No thanks, this is the blood god gave me and I don’t want to risk it going to a Black person
T. Talking out my ass just donated blood several hours ago for first time in 5 years
I swear I’m stuck in a fricking simulation I’m here every ducking day and the second I do something new or start thinking about something threads are made about it. It can even be an attitude change on something and sure enough some “anon” posts a thread talking about having the same change of views in the same thing.
You’re all weird. Stay out of my head it’s not a good place to be.
Your thinking is only the part of your mind that you recognize. You don't own your mind like a house as its like a room in an apartment. You get to use it entirely, but everyone else can see what's going on over there.
fricking this
same goes for donated clothes
they sell that shit and keep a good chunk of the profit
there are huge clothes markets in Africa where Black folk sell the clothes that stupid 1st worlders donated thinking the clothes would be given to dirt poor Black folk for free
This. I’m practically giving away my blood to make money for some israelite. >b-but think of the people you save
Then the israelites can pay me more for it.
>Takes approx 20 mins (in Australia) >Most workplaces have some sort of leave allowance for it (again, based down under) >Burns up to 650 calories for a pint (the amount they take is based on your weight) so it's good for fatties trying to lose weight >They give snacks out if you want them so you can recoup calories if you're bulking >Helps to reduce blood pressure >You are doing an objectively good deed and (again in Aus) they even tell you which hospital your blood has gone to >Limited to donating once every 12 weeks to limit damage to your gains

fricking this

they sell that shit and keep a good chunk of the profit

You donate it to a company that turns around and sells it with a 50% profit margin.
This. I’m practically giving away my blood to make money for some israelite. >b-but think of the people you save
Then the israelites can pay me more for it.
You understand that the blood is sold literally just to recoup the costs associated with the process right? Do you think it's fricking free to have a receptionist, nurses, phlebotomists, facilities, pathologists, and staff for transportation? >I give for free, someone then charge. No fair! Much israelites!
Jesus Christ could be anymore fricking stupid?
I understand you may have an American mindset anon, but not every single thing you do in life needs to translate to a few bucks. If this is the stance you take on life so be it, I won't convince you otherwise, but know it's a pathetic way to go about your life and you're the real israelite here.
>Do you think it's fricking free to have a receptionist, nurses, phlebotomists, facilities, pathologists, and staff for transportation?
where I live the blood is donated to a government-backed institution which means the staff gets paid by the government
Government backed or government run? These are different anon.
I can't. Every time I've tried I've had to fill out my travel history just to get rejected because my family took a trip to Senegal in the early 2000s or some shit.
Depending where you are that may not be an issue anymore. A bunch of old restrictions just got removed in AU.

Keen to read peer reviewed journal articles if you link them anon. I don't think "the conversation" is winning people over as a source.
Not in america buddy, they all sell it to hospitals for profit and launder the money through the insurance companies and like 50% of the blood is thrown away. Any other country with socialized medical care, you're right.
>Any other country with socialized medical care, you're right. >implying the socialized medical care isn’t a monopolistic business
Look at Canada and their MAID program
For the consumer there's very little difference between the oligarchic corporatocracy of america and government controlled monopoly. Except of course the nearly +10x cost of medical care you get in america.
female blood is medically no good, any blood donated by a woman is automatically discarded. naturally they still have to accept the donations since women need to feel included.

Lol maybe for Americans, not for the rest of us. But even then, having previously worked in biotech I completely understand that insulin is heavily overpriced for you guys.
moron good goy there is no way it cost what they charge for it. There is a fat profit margin on it which is why there is several privately owned blood/plasma donation centers.
I don't give a shit how much they spend on reception, nursees, phlebotomists, facilities, etc. I'm the one with the blood, the fact they gave the money to everyone else doesn't mean they get the blood for free.

Nah you're thinking in the wrong direction. Dollars are a marker of how much society values what you do, if you can't get paid much to do something it means that society is telling you that your time would have been better spent at a different activity.

Most people view hobbies as a way to spend your time doing something you enjoy. Turning that into something that has to make you money for it to be worth doing ultimately changes your frame of mind around it and it is no longer purely for enjoyment.

I disagree. I'm very financially secure and there's no way in hell I would take a creative hobby like music or painting and start trying to sell them. I'll play shows locally with my band and we just give all the profits to the other lesser known bands. It's not about the money, and we make sure it never becomes that.
No, my hobbies are my own expense and not everything you do needs to be useful. For example I don't expect to be compensated for playing my guitar, but I do enjoy it. But if blood donations are important to society they should be sufficiently incentivized, otherwise people like myself will do other unrewarded activities that we enjoy more instead.
