But they aren't the best for hypertrophy and lifting heavy in a power fatty routine is hard on your joints. Power fatties don't last forever. Look at Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman. Ronnie is a fricking cripple from deadlifting 800lbs for reps and Jay is still goated and lifting to this day.
Ronnie didn't get crippled because he lifted heavy, he got crippled because he didn't take recovery seriously and didn't listen to doctors, there was some interview of him saying that, a day after a doctor told him something was fricked in his back and he should take it easy, he went to the gym and squatted his usual weight, you can find countless examples of people squatting/deadlifting consistently more than ronnie ever did, and they are completely fine, ronnie was just a bit too moronic to last until he got old

anon, the event i was talking about was before the surgeries, he just never stopped training and continued to do so even while in actual pain, that is why he fricked up his back and needed the surgeries
He has repeatedly told the story of how even after experiencing sharp and severe spinal pain he completed his workouts, went to a doctor, was told to take a break, did not take a break, got a surgery done, then immediately returned to working out
He has a mindset that’s allowed him to become one of the greatest of all time in his field but it’s also absolutely moronic and is now the reason he’s a cripple

That's definitely a solid plan if that's what you want to do. You can't argue with the effectiveness of heavy singles as a way to build strength, that's just a fact.
So if that's what you want to focus on, you can definitely just do heavy singles like that. You can still keep it hypertrophy focused by making the singles explosive, just making sure you're keeping your form good while you're still pushing it on every rep.
It's an effective plan that will get you strong, there's no question about that.
