The only issue I have with eating insects is they're so expensive. If it wasn't for that I would gladly eat them, you don't really get any taste from them is the only thing. Also, primates throughout evolution have generally gotten their animal protein from smaller creates like insects they can easily kill and eat. Think about how chicken is better for you than beef, it may well be the smaller the animal the more natural it is for humans to eat it and better it does on it.
Trust me, insects won't take a major role as a food source any time soon, it will take many decades if not centuries. They might become somewhat of a "thing" in the coming years, but they will still be very expensive and not something people would choose over chicken.
