I don't think this is what happens really - you have people with really good bodies posting in cbt all the time. It's more that some people come here to learn about being IST and to motivate themselves initially and once they have seen their fortieth coomer thread they have had enough of it and are tired of it and move on. Others then get "locked" into this place, they come here out of habit, maybe it motivates them on an ongoing basis a bit (one of the few possible legitimate reasons to perpetually come here), maybe they like the coomer bait or the super occasional interesting viewpoints here, or just to keep up with fitness/e-celeb gossip. It's the same dynamic as many message boards or groups. You are free to leave whether you achieved your goals or not.

Because there are plenty of non-fit guys who have gfs and plenty of fit guys (especially here) who can't get one to save their lives. It's not some guarantee to success with women just because you're in good shape.

I think a large part of it is just hormonal. I used to be on fit a couple years back and was gymming very strigently for more than a year. I was younger (17 yrs) but my test levels were quite low. Even though I went to the gym 4-5 times a week and ate good and ate a lot, I made very little progress and physique was just as shit as when I started. I eventually gave up and just stopped going to the gym because frustrated with the progress.
Recently, I picked it back up (20 now) and have been going for about 2 months, 1-3 times a week only, and eating just regular food, and I've made much much more progress in just two months than I did in the whole year before even though much less effort was put in. Physique is actually starting to look decent enough to get mires. And the catch? I retested my test levels and they're significantly higher now than before (Low 400's vs mid 900's now). And progress is so much easier that I feel like I have made more progress in just two months than many do in a year. I am confident that in six months time, I will reach my physique & strength goals and won't need to be doing much stringent gym work for longer. So I'd say before you start lifting and being autistic about hitting certain muscles or getting your macros in etc, work on getting your hormones fixed up. You can get enough muscle as the guy the OP pics after pic in just 1-3 months if you are hormonally good.

If you don't have the right mental structure and genetic predisposition you'll end up spinning your wheels forever no matter if glory is merely inches away. Doing any split consistently would have garnered respectable results. Instead you, like many others on the website, will just mull over the minutia for days upon days upon weeks upon months until one day you'll have a minor revelation that years have passed and you haven't had one successful year of lifting progress.
And, after this revelation, you'll make a thread about it instead of picking up a goddamn dumbbell.
It’s a mixture of things, genetics obviously being a big factor. I think the main difference is work ethic and diet though. Picture two guys with identical genes, one trains for 2 hours, 4-5 times a week, every week without fail. He tracks his macros to the finest detail, and never cheats on his diet. The other guy trains for 1 hour, 3-4 times a week, and frequently skips sessions. He eats well, but doesn’t track his calories.
Both would be considered active gym-goers, but the first guy would see much better results. After 2 years, there would be a pretty noticeable rift between them. I think that’s what separates the good from the great.
Also, low bodyfat is highly underrated. I worked out for years but never went below 15-20% bodyfat, and I always wondered why I looked so shit. Then I cut down to about 12%, and couldn’t believe how much more impressive my physique looked. The trouble is I felt really small day to day, but progress photos looked great. If Adie had an extra 5lbs of fat in that photo, he’d look unremarkable.
Adie went from a trade apprenticeship to being a personal trainer. He also has the beetus. I think he dabbled in some light cycles but mostly he was in a gym all day and had access to prime IST shitposting and peak PLG threads. If you had that same level of access, you'd probably look that good too.
Don't measure your progress against the perceived success of others. REALLY making it means improving your life, doing things you want to do and having long-term goals. Adie is loving life but he's put weight back on. Does he give a frick? I guarantee you he doesn't.
He was active 10-13 years ago, so no surprise he's put in weight now as he's gonna be nearing 40 atleast.

Genetic factors are there, but gaining muscle is just as simple as losing weight. If you starve a fat person, they will become skinny, there is no genetic component to that. Likewise, if you feed your muscles and tear them past their limits, you will gain more muscle. Progress is inevitable with consistency, it may show more quickly with a larger, wider frame, higher testosterone levels and overall greater health, but it will still add up regardless of external factors.
A lot of social media body builders are enhanced, so take their gains with a grain of salt and focus on yourself. If you've plateaued, it's time to change something, and that comes down to the simple steps I just mentioned, consuming energy and tearing muscle. Eat more protein-rich, high quality foods and push harder to failure in different ways.
I have consistently gained 2-3 pounds of muscle every month the past 3 years despite having chronic health issues. But I have had to change up what I do every so often and only ever missed gym days due to being too sick to go.
