Why do people binge eat? Surely the body wouldn't eat past every cell in it being full if it were so full of nutrition, right?

You're probably not thinking this way. Other diets have solved weight loss, but the CICO myth persists as a relic of the dark ages of nutrition.

A diet is a set of foods you routinely eat. CICO isn't a diet, it is a rule. If the calories you consume are lower than the calories you burn, you will lose weight, as the deficit has to be made up from your body's own energy stores. All diets (keto, vegan, balanced, etc.) adhere to the CICO rule. You cannot expend more energy than you consume without some of it coming from your own body.

No. You fatties literally don't understand what it takes to be lean. You think that being sub 10% bodyfat is difficult and unpleasant, when the reality is that it requires practically no discipline and is just a matter of conditioning yourself to that kind of lifestyle.
You get that through healthy practices - exercising frequently and eating a healthy diet. Putting the focus on calories is pure moronation; it is not conducive to anything long-term, and will make the entire process unpleasant and more difficult than it needs to be. If you lead a healthy lifestyle - which will put your hormones in check - you simply do as your body desires and the results follow.

Ok, I'll take this bait. Let's say TDEE is 2000cals and I start with a deficit of 1000cals, I'd lose weight at around 1kg/week. This goes on for 10 weeks and then I hit a plateau where I don't lose any weight for say next 4 weeks. Now before you say that my TDEE is now 1000cals, keep in mind that while keeping all other variables to be same, TDEE only decreases by 100 calories for every 10 kg decrease in bodyweight. Hence, CICO fails and it is actually hormones (leptin, insulin, etc.) which are more important.

CICO cultists would probably say "muh water weight" or "bone density/muscle increased", which would somehow account for the stalling. Give enough gray area and tell them they're eating more than they think enough until they choose to starve themselves harder and do more exercise or fail altogether.

As suspected, you have never cut for more than 10kg and as can be seen in your graph, your weight loss rate became exponentially slower below 70kg. That's when CICO starts to fail. When your weight went from 80kg to 70kg, your TDEE should have only decreased by 100 calories but if you had also logged your TDEE than I can guarantee that the difference in TDEE were much greater than just 100 calories.

That’s uh… Not really how it works. It has more to do with the quality of the food you eat and the quantity first and foremmost. Your genetics (race, ethnicity, sex, etc) may promote that behavior but your body isn’t going to change majorly on a fast in that manner.

        >body starts storing more fat as a survival mechanism
The body is already storing as much fat as possible as a survival mechanism, dipshit. What, you think we normally shit out a percentage of perfectly useable energy just because? Food scarcity was a constant factor for most of human history, the recent food security in the developed word is a drop in the bucket. We evolved for it, the body is always desperate for every single kilocalorie it can get its hands on, because those in the past who weren't died out when famine eventually hit. Which is why we deal poorly with modern food abundance, it's an anomaly.

You do actually. Nearly all of your bowel movements have some undigested food in them. There is a maximum amount of food your small intestine can absorb per hour. If you super binge ate 6k calories of peanuts (which isn't hard to do, by the way, it's like two canisters) you wouldn't actually absorb all 6k. The next day if you inspected your waste in the toilet it'd be very nutty. As a rule of thumb you really can't consume much more than your TDEE +1200 in a day. The bodily processes for making new fat cells take time.

    It's actually something like
    >caloriesOut=caloriesIn*metabolicRate
Take DNP or anavar, now eat 2x your TDEE and see how you somehow keep losing weight. CICO is just an oversimplification and you gimp yourself too much by not understanding there's more to it.
Coconut oil is like a less extreme version of this.

CICO is just a principle. There is plenty of dietary information everyone should know in addition to CICO, but none of it refutes CICO.

Eat on a caloric surplus, but let your diet be full fat carnivore.
      >You will not gain weight.

Do the same with carby meals.
      >You'll turn into a fat frick.

There you go, a contradiction. => CICO is moronic.

Anyone can do this experiment and it's a simple proof by contradiction.

People talking about the nuances of calories in/out are like people being smart asses about the sky not being blue.
Here's how CICO works, you keep a diary of what you eat, thats your CI. Did you lose weight that week? If yes, that means your CO was more then your CI, now, do you want to lose weight or gain weight? Look at your diary, the weight difference from that week, adjust like 50g of oats per day, and youre done.
Doesnt fricking matter what hormones or whatever the frick. Just eat more if you want more weight, and less if you want less weight, use a diary and/or CICO calculator (it's the same thing really) and adjust accordingly. It's a practical guide for people to control their weight, because after 30 years of overeating sugary shit their inner scale for food intake is broken, thus you can use the practical tool of CICO to readjust it and make it healthy again.
Ofcourse, going away from processed shit and doing OMAD or KETO or whatever the frick can also help, just make sure to keep progress/journal so you actually know if its getting better or not, and its just not a whimsical feeling. And if you swtich up your mealplan every day, doing OMAD on mondays to wedndest, and keto only thursdays, and veggies only saturday, and a cheatday whenever you feel like it. Then counting those calories will be nonsense, yes. It's like people switching jobs every week and wondering why they cant generate a stable income.

Except it doesn't work like that. CICO is applicable for just a short period of your weight loss/ gain journey. I began OMAD this January and I lost weight at the rate of 1kg/week till I reached 18% bodyfat. Then for next 2 weeks, my scale did not budge at all. If I was a CICO cultist redditard, I'd start cutting out portions from my single meal as well but instead I've taken a break from OMAD and began eating regular meals. And in the last week, I did not gain an ounce of weight. I'd keep this up for another week and then only would I bounce back on OMAD cause I know that currently my Leptin/ Leptin Receptors are fricked up and hence my metabolism is slowing down.

        >If I was a CICO cultist redditard, I'd start cutting out portions from my single meal as well but instead I've taken a break from OMAD
sounds to me like you never did CICO, so why would you know if its works or not?

me personally, I did CICO for 7 straight months a few years back, and I gained and lost 0.5kg per week exactly as I ate, and I ate the same shit every single day for 7 months. I did like 3months bulk, 3months cut and a month on maintenace. Did that to figure out if CICO actually does sometihng. And boy was it mindblowing to lose exactly 0.5k per week just by cutting a bit of oats each day. Obviously I had a rolling avg of my daylie weight, graphs and all that. Eating the same every day helped with counting too, cause you dont have to calculate every day if every day is the same. I could even see how my weight loss made my CO lower thus i lost less than 0.5kg per week and it slowly going to 0.4kg.

Or you can just cut the carbs out and it will fix itself instead of relying on those same slops to fix the issue "in moderation"

The sky isn't blue moron. Blue was an invention after the ancient greeks (you can see Homer refer to the sea as "Wine-colored" repeatedly as they had no word). Do you think vast civilizations believed the sky was something that didn't even exist in their lexicon? Lmao

yes I know, thats my point, and CICO isnt correct either

It’s simple. N***** cattle loves simple dogma they can cling to and fight for.
Obviously cico falls apart with the co part. And obviously macros are not equally treated by the body even if calorie amount is the same and obviously blood sugar also matters and obviously “cico” doesn’t tell the desperate fatty how to manage the most important parts of any weight loss attempt: hunger (psychology) and logistics. Even science gays would know that if they had a proactive stance on their cult/faith instead of waiting for their priests to cum on them with the “newest” science. But this is how humans are; simple cattle rules over by the few
