Well I said at a realistic pace. Losing 2lbs a week is asking to lose muscle, which defeats the purpose of a summer cut. Yeah if you're already fat you can even lose 30lbs, but for a regular guy who needs to tone up for summer. 1lb a week is already pushing it and it's the most you should lose
Cant you get around the loss of muscle part by just making sure you still hit your protein and micro intake?
You could. More protein mitigates muscle loss, but its only as efficient as how much protein you were eating before your cut. If your protein intake is higher than before you'll probably keep more muscle. If it's the same or lower you'll lose more muscle. With any cut, expect to lose muscle. Smaller slower cuts lose less muscle. So if you're really worried about muscle loss. .5lbs a week with more protein is a better option for you.

I have been in a caloric surplus or accidental maintenance since September 2022
Yes and no. I have morning abs already but Im also about to close in on 3pl8 bench. If I switch now to a large deficit it is very unlikely that I hit it, so i wouldnt bench 3pl8 before summer or during summer. Maybe earliest next possible time would be in september/october. Im so close, now that if I just keep my energy levels high and eat at maintenance at minimum/ever so slight 100kcal surplus, I could hit it before April.
Might need to go on a bigger deficit then than what planned but it should still leave me just barely enough time. If my 1RM doesnt move after the next 4 week progression then I guess I just postpone it. Not interested in reaching 3pl8 at the cost of being fat.

I got a new job which doesn't have any set lunch breaks so its been easy to not eat all day when im working and during the school week I can just wake up late and drink some caffine in the morning to not feel any hunger until around 2 or 3. Im 185lbs rn which was my target weight for the end of this month so hopefully I can keep going and reach my goal early. I think I'd look sick at 165-170lbs. im 5'11. Idk about bfp.

I'm working on my permanent body, but yes I started in time for this summer. Shoulders and chest already showing more definition. Shirts were fitting better for a few months as I lost weight and now they're tight again around my arms
