>doing a form of cardio they don't enjoy >probably half assing it as a result >no indication they're tracking calories >doing this for a month straight
Ngmi unless you get your food under control and do a form of cardio you actually like
Ive been following a schedule where i went from 2 mins running to 30 mins in a timespan of 6 weeks, skipping 2 weeks of progression because i wanted to progress quicker
Get creative and it gets fun right now. At the cost of efficiency you can have fun playing with eye-hand coordination exercises with, for example, tennis balls like in fronton or just make up something if you don't want to stop jogging. Foot coordination drills are really fun as well
Do some warm ups and treat it as leg day, squat jumps, explosive mountain climbers, lunge walks and then run. Have a goal you want to achieve, you can't feel good about something if you do it just for the grind of it.
Cardio is for brain and heart health, diet is for weight maintenance.
Adjust cardio as necessary so that you don't hate it. That might mean switching to sprints or swimming or cycling, reducing your pace so you're not redlining, buying new shoes, whatever. You don't have to suffer. If you suffer, you're doing it wrong.
But keep doing cardio once you find a way that doesn't suck. A healthier human is more likely to lose fat and maintain muscle when subjected to a calorie deficit. If preserving muscle is a big deal you should also lift weights. And then trigger weight loss with your food choices and portion control.
its for increasing calorie (thermal energy) consumption you fricking autist on top of training the heart and lungs. The brain gets trained by thinking and learning new things.
>jogging >fun
It never becomes fun anon. It's fricking jogging. If you want fun cardio activities take up swimming or cycling, though the latter isn't fun when you go out in traffic on your 1800s invention and piss everyone off.

>they
Every cardio is boring so just do what’s efficient and get it over with
>swerve to make sure tire goes over his head
Oops total accident didn’t see you there.
Well and that's how you build mental toughness, by doing something which you don't want to but which has a lot of benefits.

He probably meant mental toughness when he said "cardio is for brain".
There are less boring ways to develop willpower for example grind based calisthenics.
Uuuuuuh

I’m thinkinnnn
I’m juicin
do biking at a gym and look at hot chicks asses like a creep. it makes it bearable
you can also watch porn if using at home exercise bike while working out, helps a bit.
i used to play rocket league and listen to metallica and cycle at the same time. i lost like 30 lbs in a few months
Run in nature, it triggers all kinds of primal shit in your brain like you're stalking a boar or something.

I’ve been running for almost 10 years and it’s only fun if there are other people around. Weights are more fun but not cardio obvs
I pretend I’m getting chased by pirate skeletons to run longer.
