Why is the unhealthy dangerous white rice being shilled so much recently? White rice is terrible for you, it has a high glycemic index which increases the cause of diabetes, is less nutrient dense than brown rice and white rice is processed. Only morons promote it.
and yet east asians are one of the healthiest people on the planet
They do have surprisingly high rates of diabetes given how low their obesity rates are.
I blame rice
They're healthy because they don't eat a lot not because they eat white rice.
boom there you go. You answered your own question
Stop worrying about minmaxing what you eat, and start worrying about how much you eat.
>walk 10k steps a day using public transit
>wholesome multi generational households
>eat insane amounts of vegetables and low calorie
>they are healthy because of white rice
My mother in law is Asian and lost 15lb switching from white rice to brown. Many East Asians are also skinny-fat if they don’t exercise. White rice is universally seen as the less healthy option in Asia. Eat brown rice. They tend to mix in some white rice and other grains, like barely and legumes. And they don’t eat much rice either. Just a small bowl.
That's missing some tact.
East Asian populations have a higher life expectancy because they generally have low body fat and remain active in their later years which leads to good cardiovascular health. That doesn't mean they are the healthiest possible people they could be or that white rice is necessary to have their life expectancy.
Here's an idea for you: Most people in Asia do not take a daily multivitamin, but its typically well understood multivitamins can contribute to overall health. Would East Asians be less healthy or more healthy if they all were taking daily multivitamins as a supplement to their current lifestyles?
It has almost identical macros to brown rice, but slightly less fat. What do you think is so bad about white rice?
Tyrone and his BBC eat white rice so I eat white rice
If you are trying to put on weight, white rice is easy to digest and calorically dense (especially with added butter/oil). Not everyone is a 300 lb fatty with an addiction to soda and chips. It isn't the healthiest food in the world, but it certainly isn't a devil.
>white rice is easy to digest and calorically dense
1 cup of cooked rice has only 200 Calories
>adds butter
See, now it’s calorie dense!
I think they're both great for different reasons.
Less fibre and higher glycemic index makes it good for fast energy before a workout and less fibre means it doesn't fill you up when bulking. Enrichment is also a good thing, assuming you're not living in a third world country you can just cook fresh outta the packet and it will have micronutrients that you wouldn't get otherwise.
Stop demonizing food, dickhead.
>Enrichment is also a good thing,
most people wash their rice tho
tastes better
Rice is not being "shilled so much recently"
This thread is inherently a lie
What do?
Right. Potatoes have been shilled more on here as a replacement to white rice
> increases the cause of diabetes
Seek therapy (for (you)’re eating disorder)
He should seek help for his mental disorders this thread is bad
>youre eating disorder
seek english lessons
Your new
The only thing that is true on that image is the glycemic index. The rest is literal broscience bullshit. The fiber difference is laughable. The only thing you truly will notice is that you digest white rice faster than brown. Period.
Because brown rice tastes yucky and its brown, obviously
“Glycemic index” is a meme
White rice isn't unhealthy, brown is just more nutritious. Definitely see a therapist about the intrusive thoughts brother, being fat increases the chances of diabetes but I bet your fingers are chubby and there's a bottle of mnt dew next to you.
The real reason is that white rice cooks faster, I'm not gonna wait 20m+ for rice it better be able to cook it in 10 or I won't bother.
>high glycemic index which increases the cause of diabetes
fat causes diabetes. do your research.
Test
It’s a bodybuilder staple for packing on calories because it’s less filling than brown rice, and elevations in insulin produce increased hunger.
