I love going to the gym, I have a lot of buds I chat with inbetween sets. Its a nice enviorment.
I cannot wait to have my own home gym.

pick one
A non-autist wouldn't see any contradiction to his statements.
Are you an autist, anon?
Sometimes you want the convenience of having a home gym, other times you want to see the gym bros and tight assed bawds and use machines you can’t afford/fit in your home gym.
I can go to the gym but it costs me money and time I would rather not pay.
The cost of me walking outside or using my interior gym is free. I can buy equipment I like, keep it running how I like, and enjoy it.
Maybe if I had a close hardcore gym to go to, but somehow the commercial gyms have oly bars with the worst knurling ever and it triggers me.
Average gym around here is 60-100+ a month.
I have both. If I'm busy and dont want to go to the gym but still want to do something at home I can. If the weather is bad, i can work out at home. Unless you are poor theres really no reason not to have a home gym. You can make a really good home set up for less than 1k and use it forever
Home gyms are for adults.
Space is an issue for a lot of people.
>space is an issue
After going overboard and setting up my home gym I now know I could do decent with just a door pull-up bar, bench, and dumbbells or a barbell.
Never doing legs?
How much space do you really need for a home gym tho? This is what I started with, ended up replacing the rack with a squat rack and safeties.
Sweden? Nordic country?
Sweden, yeah.
Interesting how you can recognize it just by one room in an apartment.
t. other Swede
same but with a squat rack
>blaha posts
you are the autistic one
Blaha is one of the best youtube influencers. His descent into madness has been amazing to watch.
This is what happens when you stick to a dogma, refuse to learn from your mistakes, double down and refuse to pivot. Beautiful.
Yes especially if it's a barbell minimalist (powershart) setup
Yes, what's your point?
It's for people like me who hate driving to/from the gym and having to wait for equipment
> want to save money
> must be socially awkward ayylmao!
Nah. There are a lot of 20 somethings whose lives are show shallow that they think the only way to build character and a personality is to spend all your earnings and have no savings.
This doesn't just apply to fitness but fashion, technology .etc
If you don't have the latest appleBlack person phone or follow some billionaire's daughter on instafanny, then you're not cool or can't possibly be integrated into modern living.
I find said people, such as OP, extremely sad. You're too scared to do anything by yourself so you simply conform and pray that you remain part of the herd of zero-savings zero-personality losers.
home gym is around $300
pays for itself after 1 year in gym fees
some people drive 30-40 minutes just to go gym and back.
home gym is 0 commute. anyone who drives to work can see the benefit here.
you never have to wait for someone to free up equipment or deal with idiots of the world
only con is no spotter but if you have friends, you can invite them over to work out.
>home gym is around $300
No one is buying an Olympic bar and PU-coated plates for $300. A new bar alone costs $300. You might find a low-end second-hand bar for $100. The only part of my home suitable for lifting, the basement, does not have a tall enough ceiling to accommodate a full-sized rack and pull-up bar, and it's also too low for overhead pressing and C&J.
sounds like youre making some crazy excuses.
nobody is forcing you to buy a power rack that doesn't fit or a $300 plates or $300 bar (lmao)
go on fb marketplace you can likely find everything you want for free (given enough time) or steeply discounted.
You could just get a used bar+weights for 200 or 300.
That's what you do if you are a poorgay. Shit then you do what I did and go standard weights.
Optimally you would find one of those shorter power racks+adjustable bench for seated OHP.
Half racks work okay.
My squat rack is probably worth.... 50USD on used market and it can support 400lbs. Not much but if you do harder variants you need less weights.
If your used market is fricked..... it's over
How low is your ceiling in the basement bro??
About 200-220cm. Dunno. Low enough that I can reach it with my finger tips with my arms outstretched above my head, and low enough that the bar loaded with full-sized plates will crash into it when fully extended over my head.
No shit, that's why I have a cheap 33mm bar with threaded ends and cast iron plates. They're still crap compared to Olympic standard equipment.
Nothing is steeply discounted any more. The last time I bought two 20kg plates was on FB marketplace and they were a bargain compared to everything else on offer; still cost me $100, if I remember correctly.
>t.dyel
Plates are over $1 a pound, nearly $2. I would need nearly 500-600 just to have my working deadlift weight.
A bare minimum home gym is $2500. A decent one is $10k
I got a power rack, bench, bar for like €200. Homebuilt rack, one of those shitty 25mm bars. Was good enough for me.
>$300
All you need are dumbbells and you're all set.
I use cheap used ones and get creative with it.
damn you israelites will make up any term for not wanting to see degenerates.
There is 1 gym close to me with great equipment. It is a 80 euro per month crossfit gym with the worst opening times ever (shit like 1800-2100).
At home I have a great bench decent cage and god tier bar.
>euro
pathetic
Yes and gyms are for people who are too socially awkward and autistic to play sports.
