Yeah I've got almost everything in there including a leg extension machine, 1000 lbs or iron weights, 700 of bumpers, SSB, OPB, American Barbell Mammoth Bar, monolift attachment, jammer arms, copious amounts of elite FTS bands, c2 rower, elliptical for the wife, Rogue assault bike, etc.

You could have belt a great home gym for a 3rd of the price imo. Splurge out on a treadmill and a few specialty bars(ellipticals are lame), but do you really need dumbbells? You could have gotten a loadable dumbbell instead.
I imagine all I need is a bar for benching, a separate bar for deadlifting, an ssb cause i'm a pussy, and maybe a nemesis bar.

The convienience of not having to change plates in and out super frequently (drop sets, increasing or decreasing weight through sets) as well as never having to worry about loose plates falling off/ being able to toss them on the ground.

For a home gym, they arent practical imo, but this dude dropped 15k for a professional gym in his backyard so why not.

Yeah I'm not sure in what world you can possibly argue that adjustables are anything but cope. There isn't even a perfect adjustable set, regardless of price point. They all have some sort of compromise, and the good ones aren't exactly cheap either.

I just like my spinlocks. You can call it a cope, but with 1.25lb plates I can microload easy enough. I don't do many db exercises right now, just flat db press, and pullovers. Must be a blissful cope
I have a cable stack for fast drop sets/weight changes if I want to.

Noice. Personally, I could go without the bike, elliptical, or rowing machine and replace it with a treadmill and some type of cable set up. Otherwise, looks awesome! I wouldn’t mind the minimal space since it’s really only meant for one person to be inside, and you have the luxury of being at your own house and not wait on equipment.

How I would spend 15k on a home gym (giving myself a budget of 13.5k to factor in sales tax)
            6x horse stall mats = 240$
Bells of Steel Hydra Collegiate rack with Dip attachment/multi grip pullup bar and weight storage =1300$
            Ohio Power Bar = 300$
Used Olympic weights at 1000 pounds total = 2000$
Rep Adjustable weight bench = 400$
Used good quality elliptical = 1000$
Plate loaded hamstring curl/leg extension combo = 650
            GHD= 600$
            Kabuki Transformer bar = 800$
Used Dual Cable cross machine = 3500$
That puts me at 10790, which gives me ~2700$ to spend on other shit.
And just looking on craigslist I can find other pieces that I'd want lol. Like a hack squat/leg press combo or a deadlift bar or a swiss bar or a competition bench or some other machines.

Generally it's $1 a lb for oly weights. Nicer stuff like rogue, ivanko, york can be $2 a lb, but I can see the value of buying them.
You can get sub $1 a lb but those tend to have lots of 35lb plates or mismatched weights.

I got 300lbs off craiglist for $100 (plus shit bar). You just have to be willing to drive strange places and know a bud with a gun and a truck

                is the norm
my area has homosexuals that sell rusted equipment at or over msrp, but you're getting a good deal because "lol, you don't have to pay for shipping so you're saving $$, I know what I got, no low ball"

Yeah now that I read your above post I realized I misinterpreted it.
Area matters a ton for good deals. Lots of boomers here, but lots of Black folk trying to oversell shit too.

nice pick. I calculate gas into my purchases too since I only get 15mpg with my truck and it's 4.20 a gallon here for regular. For just weights/smaller items I take a different vehicle that gets 30mpg.

Could be neat doing engine over bar, engine drags, front engine squats.

You've got more weights than my local Planet Fitness. I switched to Crunch gym after the first time they fired the Lunk Alarm.

Mirin' your gym though, do you spill out onto the driveway at all?

Sometimes. Do liu raises & GHD always on the driveway. Sometimes move the bench out there. Farmers carries with 400 lbs a hand up to the fence and back.

A bench, barbell or dumbbells with weights doesn't cost more than a few hundred dollars. But yeah, keep saying weights are more expensive so paying the israelitegym is better than building a homegym

You know, I used to shit on these things, but if it helps the person that bought it be a better version of themselves, it's money well spent, I think. Some people need the little computer voice or whatever telling them they did a good job to keep at it, so if that's what it takes for them, then that's what it takes.

Average american man's income is around 40K a year. 15k is a sizable chunk of that in one year my man. Not impossible, but it depends on circumstance for an american man to have that quickly you know. Don't know about other countries but it's difficult when you got many other things eating into your income for things as big as a home gym in that short of time you suggested.
