    Regular fasts over 24 hours are great for you. There is a reason all the religions exalt it. Not only does your body heal itself, but your discipline flourishes. That said, it is not an optimal weight loss strategy. You don't want to just drop dozens of pounds overnight, you don't want to deprive yourself of nutrients and electrolytes during such a time, and you don't want to make things too difficult psychologically when you're clearly food-addicted.

            If you eat, yes. However if you don't eat and drink for 3 days, you will start expirience deficits. And likely die on day 4 or 5. Even if you just lay low and do absolutly nothing the whole time. Your body needs a constant I stale of new fluids for basic brain functions. Maybe there are people who can maximize the time, but it is not adviced, since you can literally get brain damage from it. Always drink a lot when you fast.

      I have lost over 200lbs in less than two years while being gorilla mode under all that fat. I will tell you how I did it and what I have learned

      Mix up the shit in pic related. You need to consume this all day long in little sips. DO NOT chug it you WILL shit yourself within minutes if not seconds. Speaking of shitting yourself, all your farts are now sharts, save them for the bathroom. Have fun stuffing your cheeks with papertowels while you sleep too. This anal destruction will subside after a few weeks. Your guts are full of horrors you fat frick so this will get ugly before it gets better.

      Start by fasting for 24 hours, then spend 24 hours eating whatever you want, although try to eat healthy. You don't have to eat healthy but don't splurge on sugar. T The point of this is to prepare your mind and body. Then fast for 48 hours, then eat for 24. Then fast for 72 hours, then 24. Repeat this for at least a month. Note how long you do all of this depends on how fat you are. If you have a rolls, keep it rolling (heh). If you don't eat sweets like a Black person your body will have begun to transition in to preparing to consume your fat for fuel. The headaches should be gone within a week or two as long as you are drinking your snek juice. Most people wont have headaches past the first 24/48/72 cycle. If you are capable of maintaining these cycles and think you'll frick up if you change them, don't. Otherwise, for the braver among you, start increasing the cycle until you hit 5 days no food before you reset. Once you hit 5 days, go for a solid ten days of fasting. Again, I shouldn't have to say this but if you aren't a fat frick your body is going to start eating lean mass especially if you aren't exercising. During this whole process you should be going for at least 1 walk a day. You don't have to train hard just keep moving. After 2-3 months of cycles you have now formed a habit.

      I lost around 30kg in 5 months by just doing alternate day fasting and lowering carbs and nothing more. I'd eat around 150g of protein over 3-4 meals in a 8-10 hour window every other day (so fasting around 38-40h at a time). Kept it off by permanently lowering carb intake.

      Watch Cole Robinsons (op's picture) videos on israeliteTube called Snake Diet.
      The diet he is pushing now is probably the best weight loss diet out there for lazy people.
      It's called the 20/80 diet where you consume no more than 20% of calories from protein and the remaining 80% from fat.
      It is basically how Keto should be done and is very sustainable.
      The high amount of fat to protein will keep you in Ketosis, this must be done with a high amount of sodium and potassium because the lack of carbs will make it hard for you to hold onto electrolytes.
      Once you are used to it you should reduce your calories below maintenance and you should be able to lose quite a bit of fat.
      It is best to consolidate your eating times with intermittent fasting with this diet because of the high satiety of the high fat intake will allow you to drop fat quicker.

    Additionally, if you have obesity, you will lose considerably more weight through dry fasting/intermittent fasting.

    The cellular edema, like around the breast area in pic rel. is not fat. The fat cells themselves actually become swollen with water and form a protective barrier against toxic substances (obesogens?), especially heavy metals like mercury which Americans are pumped full of since the 1980s (when obesity exploded). The fat cells literally cordon off the poison with a ratio of 9-1 molecules in the case of mercury, more or less depending on how bad it is. There are studies on this. Mercury is obesogenic. They gave it to rats and they became obese with the exact same diets as slim rats.

