I think it’s important to note that a single earner used to be able to support themselves and their entire family on a minimum wage salary, too. We can talk about work-life balance and how having a stay-at-home partner helps, but ultimately even if you’re dual income no kids you still often struggle to get by because wages have stagnated so aggressively.

My company hires a shit ton of female and black engineers and none of them can actually hack it as engineers. But the company can't fire them so they just get promoted to management jobs and bounce around every two years so their poor performance never catches up to them. We've missed out on every advancement in revenue streams in our industry for 20yrs now because all the white male led R&D teams have been replaced by diversity hire "Innovation" managers. It would be a lot funnier if I wasn't vested in the pension fund.

You just need to get organizized. Modern life is full of little conveniences you need to take FULL advantage of. Eg:
Pre-packaged foods like frozen veggies, pre-cut meat, etc. Also programmable cookware and tupperware.
      Disposable 3-blade razors
      Washing machines
Pocket-sized supercomputers we carry everywhere with us. Compounded with hyperconnectivity, you can turn any amount of "dead time" into something productive: keep in touch with granma while taking a shit at work, pay your bills waiting for your dentist's appointment, etc.

He's not wrong, a lot of grifters will lead you to do a bunch of junk volume. One chest exercise for the lower chest, one for the middle, one for the upper, one for the inner chest, one for the outer, three triceps exercises to hit all heads, three for both heads of the biceps plus brachioradialis and so on and so forth.

You should keep things simple, grifters overcomplicate things so you feel overwhelming and buy their program because of their "expert knowledge"

And yes, big muscles groups need to be "hit" from different "angles" if you want to maximize gainz. This goes well beyond simply aesthetics. Enjoy your muscle imbalances otherwise.

      >Play soccer/tennis/rugby twice a week for 90 min.
LOL, this is "enough" if you're some sedentary normie, but you're never going to be fit just doing 3 hours of cardio a week.

3 hours is enough to remain in shape if you're not a compgay. You won't be at your very best but so what. If you actually go hard I'd say it's the upper limit before it seriously starts interfering with your strength training (unless you're a NEET and have ample time to recover - God bless you).

What do you mean nobody? There are plenty of minimalist routines. Even le hecking science based gnome Jeff Nippard has one. And plenty of people in real life do routines like that intuitively. They get off work, train for like 40 minutes, hit the basics maybe 2-3 times a week and that's it, they maintain a nice balanced healthy physique.

But you cant get the best of every world. There are obvious compromises you have to make and most people who are autistic to be on IST or chained by the social media algorithms are in the category who want to maximize the lifting aspecct to the fullest so they train the whole body wth the most time possible because it's all that matters to them, there are no compromises to be made.

When you aren't sucking Silverberg's dick all day for a few shekels you'll suddenly find tons of time available. just focus on two compound movements a day for upper body and one for lower
    stretch after you're done
7 sets bench 7 sets rows then stretch
you're done with gym under an hour
    7 sets squats
7 sets ohp 7 sets pullups
    7 sets Deadlift
7 sets dips 7 sets barbell bicep curls
    7 sets taipei pulls
stretch after each of these 2 sets of 30 seconds the muscles you used
on leg days additionally stretch calves and do 1 dropset
every 3 months change from bulking + 14 reps before increasing weight to cutting + 7 reps before increasing weight
it's easier to maintain and (for beginners) gain strength at lower reps when cutting, than building muscles whilst doing so
    cut in fall and spring
bulk in summer and winter and never bulk-bulk
a caloric surplus of 200-300 calories is fine
don't do excessive cardio, it's bad for long term health
go for long walks in nature and occasional hikes to be healthy
eat 1g protein per cm height whether you're man or woman
eat complex carbs + Protein in the morning
simple carbs + Protein for lunch and fat + carbs for dinner
there you go. nothing needs to be optimal.
this is your guide for perfect health with 40 min to 60 min of gym 6x a week which you can easily do every day before or after work
if you're autist without friends you can even do it during lunch break
PS most of these can be supersetted to save time

I found from a young age that what most successful people had and most failures lacked was fortitude. There are other words used to describe it: "toughness" or "resiliency" or whatever but I think that fortitude describes it best.

    The Webster's definition is:

    >strength of mind that enables a person to encounter danger or bear pain or adversity with courage

I have a full time job, multiple hobbies, a wife, four children, a fitness routine, a side business I'm working on growing right now. It might sound like a lot of things to do but it's really not that hard. I have encountered people throughout my life who always said "whoa look out [insert thing I was taking on - college, marriage, kids, work] is going to totally take away your LIFE!" as if I'd just turn into a zombie with no free time and be tired and miserable 24/7. Every single time I took on one of those tasks I found that it was way easier than everyone had made it out to be, and that it wasn't really that much of a burden.

