I do cable rows, is that still decent?
Normally do cable rows, but tried this machine. Similar to OP's pic but you have to load plates on it. Wasnt bad. Felt bit weird because wasnt used to it, will give it another go.
There are plate loaded versions of this which are even better
But if you're talking about a hammer strength row machine they are nothing alike

the best one are pendlay rows with dumbbells, t-bar, or a trap bar, done as explosively as possible. starting from a dead stop makes all the difference for back exercises and neutral grip is optimal for it. there's no other exercise that allows me to progress so quickly and carries over so well to any other back exercise. my pullups progress quicker from doing them than from doing actual pullups
I use it because my gym doesn't have a cable row machine

These are literally just an inferior version of the sit down cable row machine, which has different attachments for grip and can move freely and naturally, whereas this machine can only move in one direction at a fixed grip width.