    So while the obesity technically is fat, it's not because the fat cells are storing "excess energy". It's because your body is poisoned and it needs to store the toxic substances away so it won't kill you. Exercising forces toxins out through sweat (muh burning calories). Reducing caloric intake decreases exposure to toxic food and allows your body to process the poisons out through the liver/kidneys, through autophagy. If they smell you get smelly urine, typical to fasting.

      I won't say this is implausible, but the explanation of obesity is far more simple, IMO. Processed starches, sugars, oils, and the like correlate perfectly. People consume inflammatory, high-calorie foods that have no sustaining effect like mad. Infant formula is 40%+ fructose. Refined fruit juice and pasteurized chocolate milk are passed to kids as "healthy" choices.

      btw saunas/sweat lodges are amazing while fasting. but be careful not to overdo it. i find the sweet spot is between 24 and 30 hours without food to do a light workout and sauna. or, if you eat at lunchtime day 1, do a workout and hit the sauna when you wake up the next day.

      and, i don't know if this is backed up by "the science" but i feel like workouts are twice as effective when i am in ketosis.

              I drank hot broth during the first week to deal with the hunger. I am not a purist and those few grams of fat don't count for me. But from now on it's only water, vitamin pills and electrolytes. I don't feel hungry anymore.

              I plan to go for at least another week but I like the idea of pushing it into 30-40-50 days territory. I plan to switch to keto for a week or two before I carb up and eat carbs again. I'm going to break the fast with some fatty pork, then in keto I plan to have a burger (with a keto bun) and more of the pork, finishing with fried chicken and salad to end the keto.

      I've become a fan of McDonald's since eating zero-carb, funnily enough. There's nowhere else you can get two all-beef patties for $2.25 or whatever they charge for a "Double Hamburger" now. You can question the quality of the beef, but better than 99% of options when eating out, which I rarely do.

      Coffee is a drug, that is not fasting. Every addiction must be given up. And you can't just sit on your butt and play video games, the Christians for example use fasting and prayer (for hours). The purpose of fasting is to reach purity of mind, why bother fasting if you want to remain evil?

      I hate to break it to you, but tea has caffeine too, unless you're all-herbal. I give up caffeine as well for periods of time, though I haven't really noticed any changes.

      This guy uses snake juice, an electrolyte mix, during his fasts. The world's longest fast was over a year long with nothing but electrolytes and coffee.

      a 15 day snake juice/electrolyte water fast would probably yield 10-12 lb weight loss and the first 3-6 pounds of that would be water weight that it would be easy to gain back.

      in my experience, you lose about .5 to 1 lb per day of fasting if you are exercising to the point of sweating and about .5lb per day if you're just not eating. eating one meal a day with 2 or 3 36 hour fasts per week for a month and a half lost me 23 lbs and i gained about 5 back the first week after quitting.
      the mental and spiritual benefits are better than the weight loss benefits IMO, it felt like i got back some willpower that i had lost, maybe my dopamine reward system recalibrated a bit or something.

      most important is potassium because you'll wash it out by drinking more than usual which you should due to uric acid spike during water fasting.
      minimum potassium dose should be the recommended daily intake which is 4g.
      Since you're drinking more than usual it should probably be around 6g.
      I eat 8-10g every other day without any issues.
      Magnesium is also important but a smaller dose than usual because it causes diarrhea.
      Also vitamins (sv3rige would disagree) the daily recommendation.
      Last but not least every other day proteins be it though a protein shake (protein powder without sugar) or amino acids.
      This is important to keep your body from attacking the heart muscle.
      You'll feel more tired during the fast but potassium and a nap will help with this

    Cole is currently promoting 80/20 diet; 80% of the calories from fat and less than 20% of the calories from protein, keeping the carbs to low or trace.

    This is what a true Keto diet is. People call it Keto if you go 'no carbs'. So, tons of guys decided they can go carnivore and eat 2lbs of steak a day and diet. It doesn't work and all the excess protein you are consuming just gets converted to carbs/sugar and spikes you up. You can confirm this with keto strips or a blood glucose monitor.

