>had blood work done
>Blood proteins all over the place
>"What's your workout routine like, Anon
>Explain to her I'm on a PPL program, work 3 rest 1, with 20-30 minutes cardio every day, also I hike or do other non-strenuous activities on rest days
>Then have to explain what half of that meant to her
>"Anon, that's too much for a man your age, you need to take more rest days
>Look at her in DYEL
>Cancel planned workout that day
>Take a nap instead
But you guys told me overtraining was just a meme...
if you were still progressing and not working a muscle while it was sore then you were not overtrained
>>"Anon, that's too much for a man your age, you need to take more rest days
how old are you? 50 or 13?
43
get trt prescribed
>I share a board with literal boomers
it's ogre
I'm 10 years younger than you and yeah man you have to really build up the overall volume slowly. Even though I am quite a bit stronger than I was when I was 25 I do not have the ability to recover like that anymore so I have to be careful with volume/intensity/frequency to not overtrain.
She's right, there's no need to do any program other than full body or upper/lower
Joe Biden sniffs little girls. Is that his secret to his virility?
Ha ha, you think he's virile? Okay, buddy.
He’s not sniffing them, he’s inhaling their youthful souls
I'm a DYEL approaching my 30's and I think my lack of energy is due to being sedentary most of my life. I have a distrust of doctors, and while I do think you should listen to your body and take more rest days and retrying your bloodwork in a few months, I also don't think you should let her stop you.
Plenty of people at my gym in their 40's who are big and strong from a decade of training. I'm sure you in your 50's will be living a very different life, and more active, than what you are now.
I'm 30 and have always been active and have a continual lack of energy but maybe it's the drugs
I'm 27 and I'm so glad the internet bullied me into doing sports in my early 20s. I've never been in a better shape and I have a ton of energy all the time. Life is good bros
Doctors see thousands upon thousands of people every year. You're just another face to who they'll give their typical suggestions to appropriate for your age. A personal trainer knows you and your limits and would give you a more personalized answer with an understanding of your goals and body. I'm not saying to get a trainer, but you see what I'm saying? A doctor is always going to err to the side of caution, it'd be against their job if they do otherwise. Adjust your training and keep going.
At your age I would focus more on cardio and take weights easier, maybe just to maintain
You really gonna take IST's advice over Mentzer's?
>Blood proteins all over the place
Can you tell us what this means? Is it something like rhabdomyolysis
random nurse practitioners don’t have any understanding of a fitness routine or nutrition. most medical professionals see patients who are obese all day, every day, and have warped understandings of normal, healthy individuals.
i seriously doubt your PPL routine and 30 minutes of cardio is that bad.
>ignore your blood tests and doctors anon
>trust me instead I can't even be bothered to capitalize the first word in a sentence but I'm a medical professional
Yes?
if you went to go get a creatine test you would have deadly levels for your liver
why? because you lifted +/- 4 days ago
when you wait 4 days, your creatine levels are fine
if a nurse told you that you had dangerous levels, and told you to stop lifting, who would you listen to? me or her? srs
i do posterior chain / anterior chain split twice a week
7 heavy sets of front squats and ohp
and 7 heavy deadlift sets and weighted pullups
this has given me the best physique since i changed to it ever since i started training
literally focusing only on two movements per day and training 4x a week
that's 14 sets per exercise
i do calves and a lot of stretching after working out for mobility and spinal decompression after posterior chain days and cardio after anterior chain days
my strength and gains are mogging every roider at the public gym i go to
The systemic cortisol you've accumulated will cause your entire body to be shit. It's why we tell you 3x full body or even less but then you just kick and cry I WANNA GO TO THE GYM EVERY DAY MY DAD WANTS ME TO GET A JOB SO I HIDE IN THE GYM
> her
Opinion immediately discarded.
>listening to a nurse practitioner
