Are squats an absolute meme if I have long femurs?
Seems like the only people who do well with them are manlets with tiny femurs

Quit making excuses.
Elevate your heels
This guys wearing weightlifting shoes (as in elevated heels)
>Elevate your heels
I've got long thighs and after quite a bit of experimentation I've found flat to be better for squatting. Elevated heels make it harder to hit depth
This.
It's amazing how the whiney little b***hes will find any fricking reason to pussy out of fricking putting in some hard work.
Just stop lifting with that fricking 4yr old girl mentality.
Your never gonna fricking make it homosexual.
yuriks another lifter that has very long femurs.
Working on a wider stance and ankle dorsiflexion will definitely help lifters with long femurs squat better.
i have long femurs and wide stan e actually made me hate squats
it was fricking painful when i went below parallel.
narrow stance is way more comftable.
see thats the thing. Everyone has different leverages, muscle imbalances, and strengths.
You really need to play with stances, and different cues. Record yourself with a camera, even work with a coach.
Form and technique is everything.
with long femurs back squats are a more hip and glute dominant exercise. squats will make your deadlift skyrocket. any kind of front squat will increase the quad dominance. however, with longer movement arms, asymmetries develop more easily. thus, rear-leg-elevated single leg squats can be very helpful for the long-femured, as they are a quad-dominated compound that doesn't allow asymmetric forms to develop.
I'm 6'3 with a long femur.
I like doing low bar squats because they let me lean my chest forward for a good counter balance while not having to stick my knees as far out, which I find hurts my knees to let them do.
So yeah, my advice is putting the bar lower on your back so it doesn't dig into your neck when you lean forward and to just lean into the squat as much as you need to do it comfortably.
>who do well
they're just doing their best and you should too
holy frick, cut off a Black folk dick and rape my butthole, is that real?
I didn't read your post or OP's, I'm just coming into the thread to say this is a very cute pig and I hope they have a nice life.
That's clearly a bee.
it is cute..
If I have big femurs and what to build big quads what exercises are better?
I like his advice.
You could also just do stuff like hack squats even though it's a machine thing.
If you're lifting for muscularity it's about what gives you a burn in the right muscles so no need to be a purist.
God I wish I learned this sooner and didn't waste a few years using the wrong tools for the job and getting frick all in results
Yes low bar squats are a meme for building quad hypertrophy. I could be at 5-6 RIR in my quads 0 RIR for my lower back performing them. If you only care about muscle size and not functional strength, do machine hack squats. Leave the squats to the manlets, they need something to be proud of.
>Leave the squats to the manlets, they need something to be proud of.
It's got nothing to do with your height and everything to do with your proportions.
Tall people generally have disproportionately long femurs though exceptions exist.
Are dumbell Bulgarian split squats IST approved?
Yes, they're fricking based for building quads
I'm a manlet with tiny femurs and my body can't squat.
I have great dorsiflexion, i can get knees over toes very easily, but my torso/trunk is quite large proportionately. I have to go super wide in order to get A2G.
Tom Platz has large femurs and short tibias, proportionately speaking.
>Skipping leg day again, Potter?
do atg front squats
with your proportions you will get an insane quad stretch -> sick quad gains
>I cant hit depth because of XZY
widen your stance homosexual
>Are squats an absolute meme if I have long femurs?
Yes:
the first two videos you posted disagree with that, though. the guy goes through ways to adapt your form to long femurs.
the guy who did the first two videos has a big library of excellent personal training videos.
I am 6’ 2.” I have long legs and recently hit 495x7 reps. The issue is not your short femurs. You are a b***h, squatting is fun and women love my big legs and giant gorilla glutes.
how do i even tell if i have long femurs or long torso or whatever? what is the reference?
Zack telander is a long boi with a nice looking squat
it has nothing to do with height and everything to do with body proportions and ankle flexion to a smaller degree
Squats are the foundational exercise. if you aren't squatting, you aren't lifting.
Dorian Yates won 6 Mr Os without doing a single squat. No exercise is necessary.
Yates was a freak of nature either way, not a standard you should hold as common.
you are not dorian yates anon...
>t. never played a sport in your life
you are unironically NGMI
Long femurs aren't what you should be focusing on, torso length is. Long torso with relatively short legs means you can stay relatively more upright when you squat, whereas a shorter torso means you have to bend over further to keep the right balanced over your mid foot. This is why taller people tend to have more trouble with squats, as they are more likely to have proportionally longer legs than shorter people, though short people can have this problem as well if they have a short torso.
Short torso means squats become hip hinges. If you want to negate this, you can do front squats with something elevating your heels to artificially give you more dorsiflexion at the ankle, which allows you to stay more upright. Just focus on bending over slightly, and shooting your knees forward as far as possible, actively pulling your feet towards your shins at the bottom even.
t. Wears Olympic shoes and puts plate under herls
stick to the machines you homosexual.
Front or zercher squat then, lanklet. You got this. Find a form that works with your levers.
what are lowbar squats even
Do zercher squats.
No, squats are easily the best leg exercise.
If you're having issues, figure out why. You probably don't have enough hip or ankle mobility.
I have short torso long legs and can squat atg comfortably.