    Eating 80/20 is zero hunger all day long. You can basically forget to eat. Bacon is in the 80/20 zone. His favourite now is pork sausages that are 80/20. It also becomes a pretty cheap diet - pack of 5 johnsonville is $5.99CAD. Eat 2 packs a day (2) x 1200 kcals 2400 if you are training - gives you 120g protein. If you just ride the couch and vid, eat one pack of sausages / day for 1200 calories and not be hungry at all. If you do that, just chill or some walking, but no lifting. Lots of salty water. Use regular salt for the sodium and get the no-salt for the potassium and chug it. Add a magnesium supplement if you can.

      That said, after a couple days you go "hunter mode" where it feels like you could chase an antelope across the savannah barefoot and kill it using nothing but your teeth and massive erect wiener.
      It's a feeling that makes it worth it. A little bittersweet when you break your fast and go into mental hibernation.

        With experience in fasting, it stops being a novelty or a diet and just becomes a habit or almost a hobby. One can start appreciating the nuances that come with it. "Hunger is what losing weight and being healthy feels like." When that mantra finally becomes internalized, those little tummy growls before bed and daydreams about the next meal you have really are pleasant, even enjoyable. If you always think of fasting as adversarial or a challenge, it will always feel that way. Exercise is the same way.

              nah, just bad keto breath that sucks. after a while you kinda get sick of the taste of salt water but then you're like 5 days in and forget about the whole thing because the benefits are better

                Odd.

                Whenever I fast for long periods I get this strange sensation in the back of my throat. Then I usually get lightheaded and have to quit.

                I always though it was electrolytes but I supplement them all.

      You won't be hungry after a while. You'll adapt. You don't have to start off hardcore fasting either. Ease into it. Snake diet is great. I lost 80lbs doing it. Also a lot of chronic illnesses/medical conditions went away. Autophagy is real and good.

    I have been trying intermittent fasting for the past month. Only eating once a day after I get home from work. But it has been failing because I constantly eat snacks (chips) throughout the rest of the night.

    I started doing this when i was diagnosed with Gout.
    I just had a blood-test, and my doctor said i have a high level of white bloodcells in my sample, i just realized i was fasting when they took my blood.
    Is it posible thecelevated white-blood cells are because of my fasting?
    Because i feel fine!

      Fasting absolutely helps with gout, you should read the book "Drop Acid" which is about lowering Uric Acid. Should be right up your alley.

    I like the HEY FATTY channel and I have fasted to lose weight, but those pictures are misleading, he eats and drinks until he's fully bloated under the worst lighting before taking the picture on left which is water weight you lose in a day or two of not eating, he also had all those muscles beneathe from training before fasting, if you are a fatty who didn't workout you won't have muscles like on the right after fasting

      If you're obese you realistically lose about a pound of fat a day while fasting, and it looks like a little more than a pound when you don't factor in the water weight, and that can be an enormous amount depending on how many fat cells you have. My body changes by about 20lbs this way just by entering ketosis.

    Frick that dude, I reached out to him for help once and he just gave me a bunch of unrelated, automated responses shilling his program. Snake juice sucks anyways, everyone that knows about salt tablets knows you don't need to literally drink salt water to get your daily amount of sodium. Only the potassium chloride needs water and that's way more tolerable.

    Question, artificial sweetners like stevia on tea take you of fasting? I've seen mixed opinions on this online , some don't consider it does because of 0 cal, others consider it doee bceuase of insulin

      I would just limit the intake to afternoons if you stay active and if you get really hungry just snack a bit before getting active.

      You are already causing fasting results by exercising which is dehydrating you + draining yourself of electrolytes and such.

        i see, i'm a late student (life was kind of a mess in my 20s i'll admit) so i'm already 30+ and my metabolism has def slowed down considerably, the workouts i weekly are def not enough to keep up with my intake which already isn't too big
        i'm gonna try fasting and taking a break from exercise for a few days, it's not gonna kill me to try
        btw I found these on my closest store, i believe they're perfect for this kind of fasting style, at least one-two per day to keep up the essentials right?
