enjoy your anhedonia and general numbed emotions. it fucks up your cannabinoid system. additional bonuses for long term fish oil cultists are cancer (especially prostate) and hair loss. worst supplement ever. only helpful for recovering alcoholics who have actual brain deficiency of it.
to put things in a perspective..

it also decreases anger an anxiety. gives you soft "girly" skin and makes you leaner. it gives you pecuilar skin texture. you can see it on inuit and some fishy scandos. still not worth sides. it interferes with endocannabinoid production. rimbomant (cb1 abtagonist) stopped being sold cause it caused depression. less irritability and anxiety is due to lowered noradrenaline.

What would your counter be to people saying omega 3s benefit you via increased dopamine and serotonin, anti inflammatory effects, and increased neurogenesis?

            Anonymous

hard to tell. in my experience it makes yoi feel flat and i am certain there are many more people like tgat. just search any nootropic/supplement forum. dopamine might be increased but it does not translate into feeling better. i can see how numbness could bringvrelief to people with strong depression/anxiety as it decreases all feelings. psychiatrists seem to be greatly dissmissive of people complaining about ahedonia or lack of motivation

For about 24 hours. The anti-inflammatory effect only last about 24-48 hours, and then it wears off, and the inflammation turns back on with a vengeance.
Vitamin E has the same effect.

      How much mercury?

        Anonymous

Negligible. Alaskan wild pink salmon are among the lowest mercury fish. Additionally, fatty fish are often higher in selenium, which binds to mercury and helps remove it from the body. The mercury in Alaskan salmon is so low that pregnant women are actually encouraged to eat as much as they want.

I wouldn't go so far as to say there's no such thing as essentially fatty acids. I would say that we don't need the megadoses the average person gets nowadays.

        >Counters the omega 6 overabundance present in the agricultural diet.
The omega 6 overabundance is due to seed oils entering the western diet, and being fed to farm animals.
If people just ate grains, dairy and meat, there wouldn't be any issues.

I'm in this weird place where I believe Omega 3 hype and Ray Peat at the same time so my Omega-6 is low low low. Goodbye peanuts, goodbye chicken thighs. For me it's flaxseed, fish, eggs, dairy, shellfish, liver, beef shanks.

    Beware of fish oil.
Shit gave me the worst stomach virus I ever had.
I shat water for like 1 week, and threw up daily.
There's studies that show that almost every fish oil supplement starts oxidization.
    Take Ashwagandha instead.

Ashwagandha sketches me out from people saying it can cause anhedonis which I already have and want to get rid of
