Estrogen molecules are a lot larger than water molecules. Molecular sieves work based off of the fact that water molecules are tiny and what you're drying with them is going to have larger molecules. Ethanol can be dried with molecular sieves, which is a tiny ass molecule compared to estrogen.

Because for the most part, filtration is a dogshit method of cleaning water by itself. It absolutely has to be paired with some other system to be fully 100% effective. Usually membrane osmosis or distillation. There's also the whole thing that basically no water is filtered with those systems that goes down your pipes, they take what's good enough and send it down.
