
brushing your teeth cleans and strengthens them, it doesn't make them grow back and doesn't do anything if you have no teeth to clean
teeth do regenerate, look it up
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remineralisation_of_teeth
yes and so does diet coke
its the acid not the sugar
because water's better

Ok but the question was WHY
>WHY is it (not) bad for you?
the burden of proof is on the people making it, not the people who don't drink it

he probably has diabetes. see a doctor.

given funding/equipment to determine the causal relationship of all these things with the body*
I'm tired as frick. My bad
