It's very possibly Techlead himself. Why would anyone repeatedly post this shit here otherwise.

Techlead is a well-known crypto scammer, I think he's even been to prison or something (might be someone else). Look how dyel he is, this dude has never been near a barbell in his life.

He saw that other tech guy say muscles are bad for you and is just copying it.

I actually agree somewhat (not that I'm clicking on the video, just going by the title) - I think muscles DO NOT slow the aging process at all and could potentially if taken to an extreme age you.

You want me to make a video about it? Does me having a video and a million subscribers suddenly make me have some more legitimacy despite it not being anything remotely related to the subject he made his channel again? It's farce, who the frick over 21 or at most 24 watches this stuff, you'd have to be a megamoron.

Muscles don't shorten your life. Lifespan is mostly genetic. What could possibly shorten your life is taking huge amounts of test+HGH+insulin to try to be a mass monster. But that's only a small portion of lifters who want to get that IFBB pro card. LIfter from the silver era, 1940-1960's, usually lived well into their 80's and 90's.

Didn't watch the video but being overweight shortens your life. It doesn't matter if it's fat or muscle. Has the same effect on your cells

        Anonymous

        >being overweight
        >It doesn't matter if it's fat or muscle
Being overweight shortening your life is a conclusion made because the vast majority of overweight people observed with lower lifespans are overweight due to fat. I doubt that bodybuilders, olympic athletes, etc. really made the cut. For the case of athletes, you also have to account for /fraud/ing, sports injuries, overexertion, etc. when it comes to lifespan since they are more likely to have those than some guy who's overweight because he eats too much cake. The vast majority of overweight people are just fat. It does matter because statistics regarding BMI or body weight alone only matters when you take into account body composition. There is zero reason to assume that having more muscle than normal has the same effect as having excess body fat. All of their health problems are coming from excess fat.

    >TechLead
Why would he make this random video criticizing gaining muscle? What exactly does he have to gain here, when his channel has nothing else to do with fitness, and he doesn’t look like he participates in any fitness related activity?
That, along with all the cherry picked statistics about pro-bodybuilders (which anyone in the fitness community actually already knows how unhealthy that shit is), makes this video a nonrespectable rant of copium.

Women are attracted to height, frame, face, hair, these are all immutable parameters, you either have them or you dont. Why worry about shit you can't change? I can change my muscles so I'm gonna work on that, if women dont like it frick em

no, this guy is fricking moronic.

Transient increases in IGF-1 and IL-6 have not been shown to cause cancer or age you more. In fact every study on exercise as it pertains to longevity shows positive results.

Smoking will increase your risk of death by about 60%

having top 25% strength will reduce your risk of death by 200%

Unadjusted all-cause mortality risk was significantly higher in the lowest muscle mass index quartile compared to the highest muscle mass index quartile (58% compared to 41%; relative reduction of 30%) (Table 2a). Unadjusted mortality rates were also significantly higher in the lowest muscle mass index quartile compared to the highest muscle mass index quartile (42.5 per 10,000 person-months compared to 27.9 per 10,000 person-months; relative reduction of 34%). However, both mortality risk and mortality rate in the third quartile were not significantly different from that in the fourth quartile (Table 2a). Kaplan Meier survival curves by muscle mass index quartiles similarly shows higher survival in the top two quartiles than in the bottom two quartiles, but little difference between the top two quartiles (Figure 1).

As hypothesized, in older Americans, muscle mass relative to body height was inversely associated with all-cause mortality over 10–16 year follow up. This inverse relationship was not explained by either traditional cardiovascular risk factors (dyslipidemia, hypertension, and inflammation) or glucose dysregulation (pre diabetes, diabetes, insulin resistance, and dysglycemia), suggesting that relative muscle mass is an independent prognostic marker for survival in older adults.

He's like the poster child of I'm so smart that I can convince myself that anything is true, aka pure-unadulterated Mexican copium.

Guessing that his wife left him for a less nerdy, more muscly asian twink. Or that he signed up for a gym trainer and the guy made him lift and he disliked it and ran home to make this video.

    Either way.

This man is a materialist who sold his soul and THEN lost his money in the silicon valley Faustian grindset, that's the only justification you need to throw out his opinion.

Do you know how old people actually die? They are old, and have extreme muscle atrophy. They have trouble getting off the toilet wihout using their hands. Then they get a mild desease, like pneumonia, and have to go to the hospital and go on iv for a week. After that they are "cured" but all the remaining bit of muscle they had has wasted away. They become bedridden and rot in their beds for a couple months (or years) while their closest ones change their diapers. And then they die.

But sure, muscle is bad for you, since the highly respected millionaire/facebook programmer says so.

You have to be a special kind of moronic to be filtered by Linux, it's stupid easy to use nowadays
From what I know of Techlead he leetcoded himself to Google and Facebook but doesn't have anything else to show. He got lucky with his YouTube channel filling a niche of "want to get into tech?" at the right time, so kudos to him for that. But, he just doesn't seem to be able to get anything in life going consistently besides that channel, and even that's declining.
Moral of the story from a IST denizen: leetcode gets you a job but doesn't predict job performance or intelligence, which is why leetcode hiring is generally stupid.