Maybe but in my personal experience i bought mine during the pandemic. A since gyms in my country asked for vaccination for almost a year after restrictions were lifted, i just decided to stick with it. The only problem is that i don't have machines or other stuff, but at least i can get a good workout with barbell and dumbells. I also have a bench and a powerack.
Also this frick the vaccine crowd, 2-3 years of their inane madness and junk science is enough. I don't want to be subjected to their insanity again but climate hysteria is back on the menu and Blackrock is fully financing it so here we go again it seems.
i love my home gym so much it's unreal
You fricking wigger, you've put the nuts on the wrong way round. You should be shot. Why do you think there's a rubber o-ring on that side of the nut, huh? It's so it creates friction when it touches the plate.
I'm filled with seething, uncontrollable rage for wrong-way-round-nutgays.
My friend, i very much resent being called a "wigger", seen as how i dislike both rap and black "people".
Now as to the question of the nuts. The reason i have them on this way is because I often change the weight on the dumbbell. Once fastened to the dumbbell the o-ring has a tendency to stick to the plate and fall to the floor once the nut is removed. I do not very much fancy having to fiddle with the o-ring every time i change the plates, preferring instead to verify the tightness of the nut before each set.
I have successfully followed this approach for over 2 years without incident, so i can safely say that i in fact do not fasten the nuts the "wrong" way around, as you claim.
Having settled that, kindly direct your uncontrollable rage towards actual Black folk.
Well, I would have called you a Black person, but you posted your body.
>o-ring has a tendency to stick to the plate and fall to the floor once the nut is removed.
This never happens to mine, and I've had the same set of dumbbells for over 15 years.
looking good King
keep it up
u were the spanianon right?
where did you buy the bar and plates? they are wayy too expensive right now
oh hey bro, it's me!
majority of stuff bought from
> givemefit .com
> gorillasports .de
and some small stuff from decathlon
overall my setup is ~1.2k euros and i bought most of it in 2020.
i even convinced my best buddy to get one.
frickin amazing!!!!
>blaha deadlifting 280kg
My arse
He’s deadlifted over 500 lbs in competition before. Why is it hard to believe that he can deadlift 600?
Because he's a weak fraud
Ok, so how is he weak if he has deadlifted over 500 lbs in a weightlifting competition? Can you deadlift 500 lbs?
I built a powerrack out of wood because I was too cheap to go to the gym. Worked decently well. Now I am at the condo complex's gym though. Costs $30 a year.
What does he start every word with caps?
They're also for people who hate sharing facilities with Black folk and pajeets
No, the fact that you might think this proves you are a braindead zoomie without a real job, a house, or a family. Lurk for 10 years before posting again.
Nah. Gyms here used to be great. They were full of bros and everyone knew everyone. Now they're filled with toxic trash and roasties. Going to the gym is now is just coping. Private and home gyms are were the bros are at.
home gyms are the shit if your not poor. Built an oly platform, over 500lbs of bumper plates, sick ass bar, state of the art squat rack, impeccable epoxy floor, amazing dip thing, big dick
Do you think the epoxy is worth it? I’ve been thinking about doing it since it’s easier to clean.
having a home gym would save me at least an hour of time per week, not to mention the fact that wouldn't need to buy gym clothes, because I'd lift in my underwear
I went to a gym before. But with the covid shit I started building my home gym.
I see the appeal of both, but if you just prefer a regular gym because of the social aspect and not because it has more equipment... you are a bit of a homosexual and you should focus more on just lifting
no, the main reason I'm scared of making a home gym is because I'm socially awkward and autistic. I need the gym to get out.
Yes. The vast majority of home "gyms" are literal plastic weights from Sports Academy purchased by DYEL shut in incels
i HATE the subscription plan israelite with all my soul. if its reasonable to buy once and use it forever i will always choose that option. in the specific homegym case if you have space its not only reasonable to get one but borderline moronic not to.
OP seems to forget that a mere 3 years ago the biggest psyop campaign ever fathomed by humanity was laid before our eyes, and we had to choose between:
- unconditional trust towards something you knew nothing about
- lifting but at your own house
tl;dr OP is a homosexual per usual
No, but I find gyms full of overly competitive and trashy people that need to be fricking disposed of on a daily basis, so I choose to stay home and get my pump without you chumps.
>Shoulder checked by a fricking bus
Mog of the century
I see no point paying to drive ten minutes or more to and from the gym and possibly waiting to use equipment.
Sometimes. I'm pretty social and go out a lot, but I prefer to improve myself in a solitary space so I can take the results back out into the world. I wouldn't go to a gym or a library to meet people because it would distract me from the task of improving myself. I wouldn't drink at home because I'm not cultivating relationships and wouldn't have social pressure to keep my drinking in moderation.
wasn't this guy getting kicked out of his unit? what happened to that arc?
The only functional gym around me is an über-homosexual offshoot of LA Fitness where everyone there is more concerned about making people think they lift than actually lifting. I fricking hate it. Having a home gym where I don't have to wait for all the gays at the squat rack to put on their belts and Nike blazers to squat 185 sounds like paradise.