I recently had this conversation with a family friend who is newly pregnant. She was asking me how my wife and I felt going from zero kids to 1 and then to 4. I basically said hey when it's 3:30 AM and you're tired but the baby is sick and crying and you're awake and checking on them and making sure everything is okay or feeding them or whatever it might seem overwhelming, but you just need some perspective. For millions of years, human beings without the benefit of medicine, comfort of heated homes with electricity and technology and plentiful food and clean water steps away in the kitchen somehow found the strength to live and raise future generations. When you imagine their struggle, yours doesn't seem too difficult. It's just a short period of time in your life that you have to endure some slight discomfort. You need to see it as an enjoyable experience and not as an unfortunate burden. This is what we're here to do, life isn't perpetual comfort, and it shouldn't be.

I think most people are just bad at prioritizing things so their mind is constantly occupied with all the things they need or want to do rather than focusing on the things that matter the most first and then working down the list by priority and urgency. The same can be applied to programs and everyone who lifts knows the bread and butter exercises that should be your main focus.

On IST, everyone has a demanding 6-7 figure white collar job, have a very successful side business in another hobby they have mastered, married with multiple children they spend lots of time with, an extensive workout routine they do every single day, have dozens of hobbies they excel in, own their own home and do all the repairs themselves because they have mastered carpentry and plumbing and get 9-10 hours of sleep and have solved life. Really interesting to see such successful people on a website like IST.

I'd guess the blindspot of these people is sleeping time which is genetically pre programmed from birth. I need the amount of sleep I need and so do you, doesn't matter if it's 4 hours or 10 hours, there's nothing you can do about it. Low sleep requirement is a prerequisite for these types of lifestyle and I presume those who have low sleep requirement think everyone who has high sleep requirement must somehow just be lazy. Realistically if you only need 4 to 6 hours a night you hit the jackpot and, like the erstwhile Onassis poster, have a lot more time to succeed in.

Any time I see people who do the things a normal life requires I get even more angry and miserable. I’m over 30 and do nothing and can hardly even take care of myself. I’m so depressed and miserable that the thought of doing the bare minimum of adult survival seems beyond my scope of ability

In previous generations people like me would have been killed or died far before the age I am now. I would have been so lucky.

I hear this all the time from people who cannot be bothered to do the minimum of figuring out their own shit. This is a person who swallows platitudes and generic bullshit by the fistful.

I have 3 children, am married, work full time, and finished my MS last year. I have plenty of time for friendships, lifting, and hobbies. I can do this because I'm able to parse through what I need in order to do what is important to me, and what is generic tiktok horse shit. It takes critical thinking and a drive to actually make it work; it's much easier to throw your hands up and say "OH GOD I CAN'T DO ALL THE SHIT THE INTERNET SAYS I SHOULD BE!" like this clown.

People talk about masculinity this and alpha that and blah blah blah, but THIS is what being a man really is. Square your shoulders, work the problem, and do what needs to be done for you and yours. Everything else is static.

I don't really know what you guys are talking about. To me, I see the opposite. I'm an autistic sperg and it really astounds me seeing at how normal people can just do everything in life living as an adult. Getting worthwhile careers and job hopping between them, moving places, buying homes, going on vacations, getting married, having children. It is unbelievable to me how normal people can do these life-changing things so easily while I can barely even take care of myself.

I know how pathetic it is being like this, especially at 31 years old. It's why I know I am beyond help.

The best way to cure mental illness is to make your life more fuffiling, go outside talk to people, do things that make you a better guy, not sit around with some shmuck that says "mhmmm and why do you think that is"

I have problems getting all this stuff done as well but setting habits has helped a lot.
I noticed if I push the trash down, it gets too full and I'll start letting it pile up on the counter. This gets out of hand and getting the kitchen "normal" becomes an hour long task.
I've set sign posts up so that when the trash is full or near fupl, I remove the bag and just set it outside the door. I don't have to take it outside to the can, just right by the door and I can do that the next day. Easy peasy.
Now, trash doesn't pile up on the counter.
The next habit I'm setting is to either rinse, load, dry or unload my dishes in the dishwasher after every meal. At most, we're gonna be talking about 5 items, maybe 4 minutes of work. Now, I don't get dishes piled up in the sink and out onto the counter.
Just have to make habits that you can remember and reinforce that these are easier to do than not do.
